Totally ridiculous! I braved the rain, wind, and cold to get a few sale items from the Oakland store, only to find out theyre NOT EVEN OPEN yet!!! And I only found this out from squeezing my way through a fence and reading a SMALL SIGN on the front door. One would think that after a few years of construction, itd be ready to go by now. Not even close! Literally, the lights were on but no one was home. They should put a big sign on the street side of the store to let people know its not open yet. Oh yeah! And you cant access the store from the street side either. Now my feet are soaking wet from having to walk back to the bus stop and stand outside for a long time. Urrgh.

Ive have mixed feelings about this place. Most of the time, the place is under stocked. If the item is listed in the weekly ad, dont expect to find it. The vast majority of the staff are incompetent buffoons who either stare blankly when posed a simple question, or move slower than traffic on the bay bridge. However, I had one experience with an employee going above and beyond to help me. 5 stars for him! And oh yeah, dont bother going to the sandwich counter. Get this: my friend wanted a sandwich. I shopped, rang out, went to chipotle, went to my car, and came back. He was still second in line. There were only 3 people ordering sandwiches. PATHETIC.

This store is nice and clean and easy to navigate, but the staff is NOT HELPFUL AT ALL. I couldnt find anyone around the produce or the bulk bin sections to ask a question. And when I went to check out, I got terrible treatment from the cashier. She rang me up and charged me, but didnt help me bag my groceries at all -- and then just went on to ringing up the next customer while my groceries were still all over the place! So I was scrambling as fast as I could to bag my groceries because I was causing a traffic jam, but that traffic jam was not my fault! It was the cashiers inefficiency and lack of consideration. Hire some better employees please.

Website and big sign on top of building says opening Jan 13th. I went there today. Sandwiches from the deli are $3.99 and $4.99 before tax at time of this post. I got a chicken salad sandwich WITH bacon for $4.99. Best way to describe Sprouts is its like Trader Joes with a bakery, butcher and deli. Prices are like Trader Joes (and not like Whole Foods). Oakland needs more supermarkets. Thanks Sprouts for bringing a supermarket and 61 jobs (they had 61 positions posted for this store months before opening) to the area. Badly needed a much appreciated.

I love this store and all the healthy options they have. But I do have an issue with the sercurity in Sprouts the big black pit bull security.( Im black myself) Im down in California visiting my dad and I notice every time we go into sprouts the security is watching only the black people including me and my dad. I have never been a theif nor my father and to watch as though Im stealing makes me so angry. I wont be shopping at this location again. They need to put those pit bulls in the back so paying customers dont feel intimidated.

Nice, brand new store in a convenient location with lots of parking. Shelves were well-stocked and they had very reasonable prices (especially on meat - surprisingly low for organic chicken and pork). Only somewhat weird part of the experience was at checkout: 1) there were 7-8 workers standing around the checkout registers, and 2) they seemed to be somewhat angry/non communicative with each other because when one bagger asked the checker to “scan the boxes” first, he completely ignored him. Very strange…

I am so happy that my favorite health food store has made its way up to the Bay. As a native Southern Cali girl, I am very familiar with Sprouts and I love this grocery store. Although it does have a chain like feel, its not like the Big box stores that have fruit from God knows where. Sprout has fresh fruits & vegetables that will knock your socks off and if youre into taking supplements like me.... They have hug selection with great prices!!! Again, I am sooooo excited that sprouts is in my neighborhood!

What can I say, Sprouts is supplementary at best to some tried and true East Bay standards for grocery stores that already have my trust. I have been going to Farmer Joes for a long while now. And I can also call Berkeley Bowl my second home having lived in Berkeley for a number of years. Sprouts can not mask its chain-like appearance, no matter how gracious the staff or how crisp that bulk section looks. The prices are good for certain, but I do not see my self there on a regular basis.

Sprouts has reasonable price goods that doesnt leave your wallet empty. Double Wednesday are a good deal too along with coupons from their in-store booklet. Good layout of the place with signs above for each department. Self touring with cart is best when undecided. Workers are nice or at least try to be even though theyre not. Its pretty easy to go in with $25 budget, but you can surpass it, if you dont have a set shopping plan. Parking is level garage parking with elevator.

I had a tour of place along with some city officials on media day before it was open to the public. Special invited guest get a gift certificate good for anything with no expiration date. Took me about fifteen visit to finish certificate. Nothing special here just a ordinary grocery store with commercial and some organic goods. Rooftop parking with picnic benches to eat before driving off. Security guard is funny and helpful providing services beyond his call of duty.

I love Sprouts! This location is much bigger than some of the other locations Ive been. I love how nicely the store flows and everything seems to always been nicely stocked. Bulk foods are plentiful and so is their produce. Everything is well priced and I would say, comparable to a Whole Foods or a Trader Joes. Theres ample parking and nice little picnic benches for you to enjoy your sandwich or whatever you happened to get from the deli!

I purchased 2 bottles of cheap wines, shelf price was 2.99 per bottle, cashier scanned at 3.33 per bottle. I paid 3.33 per bottle. I thought my eyes were bad and went to the shelf to find out, took a picture to confirm, went back to cashier, she wouldn‘t do anything, went to the manager, she signed on the receipts and promised to give me a credit for my next purchase. I don‘t think I will shop at this place again.

I really wanted to like this place more, but it is pretty mediocre. They have a good bulk section, but their fresh fish counter is pretty low quality and the organic produce is overpriced. Packaged products are a mixed bag - I saw some things that were well priced and some that were more expensive than other markets. Their brewed coffee is cheap but really not good.

Management blames employees for their own shortcomings and inexperience. Severely understaffed and underpaid. Good employees are overworked to the point of burn out. Freezer and warehouse capacity is way to small for the backstock. Store manager has strange body odor and sounds like a broken record of one hit wonders. Store music is never changed and on a loop.
