I thought going to the mall was a thing of the past and something to only remember as a good way to spend an afternoon until I first visited the Crenshaw mall and found out how sorley mistaken I was. Unlike all the malls I have grown up to know as nothing more than failed experiments of the eighties and ninties or fads that have ran their social course in America the one in Crenshaw stands out. It stands out for one reason and one reason alone; people still go to this mall. This is the determining factor in whether the walls will keep being repainted or knocked down, the people who walk between them and chance that theyll do it again. For some reason unlike every other mall I used to know this mall keeps everybody coming back and therefore keeps the business booming and the fun ensuing. There is a great food court and an Orange Julius to boot, I think I remember seeing a Miss Fields Cookies but I cant be sure. Every store is in business and unlike the other malls not just going out. Going to the Crenshaw mall is like stepping into a time warp to a world without the internet and anytime I get a chance to live in a world like that is a chance I like to take.

This theater was cool, the 3D theater was really high quality, much brighter than the Arclite in Culver City. This is important since youre basically watch through sunglasses. The price was really good compared to the 20+ dollars for most 3D movies these days. It would totally be a 5 star establishment if they would hire a few more janitors. The place literally has trash spilling out of everywhere you looked. There were just piles of trash and wrappers all over the check stands, the floor in the concession area was covered in like an entire pop corn machines worth of pop corn along with trash. In the theater there was trash coming out from under every seat. To be honest I didnt really care, it didnt impact the movie which looked amazing.

I dont understand why most of the restaurants are closed on Mondays (except IHOP) besides that the BHC is slowly growing on me. I love they have a Wells Fargo with tons of ready tellers, I love the fact they have a ton of free parking (covered and non covered), and I love the fact that its multiple entry points that cut down on incoming and outgoing traffic. They do have a farmers market on Saturdays which is super posh right by the movie theaters. They also have tons of shops within the mall. Im excited for the next shop to take over the closed Walmart (praying for a Target). Super chill place to shop and they even have the Museum of African American Art.

In the 2 years that I lived in the area, the Farmers Market moved twice. Not a big problem. The produce options can be a bit better, and the hot food options can be a lot better. On my last visit, they were down to only 2 food vendors, Super Salads (kale salads, and fruit juices), and the tamale woman. The malls food court is small too, but offers more choices. There were other food vendors that appeared for short periods of time. There are vendors of spices, beauty products, a massage station, and health care vendors. There is music played on loud speakers, and an occasional live musician. Overall, this should have more food vendors than goods, and services.

I used to come to this plaza a lot when Walmart was there. Walmart was a big draw for the plaza. When Walmart left, I stopped coming. Returning today to go to TJMaxx, the plaza seemed lively with lots of young people. However it seems to me the merchants are suffering from lack of business. A shoe place I used to buy from is closing its doors in September. I suspect more merchants will follow as the Metro construction project mosies along. As Sears and Macys are the remaining long time mainstays of the plaza, I think the plaza will have a hard time recovering if they close. The plaza is still a nice place to visit and shop.

We packed our own snacks for the movies, we did order 6 large Popcorn you cant get enough of there PC. Did some shopping for 2 up coming B-days. Went to Toys R us for 3 of my G-Babies doing so well at school and let them did their on thing. The only thing what was wrong the 40 bus needs a temp. BusStop! before it gets to Crenshaw & signs for the Baldwin Hills Shoppers! The Metro Co. Is down stairs, Since the bus stop is so far from MLK Blvd. Metro & the Mall should accommodate information inside the mall for the ones who uses bus to go enjoy the MLK Mall. Shoot a shuttle would be nice

Last night the Information /Customer Service Rep was WONDERFUL! Very helpful and professional. I was looking for specific hair care items and she HIGHLY recommended a "The Beauty Supply Plus Club" and directed me on where to find it in the mall. She was "On Point" Cant thank her enough because I didnt have time to run around town. The Beauty Supply Club is a GREAT beauty supply store. They have everything! They are also reasonably priced, fantastic supplies, resources the black/latino community VERY well and EXCELLENT customer service. I will certainly be back!

Its your basic mall ..I like it.. just need a few more stores..they closed down Walmart.. but.prob was planned.. way before.. now a tjmaxx just another store that is an unnecessary and is really not needed what was needed was the Walmart Kmart probably a Big Lots anything to help save money but of course that strategically removed from this ZIP code as well so anyway it doesnt matter where Walmart goes Im going with Walmart .. just need some really basic good stores instead of putting the stores that nobody talks or even shops at that much

The Macys here tends to carry larger sizes more than smaller sizes, so Ive never actually purchased anything there, on top of the fact that its constantly a mess and nothing is where its supposed to be. The mall itself is ok, its recently been renovated but still many of the shops are lower end fast fashion, like forever 21 and charlotte russe. If youre looking for more expensive brands, head over to Westfield Culver City. Farmers market on Saturday mornings is nice. Its clean inside, just doesnt have the types of shops I purchase from.

I been going for years and even if the stores change once in a while, the atmosphere is always welcoming. They offer free exercises classes and hold events on a regular basis with guest performances and seasonal events. The food court has expanded over the years offering a diverse choice of foods for a reasonable price, and even some upscale restaurants in the mall with great music to pass the time. Plus its close to the movie theater and local business so you can shop, eat and unwind without going to far.

GOD bless Everyone. Saw Kingsman The Golden Circle. The audience applauded at the end. The Movie Theater has these fun seats that move around when youre viewing the action scenes. Staff is friendly. Love also the Black History Month Festivities and Booths. Nice Museum there too. Stores can be a little pricey but I guess thats why Wal-Mart couldnt last in one of the richest areas of the world: Baldwin Hills, Leimert, Windsor Hills, Vista, LaDera and LaDerra Heights... Great neighborhood, friendly people!
