Ive frequented PetSmarts for the past 10 years and have been going to this PetSmart for boarding and pet supplies for the past year. Today I attempted to use grooming services but that was an epic fail. I showed up 10 minutes before the appointment was to begin. I walked in two two women behind the counter working on the computers and two women in line. After waiting 15 minutes, the tiny 10x5 waiting space was full with 7 people, 5 dogs, a cat, and a baby. The women behind the counter kept asking us to be patient since a new operating system was in place, but I find it really hard to believe they had any concern for the customers standing in that tiny space since only one of them was directly helping anyone physically in front of them. The other woman with access to a computer was fidgeting with someones else reservation and had post-it notes she kept referencing. Im not sure why they couldnt have check-in everyone that was waiting in the room and so I point blank asked if they were going to be able to check my dog in within the next ten minutes (that would have brought a total wait time to 25 minutes for check-in alone). All this girl could say is that they would get to us as soon as possible. With that crap-tastic attitude and response I left. I asked to speak to a manager on my way out but that didnt happen. I waited 5 minutes and decided I had enough of this place for the day. I called back later only to find out the store manager was on the premise but didnt respond and the current manager asked how she could fix the problem. Seriously? Hire better people and stop blaming a computer for terrible customer service. I wouldnt trust my dogs there ever again and wont be doing business with PetSmart.

At first I absolutely loved PetSmart. The customer service was fantastic, there was a great variety of animals (and I loved to look at them since Im an animal lover myself), the animals seemed to be well-taken care of, etc. About a year ago I got my hamster, Hammy, food, and a cage. Everything went well for about a year until a few days ago when I did a routine cleaning on his cage. I got his cage absolutely spotless and ready for him to go back in. This is where things went wrong. I put Hammy back in his cage and picked it up to put it back into my room. I walked a couple of steps and BAM, the top of the cage literally broke off and Hammy and the shavings went EVERYWHERE. Hammy ran away of course because he got scared. He went into my room, and in my room there is an open vent. Well, the gist of this story is that my innocent hamster basically ran into the vent and is dead because of poor manufacturing of these cages. I got an expensive cage too. So please, animal lovers and people buying a new animal that requires a new cage - please, make sure that the cage is well built. Or this could possibly happen to your precious animal too.

I give a three star because I do love their dog trainer and she is working wonders with me to teach my puppy. Now the people who work in the fish section are absolutely clueless and not trained well at all. I wasnt able to write down the prices for some fish I saw earlier but I remembered what they were called. I called them to see how much they were so I could get an estimate in my head. Well they say they dont carry 2 out of 3 fish I asked about even though I saw them just 3 hours ago.... They need to be better trained in their knowledge in fish and to know more about the fish they carry. Also the girl I spoke to over the phone was very rude and talking to others and making jokes and telling people how cute their kids are while I am trying ask some questions. Petsmart please educate your people more and teach them about good customer service. Its not that hard to learn about the fish you sell and to take a peak to see of you have them. I know there are many species of fish but you dont sell a lot that it would be hard.

I brought in my dog to have his claws trimmed. I had just gotten him comfortable with the idea of getting his claws trimmed, but when the groomers at Petsmart did it, they held him down forcefully to grab his paws and do it as fast as possible. It scared him to death. He was crying the whole time. I had brought him some treats hoping to do some positive reinforcement while trimming his claws, but they wouldnt allow him to have them, which I guess I understand? But he wouldnt let me touch his paws afterwards, but from what I could see, the claws were split pretty badly and they even missed one of them. I dont feel that I could trust Petsmart to do any services for my dog if they cant even trim his claws without traumatizing him.

I am traveling and needed to have my Maltese groomed. I took him here and the groomer accidentally nicked/cut (a small cut) his tummy while trimming his hair. They were extremely professional and took care of it at their in store Vet office, and called me to let me know what happened. I was so impressed with the service even though that minor thing happened. The manager was very kind and they took care of my dog, better than i would have ever expected. I was not charged for anything and he left still a happy well groomed dog! I would still take him there again if i travel here. Wonderful staff and groomers. Vet office is amazing, kind and my dog was happy when i picked him up.

If i could give zero stars i would have. I have been taking my dog to petsmart for grooming for years. This time when i picked up my dog he has a large red streak about 2" wide and 3 or 4 " long along his back where he had been shaved to the skin. When I asked about it they said I was imagining it and the hair that was there was just wet from the flea treatment they used. He has had the same treatment before and never had this. Mercedes was the groomer and i will tell anyone and everyone to stay away from this salon. I will never go back. It was bad enough they messed up the groom, but didnt accept responsibility for their mistake.

DOGGY DAY CAMP: surprisingly the best doggy daycare Ive experienced. They feed her on time, they are all under constant supervision, and in the evening I see them deck scrubbing the floor, walls, and play equipment. Naia always seems happy afterward and sleeps a lot. They put them in appropriate play rooms according to their size. When we drop her off shes excited to see the employees and will jump and lick them....and once they take her leash she is off and doesnt look back. Thats how I know they treat her good and she has a great time while shes there. Will continue to bring her.

Unbelievable, on-going out of stock issues in this store. The employees have an answer ready for when new stock will be available...we dont know, and there is no way to find out. This store seemed more on their game when we had another major competitor in town. Ill waste my time driving to another store, rather than do what this store thinks and that is the customer will make another selection at this store. Get your act together. You have enough front-end scanner information to keep your store stocked well...use it.
