Im never been a frequent customer of this store, I live to far out of town to get to the store, but maybe 6 or so times a year. Recently I rescued a lab mix from The CARE rescue in town and went over to this store to buy a crate for my new family member. I purchased a crate and bed to fit it but wasnt sure it would be a big enough size for my new dog. The associate was very helpful trying to guess what size a lab mix would be, lol. At check out she told me to pay with credit, that this would make it easier for me to return the crate later, because they do not give cash back on returns. I agreed seemed logical to me. Unfortunately Massey is way to big for a 36" crate and I called the store back the next day to tell them I would have to return the crate and the bed. They noted down my name and number and told me that would be fine. When I was finally able to make it into to town 2 weeks later I was told they didnt return crates and crate beds after so long. I assured the cashier Id been told I could and she got the manager (or could have been the owner Im not sure, shed looked to be 50 with brown hair) for me. The manager explained that for sanitary reasons they could not return the crate or bed because they would not be able to resell it. I pointed out that I hadnt even opened the box it had been so obvious it was to small when I got it home and next to Massey. The manager persisted and I showed her that their store receipt said I even had 90 days to make the return (one of the reasons I was okay with purchasing the crate in the first place). At this point she shut me down saying they didnt return crates when peoples dogs out grew them. Ill admit I lost my cool at this point and told her that this wasnt the case and Im a honest person. She heard me out smiled and said she was sure I was before turning and walking off to the employee only area. I left with my crate and very dissatisfied and I will not be returning to do business with them ever again. I hope other people read this review and decide to shop at other pet stores more in town. Do not trust this store you never know when they will change their policies to better suit themselves and help them make their all mighty dollar.

This store is close to my home, which is the main reason Ive continued shopping there despite several unsatisfying visits. The store seems to have a problem keeping inventory stocked- theyve been out of my brand of dog and cat food several times, and seemed completely unaware they had run out. On three separate occasions, staff members have openly insulted my choice of dog/cat food, calling it "dirty" which seems ironic, considering they continue to sell enough of it that they often run out. A recent recall of anything related to Diamond pet food sent me to the store recently, to buy a different brand. Not only was the recalled brand still on the shelves, but the staff members told me that half their current stock was affected by the recall, including the replacement brand I had researched online before shopping (Additional online research revealed no basis in fact that this or 2-3 other brands they singled out had any connection to the Diamond company.) Clearly, the owners and staff have a favorite brand- the $80/bag Canadian brand, to be specific- and they appear to be willing to do or say anything to sell it. So if the Canadian brand is your brand, this is your store. But if you need some honest info about pet food or want to avoid buying food that has indeed been recalled, dont look for answers here.

Horrible, horrible, horrible place to go. The woman at the front, Paula, is a mean, snoby, hateful old woman. The management is horrid, the owner hits on anything that looks nice, and they are racists sexists pigs. They have been rude to many of my friends that shop there, and have been for a long time, they just have the I dont care attitude. I have heard rumors about sexual harassment, so beware if youre a female applying for the job. A friend of mine didnt get the job because he was gay, kept calling to check in on his app and they ignored him. They have great food and most of the staff, except the owner, the manager, and the old lady that stands at the counter watching everyone, are nice. Overheard the owner talking to his staff about a black baby that was adopted, he said he smelled different because he was black and this is why his dog doesnt like black people. They dont like anyone that isnt white and youll notice all of the employees that are not groomers are female, no males. Just order your high quality food online at petflow, I wont go in there again.

We walked in today to find a specific dietary supplement. They didnt have it, which is fine, but we didnt even make it more than a few steps in the door because the lady at the front immediately jumped to "help us". She showed us the minimal selection of supplements they had, which was conveniently in the front, but proceeded to insult us and the type of dog food we feed my very food sensitive dog, telling us "its the lowest quality dog food they would even consider selling" which is crap. She was one of the rudest people Ive met in a long time and we couldnt get out fast enough. In the conversation we had it was obvious she had no real knowledge of anything she talked about (from supplements, to food, to other stores) and repeatedly argued with us about information we had just received from multiple other sources. Needless to say, I will never return to his store or the new one theyre moving to. (Downsizing huh? I wonder why?) :/

Have been in the store many times, do find it a bit pricey but they have some good products. The younger ladies at the counter are knowledgeable and caring.....others not so much. I placed a call to the store to inquire about a product for my cats and the women on the other end of the line was simply rude. When she told me that the product I wanted was not in stock I ask when some would arrive and he comment was "Oh I dont do any ordering, I just work up front...the man that does the ordering is out of town". I felt like I had just been scolded for interrupting her by calling the store. Learned my lesson here....I will find another store to do business with. There was no call for her tone on the phone.

If it were possible to post a review with NO stars thats what I would be doing. They rave about the fact that their groomer is a "master groomer", I have a miniature schnauzer and I always brush her out before taking her in because I know it can be a job. The price for grooming is regularly $35. and I always tip. Theresa used to groom my dog and she was good but now she is the manager of the store. I picked up my little girl today and had to pay $91.00. I dont like surprises like this! The first time the new "master groomer" did her I wasnt happy but took her home and trimmed her brows myself. This was the second time! I WILL NOT GO BACK!
