Experience with the Apple store was not good. Very frustrating. The staff were disorganized and impatient They would not make an appointment for personal help in the store, but promised to call with technical support that would solve the problems. They called ten minutes later than they promised, and the representative was not audible. The call was cut off and no one called back. I tried to call to make an appointment, but got through to a machine. I would like to receive personal help with my I Phone and computer. I had understood that the "Genius Bar" could provide this help. I also needed glass protection for the phone, and they were finally able to do that, but to get help with this, I had to chase down an employee, and it took quite a bit of time for the employee to get the supplies he needed in order to affix the protection. The Berkeley store needs better organization so that customers can get the help they need. Perhaps a contact person in the front of the store who can direct the customer to the appropriate staff member or who can make an apppointment for those who need extended help. I had bought the Apple product because I had understood that Apple actually provided customer support.

My husband and I went in to check on pricing and plans for upgrading our iphones. Not only did the sales person assigned to help us give us inaccurate information, but he was distracted by dogs in the store and left us to go pet and admire a dog - and then shared pictures with the dog owner. It was frustrating and a waste of time. The sales person pushed us to sign up for the monthly rate, for an iphone 6s. When I mentioned the pricing Id researched for a trade-in with my current service provider, he said I was wrong. I was also wrong about a few other things Id researched, according to this fellow. Well, we thanked him for his "help" and left. I think he shook hands with us 3 times, which was also unnecessary. When I got home, I went on line and found information that contrasted with what wed been told by the Apple sales rep. This morning, my husband went to a store of our current service provider and verified that the research Id done was accurate. So either the apple store dude was ignorant or a liar, neither is good.

What happened here? It will take 1 week [really, a full week] before I can leave my 2 year old MacBook Pro to get looked at for a black screen...not fixed...looked at. I swear they used to be able to help me up on the spot until 8 pm. Im talking, listen to the issue and let me leave the computer. Seems like there are fewer geniuses and they work shorter hours. Now if you work...you have to get there early: 6 pm to speak to someone not trying to sell you something. Want to buy something? That is until 8 pm. Seems there are major cutbacks at Apple. I cant get an appointment at either 4th Street or Corte Madera until next Monday...morning. Seems like they dont understand folks work and drive two hours to get home to the East Bay. Id have to leave work at 4:00 pm. Once I wasnt buying anything, I was handed off to a kind of uninvolved...[and young] person. Pretty understanding. Insistented that I try San Francisco. Now that is a time saver. Id lose half a day at work. Very disappointed.

Thank you Anjanna! You were great! We just want to let Apple know that after reading all the reviews of the Apple Stores, we werent too excited about the customer service comments and considered buying online and having our product shipped to us just to avoid the recurring nightmare themes we had read. Instead we decided to suck it up and go to the 4th Street store. We thought our chances might be the best crowd-wise if we arrived when the store opened. We were right. Few customers were there, but lots of "blue shirts." We were greeted at the door and the representative asked Anjanna to assist us. She was friendly and helpful, listened to what we wanted and helped us decide on the right product to meet our needs even taking the time to help us set everything up. By the time the store became crowded with customers we were set up and ready to go. We didnt experience any of the downside people said in the reviews we read. Thank you, again, Anjanna! You made our experience top notch.

My in-store experiences have always been positive and rewarding. However, DO NOT TRY TO CONTACT THIS STORE BY PHONE. First, you will get a voice-activated application that assures you it will understand your inquiry. When, after 2 tries, it fails to do so, it transfers you to a human. If you have the presence of mind to ask, you will find out that you are not in fact speaking to the store whose number you dialled--but rather to someone at a call center. Once you explain, yet again, why you were attempting to reach the store by phone, you will be transferred--supposedly to the store--where you will wait on hold for 9 minutes. Dont know what happens after this, because I hung up. Got tired of hearing Johnny Cash relaying in song why he walks the line. So, how should I rate this store when the in-person experience was consistently great (5 stars) but the telephonic communications were abysmal (1 star, max)? Ill split the difference and give it 3 stars.

I cant believe how rude the manager Greg Hobson from 4th St Berkeley CA was to me the genius was not the best attitude but I dont mind that but the manager was called out because the genius could not figure out the problem with my iPhone 4S (it kept dropping the Wi-Fi all the time) so when manager Greg Hobson came out to try help he had one thing to say to me We Cant Find The Problem on The iPhone Sorry AND THATS IT! He just keep repeating the some thing back and back over again so I got mad now ok I got this $400 iPhone that does not work on Wi-Fi I said thats BS! this is what he said to We Cant Find The Problem on The iPhone Sorry And If You Going To Curse At Me I Wont Talk To You! So He gave me hes card after i said I well Complain about your attitude and walk off!The week After that I want to the Apple Store Chestnut Street got a replacement iPhone in 15min and got the usually friendly Apple Vibe too! Dont Know What his Probelm was but very ignorant guy!

I took my iPad here to be looked at regarding battery/charging issue. I was told it would be $249 for a refurbished replacement or $349 for a brand new replacement. Was just about to our purchase the refurbished replacement, but I said let me check around since it was back to school time, and I might possibly find a better deal. I checked no better deals in other physical stores. Went online and saw GameStop would be a better deal. I was checking the Apple Website for specs, and ran across a blog, where when other paid $99 for battery replacement went, apple would just send our a refurbished unit which looked practically brand new. So I followed the link to the Apple Battery repair sure, prepaid $99, mailed on day 1, they received, repaired/swapped, mailed back to me on day 2, and I received the Like new refurbished iPad Air on Day 3. 3 days to save $149 plus tax.
