First off, I have very rarely had an issue with customer service here. The few times I have had issues with products or their availability it has been addressed in a satisfying way. Their cashiers are always much more friendly and personable than most are used to at regular grocery/department stores. They do a wonderful job of keeping product stocked even during their most busy hours, on their most busy days. Two pretty heavy complaints stand. First is that, like others mentioned, their parking situation is very poor. They pack more parking spaces in than are safe, and it makes it difficult to park even average sized vehicles. I drive a motorcycle, and Ive taken to parking in the farthest spaces to avoid being smeared across the pavement by either a larger vehicle or an older driver that would never even notice me. I cant imagine pedestrians trying to cross the parking lot have any better luck than I have on my loud, well-lit motorcycle. Granted this isnt entirely the fault of Costco, only that they poorly planned the layout of the parking lot. Second is that their gas station always has absurdly long lines during regular times. I have never seen a regular gas station ever sport the lines they have, and I dont even visit them during what could be considered spike hours. This could be because of their customer base, but also I feel that better planning would have prevented this. Not only would more pumps be very beneficial, but also their layout can be quite confusing for the older drivers (of which you will find many at Costco). On the other hand, their attendants are very helpful if you ever need assistance, and I have never had any trouble with their equipment. Lastly, their customers get packed in like sardines unless you explicitly plan your shopping times. You will be constantly either crashing into other customers, be in someones way, and similar situations - no matter where you are in the store. With a building that size, this is quite a feat. This can be very discouraging with the customers that they attract, which tend to be... I hate to say... entitled rich people. Not the easiest to interact with. Evenings at times when most get off work? Id avoid it. Weekends? Forget it entirely.

The costco company chooses to push their political views over customer service. I was denied access to the store due to my open carry firearm, apparently this wouldnt have been an issue if I were a police officer which the door greeter felt qualified to ask me if I was. While there are no signs on the door to indicate lawful prohibition of firearms in the store I chose not to press the issue with the man selling stamps at the door and patiently waited outside for my wife and kid to finish shopping. Later tonight I got home I decided to call a costco manager to voice my concern and was given a very unprofessional hello? without a name ( the janitor could have answered the phone for all I know) blunt explanation and an attitude that clearly made me feel like I was bothering the guy at home on his day off. Every time I go in this place I find a new reason not to renew my membership and this time was the last, their political views do not trump my legal ability to carry a firearm and even if it did its fool hearted at best because it doesnt stop conceal carry and it sure wont stop a criminal from carrying. In the end I feel that I was completely discriminated against, embarrassed and made a fool out of by the costco staff and management while being told we simply do not value your business or your rights, they have no more right to turn me away as they do a person for their ethnicity, sexual preference, or religion.

Im sort of a Costco expert since since weve been customers in San Diego, Santa Cruz, San Juan Capistrano and now Tucson over the past 30 years. Costco vs. their competition is always 5 stars. Here Im rating this location vs. other Costcos weve traded. The store itself is great, large and well stocked, though unusually crowded, even for a Costco on a Saturday afternoon. What I found disappointing and a bit unnerving was the extreme congestion outside the store. Narrow parking aisles, too few and very small parking spaces (everybody drives a oversized vehicle to Costco!) and a parking lot traffic flow that to reminded me of Tijuana. The only thing that worked was the gas service. It was not congested at all though pavement was poorly stripped and better signage is needed. This is one of only 3 Costcos in the area and I believe relatively old. This one is west of Tucson and the others are east and central. We live north and Im hoping they build one up our way. Until that happens, we will be shopping elsewhere more.

The staff at the Northwest Tucson Costco are not nearly as helpful as, say, the one in Mesa. Costco is a great company; excellent prices, high quality, great return policy. Of course, most things are sold in large quantities which makes buying sometimes problematic. We have been members since they opened and are still fans of the company (probably more than 12 years, and we were longtime members of the Price Club store which preceded Costco). Biggest complaint is the way they often change the location of their products so we must hunt throughout the store for the items we usually buy - it does encourage us to buy impulsively when we see something new in our search, which increases their profits while increasing our frustration. Still, their prices and quality keep us coming back, although occasionally I tell the staff Ive had it with shopping at the store.

I have no idea why Costco continues to be so popular. For everything you want to do there, there is a line...and no place to sit while waiting as in the Optical dept. The Optical dept is the worst I have ever been in , (very little help and hurry up). You stand there and stand there after you have taken a number. I just returned the bad eye glasses they delivered and the eye exam was terrible. Photo dept is so-so after you argue with them and they point out to you the mistakes they make in printing are all your fault anyway. But they do correct it, kind-of. The dining area is not that clean and the tables always seem to have leftovers on them. There are other things about Costco I have had trouble with so I think Costco has gotten to be so big it has become the typical big lousy corporation attitude among the workers there. I am done with them.

I have been going to this COSTCO since I moved to Tucson back in the late 1990s. The stores personnel have always been and still are Outstanding. I have returned items because they were defective, because I purchased the wrong item and because an item was not one we needed. They have always accepted the returns without question or criticism. I have requested this store order items I found in the Newport News, VA store while I was visiting and which I liked but couldnt find in Tucson and the Management ordered those items on each of several occasions. The management and employees are the best, professional, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. My last visit was yesterday and I am returning today for a few items I didnt get yesterday. Outstanding. A Five Star operation.
