05/24/15: Bought a 2006 ML350. 05/25/15: Check engine light came on but I couldnt get to the dealership to have their mechanic look at it until 05/26/15. 05/26/15: Their mechanic / car wash person checked out the code and cleared it out. They said it the gas cap wasnt on correctly. They cleared it out. As I was leaving the dealership, it came back on. So I did a u-turn and Im back getting it checked out. Now, their mechanic / car wash person said it was the cam shaft solenoid they had to replace. Fine, they replaced it. 06/01/15: The check engine light came back on on 05/30/15 while I was in Mexico. Went to the Dealership on 06/01/15 and the mechanic / car was person cleaned out the throttle manifold, he said more than likely that should fix it. It did not. Now I have to drive back to have it fixed. I will update after I get it looked at. P.s. the mechanic / car wash person didnt know Audreys name. Even I know her name, I mean I deal w/ her enough, I should. He called her, "that girl in the office." 06/04/15: Dropped my car off because the "check engine" light was on and they ordered the part. They gave me a "borrower car" and the car was full of someones else trash and dirty. Its 06/05/15 and I went on my lunch hour to pick up because they said it was done, but I get in to drive off and the "check engine" light is still on. I pull back into their lot and walk-in and ask them if the "check engine" light should still be on. Rob said, "they are supposed to clear the codes." He takes it back the guys to get it cleared out and it pulls three more codes. So they are keeping it because they need to order more parts, etc. They will more than likely have it over the weekend. If it doesnt get fixed this time, I will request to have the vehicle looked at and repaired by a licensed Mercedes service tech.

At first, I thought Del Mar would be it for me for car shopping. I hate the instant depreciation of a vehicle once you drive it off the lot and Del Mar had a good selection. Mostly high mileage vehicles but in pretty good shape overall. We purchased 3 cars here, thats how much I liked them. The turn came after I asked about refinancing a vehicle. Payments were made on time, every time and its pretty much SOP for a bank to refi if you do well with the loan. This was laughed off, basically. "Maybe" was about all I ever got. And then came the problems with a vehicle that was supposed to have been covered by warranty. 3 times in the shop and it came back 3 times with the same issue. Once with a huge dent in the fender and another time with bolts missing from the engine compartment. The response I received was "well, maybe you should take it to your own mechanic. We cant find the problem." Umm, theres a warranty on the car. Helllloooo. I told them I was ready to give the car back and was told that was an option. I talked to my wife about it and she agreed. When I called to take them up on the offer I was referred to as "a spoiled child" who always get his way. How rude!! The final straw, as if that wasnt enough, was finding out they didnt report to credit after being told they did. 3+ years of solid payments and nothing to show for it. Sure, theyre nice guys. Very affable but the reality of it is, theyre frauds. Praying on those that might be in a tight spot. There are other options out there. Options that will report your on time payments to credit bureaus and help you instead of stealing your money. Avoid this place at all costs.

I own two residential service companies, Point Loma Electric and Bath Planet San Diego. I have purchased 3 or 4 vans from this dealership, some of which were financed "off the record" by Rob. In other words, he allowed me to make a down payment, then set up a payoff in 3 or 4 installments that fit our budget. Our first purchase was in 2011, a 2000 Isuzu deisel box truck, and that truck is still running perfectly well to this very day, every single day but Sunday. It has required very little maintenance. In fact, considering what we paid for this van, its probably the best deal Ive ever gotten on a used truck. Its paid for itself many times over. Since then, we have purchased 2 or 3 Chevy cargo vans from Rob. One got rear ended by a texting driver on the freeway. Totaled. So I needed another van. They got me an almost identical Chevy replacement van at a very, very affordable price. Sure, it has a few minor issues, but thats to be expected. i would not hesitate to purchase another vehicle from Del Mar Auto Sales.

If you are buying a used car that is fantastic, go to Del Mar Motor Cars! I have never been to a used car agency that is so nice and with such great deals!!! I found an ad on line for a car that I was looking for and went up to Del Mar and these guys were the best! They showed me the various cars that fit my needs and left me alone to go through them without trying to sell me one! I had plenty of questions about the cars and they answered without sugar coating each answer. I am usually not very happy with used car dealers but these guys are very truthful and are very respectful. They went way out of their way to make my visit a happy one! I will surely go back there and get my next car! BEST CAR DEALER I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! Go there and see for yourself!

I bought a used car here and the engine blew up on me through normal driving two months after I drove it off. Fortunately for them their warranty only lasted a month. They offered no help even though they knew they sold me a lemon car, they took no responsibility. It cost me almost as much as I paid for the car to repair it! I had to buy an entire new engine. These guys get their cars from auctions or dump off cars from legitimate dealerships, their cars have no history or maintenance records. Youre much better off paying a bit more at a reputable dealership or buying privately when you know the maintenance has been properly done. These guys will sell any car that will have create a good test drive, even if theyre a ticking time bomb.

I had bought a car from there in December 2016. They have a friendly staff but their inventory is not so great. I had bought a 2006 Scion tC the check engine light came on 4 days later, went to the dealership and they said it was emission leaking and thats usually due to a loose gas cap, they cleared the light and I was on my way home. A week later the check engine light came on again. I had tried to contact them but I had received no answer. That night when driving, the wheel had locked up and the suspension went out causing a totaled car. When I tried to contact them again about the warranty they did not reply. Nice staff but the customer service isnt so great when trying to contact them.
