Coral frags in saltwater tank were absolutely covered in brown algae or were skeletons. So many SKUs up for fish/inverts that they dont have to the point where they were covering the prices of the livestock they actually do have. They had no medium crickets bagged so I asked the (very nice) older gentleman cashier if I could get 20 mediums, NO water and NO cardboard. He flagged someone down, repeated the exact same thing, and rang me out. Spent a very awkward 5 minutes waiting and joking with the cashier in a dead store. Finally the crickets came, with cardboard and water... He apologized but I said it was fine and left. In the car I removed all crystals and cardboard and to my disbelief there were only 19 crickets in the bag. Really? You cant throw in ONE EXTRA just in case you counted incorrectly or to compensate for loss during transportation? I wasnt bothered enough to go back in. Ferrets were also cramped (6-7 in one octagon) in a very disgusting cage. Was informed that they are usually understaffed and this was their excuse. I hope the new manager will help remedy the animal areas.

We just finished Thom Rauchs Puppy 1 class with our 9 month Havanese/Maltese dog. Thom is a very caring and knowledgeable trainer! Our puppy loved going to class each week and we noticed that she came away from her first class better behaved and improved with each visit. We were very impressed with his professionalism and are very grateful to Thom for all of his suggestions. We feel so lucky to have found him and highly recommend his classes to everyone! We firmly believe that a well trained dog is loved and enjoyed by all. We are sorry that we didnt find Thom months sooner. The class was well worth the time and money spent! We are going to miss seeing Thom every week. Dont hesitate to sign up for his class. You wont regret it! We have become loyal Petco customers because of Thom and the other Petco employees. They really care for you and your pet! This class may save you from having to give them up for adoption due to their bad behavior.

Wow. I never go to Petco, but they happen to be the only place open for dog food during Easter apparently. I only called to see if they were open their normal hours-seeing as I dont ever go there, on google it says "Easter make affect these hours", and their automated phone system didnt say when you call the store. So I hit the number for customer service and asked if they were open their normal hours, and Mike who clearly hates his job in the customer service industry says "yes we are" but he couldve just used the same tone like when he first answered and stated his name, he was clearly annoyed since he like raised his voice, tone of voice was awful. It was just rude. Im assuming by his tone he has gotten that call many times today, not my fault he chose the retail customer service industry. Happy Easter jerk..ill take my business elsewhere.

Petco is OK to go to if you are in a pinch but I will not shop there on a regular basis. Prices are considerably higher there than at PetSmart for just about everthing from pet food to clothing. I needed some diapers for my Chihuahua so I went to Petco because it was on the way home. Diapers were $5 more a package but I was in a hurry so I bought them. I found that the diapers at Petco are a very, very poor quality. The tape didnt stick well and the diaper kept coming off. Petsmart diapers are a much better quality and they cost much less. Customer service was fine. I had an employee offer to help me and checkout was quick and friendly but the higher price of everything is the main reason I will not be going back. And I definitely wont ever buy dog diapers there again.

HORRIBLE Customer Service. We came in to the store this evening (May 24th 2015) with a family member and asked about a fish. The employee that helped us was downright snotty, confrontational, and extremely rude. She told us that our single common goldfish was going to die in front of our 10 year old niece based on the fact that we dont clean our tank every week. When we said that we dont have time to clean the tank every week she very rudely told us that she had 3 kids and 5 animals and she cleans her tank every week. She was directly implying that we were poor pet owners for not doing as she did. She never did answer our original question and created an extremely awkward argumentative situation right in the middle of the store. BEWARE, You may be treated the same way.

I have had such a great experience with Petco in Woodbury. A few weeks ago, I purchased a baby guinea pig from them. The staff were so helpful and friendly! About a week later, my guinea pig came down with an upper respiratory infection, which are quite common in babies. Petco took him back immediately and brought him to the vet for me without charge. They took great care of him while he was sick. They kept him clean and well fed, treated him for the URI, and let me visit him. I just got him back today and he is doing great! The staff cares so much for their animals and customers, I am so grateful and impressed with the company!

Let me say Im a big fan of supporting small businesses and while Petco in Woodbury isnt a small business they certainly run it that way. We recently bought our leopard geckos there and outfitted them with a new terrarium. The man who helped us, Aaron, was exactly what I would have expected in a small pet store. He not only knew what he was talking about he lives it. He has lizards of a set of variety. He knew about the geckos we were looking at. Three days earlier my cashier helped me, despite not buying anything, get my pals rewards up and working properly. Ive never had a bad experience here.

Stood looking at the fish for 15 minutes not one person asked if I needed help. Walked around the store in circles for another fifteen and did not see one person out on the floor. Not one single person. Eventually I found a girl who I asked could come help me. She stared at me with this ugly mug like I was an idiot...then never came to help. Eventually had to stand in the checkout (which was also unattended) with everyone else who needed help...wouldnt send anyone here go to pet smart.

I like this petco BUT the customer service wasnt so inviting.... No hellos, No help service, and when i was leaving I didnt feel so satisfied with my purchases (assuring me to come back or if i needed to exchange). 3 workers saw me trying to figure out which item to buy but didnt encourage me or even approach. This doesnt make me want to go back....Im gonna go to a different petco. **Note to self: A Happy place makes a Happy buy** Woodbury Petco failed.

We are one of Petcos loyal cricket customers since we were blessed with a "free" anole our daughter won in a school lottery. The crickets must be the right thing because the anole is now on to almost 2 years. When I walk in the store, staff recognize me and ask me how many I need, very personable. My only complaint is that sometimes I have to look for staff to go fetch the crickets out of a back room and it can take a while.
