This is a subterranean (partly exposed) retail mall thar primarily serves the captive employee audience around LA City Hall/City Hall East/City Hall South, LAPD HQ, 9-1-1 Center, County buildings, etc. It runs parallel to and between Main Street and Los Angeles Street, under City Hall East up to Bowron Square, with part of the mall underneath Temple Street. There are entrance points from the street at both ends: stairs/escalator midblock between 1st & Temple on Spring and Main; stairs/elevator midblock between Temple and Arcadia on Spring and Main (ADA lift on Main.) There is also an entrance from level 1 of City Hall East. Not a destination type place. Fairly unattractive. Begging for rehab. Mostly mediocre fast casual food (Sbarros, Quiznos, Robeks-type juice/coffee spot and worse) plus a bad dry cleaner. Mediocre Rite-Aid. LADOT/DASH store. Lotto/newstand. BTC (only people who do entitlements would use it.) Shoe repair and California Pita both highly recommended. Underground parking is priced for City Hall office visitors and therefore too expensive for anyone really wanting to shop. Many stores will not validate. It fills a need, but not particularly well and definitely not with any style.

I agree with the general consensus; this is - for all intents & purposes - a "dead mall" complete with a - sometimes AGGRESSIVE - homeless population despite having a small police substation (obviously, theyre only located in one part of the mall so the homeless hang around the rest of the mall areas! Stay away unless you liked being attacked verbally and, occasionally - per the news media - sometimes physically. Sad since LA was supposed to "revitalize" downtown ("the 10 & Southern LA/Main St Area") which obviously did not include this Mall; very apparent! CVS & Sbarro are [basically] the ONLY 2 notable "residents.". To be honest, Im shocked they have not fled yet but Im sure they will eventually! No "Anchors" Im aware of: Macys, Dillards, Pennys, even [financially, seriously, struggling] Sears Corp., etc.

Tiene bueno la farmacia CVS. Y SBarro. Atentos serviciales completos.

Completely unrelated to the actually quality of the place, but more just happiness that the place actually exists. Why?I just find it amusing that there is a Los Angeles Mall on Los Angeles Street in Los Angeles. So there is literally a LA LA land, and theres a mall there. Theres a mall off in LA LA land, and everyone who works there is off in LA LA land. So if you go shopping there, someone can look at you and ask you, "Where were you all day?" and you can say, "I was off in LA LA land." My funny bone is tickled.

The food is horrible. We were there for a Safety Convention, very expensive, but oddly I would not have minded that if it had been decent. The bread was so stale on my sandwich and with the turnover and amount of people being served you would not have expected that. I actually spent almost $15.00 for sandwich, chips and a drink. The sandwich I through away. I am sure the same vendors are there for every event. So a word to the wise. Pack a lunch.

I work in this area and this place has really gone downhill (not that it was ever any good). Too bad the city of LA would rather waste its money on occupy cleanup while this place needs a major overhaul. Dont recommend unless you have jury duty across the street or are working nearby, There is a good pita/kabob place here. Definitely try them but the rest of the place has homeless people laying around...and LAPD has an office right there! Go figure.

As far as malls go, youll want to avoid this one if you dont need to stop there. Its literally a 1960s era hole in the ground that you wouldnt know was there unless you are one of the government employees working nearby. It does have a post office and several reasonably priced places to eat. If you do eat there, dont toss your leftovers. One of the homeless regulars that hang there or the Triforium above it will gladly take it off your hands.

I wouldnt really call this a mall.. maybe at one point it was, but now its more of a food court with a bunch of closed down shops. The food choices are ok, if you work around the area. There is a really good Philippino restaurant called Pili, which serves delicious rice bowls and other Philippino food. I wouldnt recommend this place as a destination, but if you are around and looking for a quick bite its not too bad.

The place is a little run-down but its definitely a Los Angeles Landmark its very close to the police station and I believe the court building. It has a public transportation information place inside there thats pretty good if youre a person who relies on public transportation and the CVS there is actually really friendly and one of the best ones that Ive gone inside. In the food court has pretty decent food

Worst mall in downtown! it literally looks like a ghost town, homeless everywhere, so damn empty and creepy. i went on weekday around 4 pm and all the food court was closing already... is it that bad of an area??? and they charged us 3 dollars for parking for 15 minutes in a place where there was absolutely nothing to do... I seriously RECOMMEND YOU TO DONT EVEN CONSIDER GOING THERE.

Its a strip mall with government services a few food places , not a mall with shops to browse. You wont find Forever 21 or Victoria Secret here but you will find Qwench a nice juice bar that has a variety of good, tasty options. Ive tried the Acai original bowl and the N bowl as well as the Matcha green juice. A bit pricey but worth it.

This is not a mall. There are only 3-4 good places to eat, CVS and 2-3 service relates businesses. Unfortunately the City of Los Angeles has not made efforts to update and fill vacancies. If you are looking for good food and can overlook the lack of atmosphere, there are a couple nice restaurants. Only open M-F during work hours.

Was expecting a typical mall located in down town los angeles but instead found a food court with los Angeles police department and insurance as main business there. Food court looked shabby with a relic quiznos still in operation. Parking is extremely high @$2.50/20 mins ( 7.50/hr. ) Does not deserve a recommendation.

while youre not going to find the latest fashions down in the underground LA Mall, its a unique location and worth a stop if youre in the neighbourhood. a few food options and some local government offices round out the shops on offer, but a quick walk through if youre near the downtown LA courthouse is probably worth it!

I wouldnt by any means call this place a mall as the only thing you can do is eat. I thought to myself while trying to wolf down as much of the giagantic foot long pile of dough I was getting pummeled by I looked up and saw a courtyard surrounding me. This made me ask the question why not just call it a food court?
