Dont buy in Pedals Bike Shop! They are mean. I went 20 minutes before than they close the shop. 6.10 PM. I had a flat tire. They usually fix it in 5 minutes, maximum 10. It was my 3rd time there. They told me let the wheel and tomorrow come back. I told him I had to drive 20 minutes. So I was going to lose 40 minutes and money in gas. I told him than in internet the horary is until 6.30 PM. I told him I wanted to speak with the boss about it and another person went out telling me he is the boss. He told me go out of my shop, Im the owner, in america ...bla bla bla I didnt understand very well because my english is not the best. He was not nice. I think he was not the boss and if he was I didnt know any boss who treat to the customers like that. He loses a present and a future customer, he loses money. But maybe he was a worker. The bosses usually want to earn money in their business and are nicer with the customers. So he told me finally I can buy the replacement. Now I say .. like you told me, we are in America ... I can opine the mean that I was treated there. I hope the real boss read this. Bad people, bad bussines, bad customer care . No the worker with the beard, he is nice. Cara winner says in one comment: I own 18 bicycles, ride daily and spend thousands a year on bikes and parts. I will never set foot in that shop again. If you want to stay afloat in this competitive business where mail order bike websites dominate then you need to provide something they cannot do and thats brick & mortar customer service. Heres a few alternate choices: Cyclery usa, Dons Bikes, and Woodcrest Bikes. Good Luck

Im only in Riverside for 6 mo. Based on the great reviews, I went there looking for a 6-mo. lease or something. Jason, the owner, said hed sell me a bike for about $270, & buy it back for $75-125. Not bad, I guess, but I was hoping for a better deal, so I asked him to let me know if a suitable used bike came in. On a Sat. he contacted me about a great-sounding deal, for $100 that he would buy back for $50. He said that it was old, but it would be all fixed up & work perfectly. On Tue. I told him Id be in on Thurs. to get it. He said great. Cash only with no receipt. Hmm, a little shady. I left work early to take the bus to his shop (I dont have a car here), dressed in bike shorts, carrying my helmet, with my $100 in hand. When I got there, it looked like a nice bike. He said the front shifter didnt work, the rear one might go any time, the rear tire was very low (possibly leaking) as he hadnt checked it, & that if he had to replace the shifters with modern ones instead of old ones kicking around the shop, hed have to charge me more than $100. And of course the bike would not be ready that day. I told him to call me about what the new price would be, & that I would come back on Saturday (today). However, Ive changed my mind. Ive been shabbily treated. The bus round trip is about 1.5 hrs. He never contacted me to tell me the bike was not as expected, or to tell me it wasnt ready as promised. I dont know if I trust him to buy it back in 6 mo. Im not doing business with this guy.

This shop really is for everyone, from the cycle enthusiast to the beginner, like me, just starting out. The guys that work there took really good care of me when I purchased one of their new "Giant" road bicycles, a helmet and a light set. My wife bought hers there a couple months back and highly recommended I check them out. An hour after I made my purchase, my bike was perfectly tuned and ready to go! Well, about a month after my purchase I acquired a flat, I took my bike back in there and the owner himself hooked me up with everything I needed to get me moving again as well as took the extra time to hip me to some things about how to better lessen my chances of future flats. I will always recommend this awesome little shop to anyone looking to buy a bike or accessories or even just to ask questions about the sport as they all ride from what I gathered and really know their stuff. From my family to yours, a loyal customer for life, thanks to everyone at Pedals Bike shop, wishing you many years of success!

Stopped by this shop to see if they could chase some threads on a bottom bracket with a tool I couldnt afford ($500). As a experienced mechanic I know it would take all of one minute to do. The mechanic was all set to do it when the owner came in and said I would have to leave it because he didnt have time to do it. I t would have taken longer to write up the invoice for me to leave the part than to just do the job. I walked out of the shop and went down the street to another bike shop and they did it right on the spot for $20 for two minutes of work. I own 18 bicycles, ride daily and spend thousands a year on bikes and parts. I will never set foot in that shop again. Went in and bought some tubes from Jason. Was very mocking of my wifes and I limited bike knowledge. The tube I bought was faulty and when I went back to return it he was very unhelpful. Was told he coudnt do anything for me and he wasnt liable for selling me a bad tube. Also took in a bike that needed a new chain. Sold me one that was for a 12 speed and not my 10 speed. Then upon my return tried to sell me a chain breaker instead of the new correct chain. Was overall just trying to sell more and more. Went to cycle usa off tyler. The staff there was way more helpful and didnt try and take advantage of me. Wont return to pedals again for anything. Jason sure knows how to lose a customer for life. My family will not be returning.

Jason and the guys at Pedals offer what every cyclist hopes for in a bike shop. By the time Id vislted twice I felt like Norm entering Cheers -- known, welcomed, and catered to. From beginner to serious cyclist, they work with you to customize your cycling experience to fit your needs. Theyve helped with my road bike, my sons BMX bike, and helped us find a great hybrid for my wife. Just today, Jason knew the inside scoop on an excellent child carrier for my 2 yr old daughter. PLUS, they supported our churchs community ride, have a program to help emancipated youth acquire bikes for transportation to school and work, and even spearheaded the shut down of a local prostitution parlor near the bike shop. These guys are awesome!
