Normally I am the first to write a positive review if a company has treated me right. About a year ago I purchased a new computer from Best Buy. Unfortunately, we kept going back and going back and calling. We are patient people. We thought it was something we had done wrong even though we paid the Geek squaid to set it up for us. 32 days of frustration, numerous trips to Nampa and we were told we could not merely exchange our computer because we had it more than 30 days. I honestly feel we should have been told this would happen by the Geek Squad who visited with us and knew our frustration. By the same people who never got our computer going. I believe they had to know our problems were not average or quick fixes. Our computer was sent in leaving us with nothing. They estimated 2 weeks but it was much much longer. First it went one place and they found nothing wrong. Then it went a second place and nothing was wrong. It was returned to Nampa and we waited and waited. The Geeks could not make our computer work either. Eventually we did get another computer but in the mean time we had to purchase a lap top at another store. We do understand that things happen, but this process was far less than pleasant and not acceptible in our opinion. If you go to Best Buy and get a computer and it works then it would be a great experience. Regardless, a certain percentage are going to have problems. Our complaint is that we felt we were not taken care of in a timely and appropriate manner. Whenever we drove to Nampa we waited in line for service or answers. The lines were filled with other people having problems. Some got satisfaction. We fell through the cracks.............it was not fun. Would I buy another computer at Best Buy? I am not sure. Really I think I would have to think about getting one built from a local tech. That is what I have gotten in the past. Times are changing. We may have less options yet with businesses going under. I guess future choices will depend upon what options we have available. My best advice is to prepare with some kind of backup plan in case your computer doesnt work. Especially if you use it for work like I do. My rating may be low but I feel the bottom line is always customer service. This is really where we got zinged because we bought extras including service but couldnt really get it either. There was no guarantee they would not charge us in end. We dont live close by and it was always bring it in...............it didnt turn out well for us.

Im from Alaska and am visiting friends in Nampa, Idaho. I decided to go to a local BestBuy and purchase a GPS device to help me navigate around unfamiliar streets, and to find my way back to the place where Im staying at night. I arrived at the store just a few minutes before closing and was greeted nicely, even warmly, by the employees. I could see they were getting ready to close, hustling about with trash and other cleaning activities, but they never tried to hurry me. I explained what I was looking for and they directed me ... in a very friendly manner ... to the Car Electronics section of the store, where a young man (who didnt know much about the GPS devices) asked one of the more knowledgable employees to assist me. Nobody ever rushed me ... in fact, they told me to take my time and not to worry about the store closing in just a few minutes. The young lady who helped me didnt know all the answers to my questions, but looked up the specs to compare one model to another. She was very polite, and very willing to assist me in any way she could, helping me choose the GPS device I felt would be best. I was stunned at the courtesy, and the efforts put forth to assist a random, unknown customer in those last few minutes before closing, and decided I would return at a future date to let the manager of the store know how much they had impressed me ... not knowing if this courtesy was just a way of life in Idaho, or if they were just a special group of people that I had stumbled upon. So ... I can say I was treated with great respect at this store by its employees, all of them expressing a willingness to be of help and service ... no matter the hour! — Ive never seen anything like it before! I highly recommend this store, and its employees, for the professional, and courteous manner in which I was helped, and treated, as they were closing. My thanks to them, and my compliments!

Purchased our first xbox kinect along with some games and the staff person misrepresented a game to us that really required multi player online to enjoy it, otherwise you simply run in circles with yourself. We made it very clear we had no intention of ever playing on line with others prior to the purchase, so not too impressed with the staffer that really didnt listen to our needs....plus these games are too expensive to just sit them on a shelf unused. Presented the problem to a store manager the same day as the purchase, and even though the box was opened on the game, she was excellent at making it right and allowing us to not only exchange it for something we could have fun playing, but also spent the entire time walking us through the best games for us in 1-2 player types. Even called her a day or two later and thanked her for all of her help and about how much we are now enjoying the game she helped us to select. I bet that doesnt happen everyday since she was also with gratitude that I acknowledged her courteous help. Treat others right and they will treat you the same in kind.

I bought a tv from best buy and had to return it. Not a big deal. It was a 70 inch so they offered to come pick it up which was nice. Two weeks later I still dont have my refund and every time I call the customer service line they seem to be trained to spend 20 minutes just trying to find your info and then transfer you to someone else. I have had two people literally just hang up on me. Not because I was being rude, they literally just said oh let me look into this, click. Feels like I am working with some sketchy scammy company that I need to report to the better business bureau but this is Best Buy. After three hours of this I decided to call my credit card company and dispute the charge. While I was at the store I heard someone else around the tvs complaining about the customer service line. You as a company are only as strong as your weakest link. If you are allowing your customer service to treat your customers this way there is a serious problem in your company. I wont be shopping at Best Buy anymore. I purchased my tv from amazon and got free delivery and no sales tax.
