One of the few surviving Kinokuniya Bookstores our area. I love coming here, but they do not allow beverages inside the store. I always find myself with a drink when I stroll by the plaza, so keep that in mind when you visit. Kinokuniya has really great calendars toward December and into January. Everything sold in the stationery section seems curated to sell the most interesting products related to reading, writing, or drawing. Check this bookstore out after visiting Marukai Market down below.

They have a great selection of both English and Japanese books. The Japanese language learning section includes all of the best tools available on the market. Their stationary section has tons of cute imports direct from Japan. The prices can be a bit steep but you cant beat the quality of their products. Theres plenty of manga to be had in both English and Japanese.Try the Tea Forte in the Cafe Zaiya on the upper level. If youre lucky you can get a seat overlooking Bryant Park.

If you dont like Dog Eared Books you are a dumb ass poppy pants. THERE. Now I feel better, it had to be said. Member your life has gotten too busy trying to achieve stuff. A trip to Dog Eared might rejuvenate your soul and put you back in touch with that inner being, that person who could while away the hours stroking remaindered art books. Peel yourself off the stress ceiling to browse and buy at Dog Eared. Then find time to read a book. Its a good thing.You can thank me now.

A very neat and organized bookstore. Definitely the place to look for when buying manga (Raws especially!). However, if you want to look through a manga before buying, do that online beforehand, as this bookstore keeps their manga in plastic.(Which explains the great condition the manga is in.) It has a VERY wide selection so theres plenty to choose from, but I suggest to shop quick, since it can get stuffy quick in hot weather. Overall, a definite favorite store to shop at.

Everything about this store is great.The wo whole stories of bookshelves.The colorful and fun staff selection cards with great recommendations.A friendly and knowledgeable staff.The book signings with some pretty cool authors from all over the literary spectrum.A huge parking lot/garage, which is awesome for being right smack in the middle of downtown.And a coffee shop to boot the lavender lemonade is so good!. This place definitely helps "Keep Austin Weird."

Im one of those browse around, but never buy anything guys. Sorry Strand. I have never purchased ANYTHING from you. I just go to the art and photo section and try to draw inspiration. Plus you have autographed Gregory Crewdson, double score. The prices of the art and photo books here dont seem too steep, but steep enough for a freelance photographer like myself to not spend any money here.

Amazing place. CA deserves a bookstore like this. I have been to stores all over the country on book tour and only a handful compare to this wonderful place. They have just about everything. I like the way they are organized, too, and the great titles they feature on the main floor: not just the newest books, but really worthy ones from the past 10-50 years.

So. Much. Stationery. I cant say much about the book selection, but the store is much larger than the Kinokuniya location in Marina del Rey (inside of Mitsuwa). They have a great selection of pens, pencils, notebooks, and binders. Ive never seen so many gridded notebooks in one place, so this makes the store another haven for me :^).

Service, It depends on sales representative. Most of sales representative is very unfriendly, I feel like city office administrator. Very cold, dont smile and they try to not speak. They are NOT a service person. You need a service training to all of your sales representative such like what is the hospitality business should be.

Huge selection of mangas and anime art books. Even has some anime figures. Has English and Japanese languages mangas and magazines. All books are wrapped in plastic, making them stay in new condition. Store is located on the second floor in the small outside mall. Great place to find that one manga you are looking for.

There is no other bookstore like this (so far). This is a great independent bookstore that is in Weller Court in Little Tokyo. It has a lot of books for everyone, and includes a lot of literature/books/gifts/stationery dealing with Japan, Japanese and Japanese American culture. I love going in there and just browsing.

Very refreshing to walk into this amazing bookstore that has a great selection for all walks of life. I also appreciate the openness of the store as well, especially on a hot Los Angeles day. I regret not buying the Larry Clark book I found but I look forward to going back and see what I can get my hands on.

Ive only been in here 3 times, but have fallen in love with the place! For all those anime, and manga lovers Im sure youll be able to find a few things youll love or even take home. They also have figures, plushies, keychains and Cds. Even if youre just window shopping this is the place to go to :)

This is a fabulous bookstore with a wide selection of spiritual, New Age, and esoteric literature. The owner is friendly and will help you find what youre looking for. If youre just browsing, something from their comprehensive selection will surely suggest itself! Definitely worth a visit.

This place has an amazing selection of books, all of which are reasonably priced. They even have a graphic novel section, which i think is pretty cool. Odds are if you know what youre looking for, they probably have it. And even if you dont, browsing their selection is super fun.

Ive been coming here since I was a kid. The best place anywhere for Japanese periodicals, books, and videos. I am a musician and teacher. This is the best place I know of to find traditional Japanese video of bunraku etc... Very unusual things. A treasure.

The perfect bookstore for this neighborhood. Whoever the buyer is, he or she is excellent. Its hard to leave the store without buying at the very least two or more books. Excellent magazine selection as well. Cafe wonderful all of it is fantastic.
