Let me tell you the first part of my daughters journey in finding her perfect wedding dress at Strut in Tempe, AZ.... Brooke was absolutely awesome and very caring and she seemed to know exactly what to pull out for my daughter to try on!! It was magical and I thought to myself what a wonderful experience this was!!! As a mom, you want nothing but the best for your baby!!! When my daughter had picked out the perfect dress, Brooke ordered the dress and we added the RUSH charge so my daughter could have her dress in January (for an April wedding). This way she would have plenty of time to get the lace sleeves made and any alterations that needed to be done before her wedding day. It would have been here in PLENTY of time!!!! My daughter wrote an awesome review for Strut (which by the way they do solicit good reviews by giving you a gift card) saying how great her experience was, etc. She gave them 5 stars!!! But thats where the awesomeness ended..... What?? Did they wait for the good review before they treat you like crap??? Guess what??? The dress didnt come in January, it didnt come in Feb....then March came and still nothing and when my daughter inquired numerous times she kept getting the run-around by Jewels (a manger). I will tell you that Jewels need some customer service training big time!!! No follow-up phone calls when she said she would call my daughter back she never did. But one thing she certainly was good at was providing "lip service" just to try to appease my daughter. This was supposed to be the BEST experience in my daughters life wearing the most perfect dress and they made her so upset that she didnt even care anymore. She just wanted to cancel the dress, cut her losses and go buy something off the rack somewhere because at that point it just didnt matter to her anymore. I tell ya, that made this momma pretty mad!!! How dare you make my daughter not even care anymore about THE most perfect dress for her most perfect day that she loved a couple of months ago!!!! I almost went down there myself at that point, but my daughter didnt want me to.....so I didnt. She said lets just wait, she had faith that they would make good on this terrible situation..... Yeah, that didnt happen!!! OK, so lets jump to the "when" she actually received her wedding dress..... it was 8 days before her wedding, 8 freaggin days!!!! And thats NOT the half of it!!! The dress showed up in the wrong size (and my daughter had actually lost some weight since the dress was ordered). Then they tried to talk her out of getting it let out, they said it was fine (even though she couldnt breathe or sit down in the dress). Luckily they had a seamstress on "stand-bye" to take care of the alterations. They said they would cover the alterations and refund the RUSH fee.....but nope, my daughter barely got a quarter of any of that paid for and then Jewels played dumb like she didnt even say any of it (even though my daughter has it in a text specifically from her). And when my daughter contacted the owner, she was ignored and we didnt get any response from her either... until the owner just responded to my daughters negative review on Google just recently (how many weeks after??) and replied to my daughters review saying that it was her fault that she didnt get the right size. Hey wait a minute, Brooke was the one who ordered it, not my daughter, I know because I was standing right there!!!!!! So, please, please, please be cautious when deciding if you really want to use this salon!!!! ....certainly left a bad taste in my mouth!!! If you are a mom of a soon-to-be bride, Im sure you dont want this to be your daughters experience.....

First of all, I am a plus size bride who dreads having to try on dresses. I hated the thought of wedding dress shopping and not fitting into most dresses at other bridal salons. Then, I stumbled upon STRUT while browsing online shortly after I got engaged. I was excited because they specialize in serving plus size brides. Well, finally this last Friday (March 27 2015) it was time for my bridal dress appointment. After we were done dress shopping and I found the dress I felt not only like family to STRUT, but I also felt GORGEOUS!!!!! Yes, I found my dress on my first appointment on the first day, but when you know, YOU KNOW! I did not want to take the dress off. I think I stayed in it for what seemed like hours, but I think it was only about a half hour. I LOVE my dress. I cannot boast enough about Stephanie at STRUT in the Phoenix location. She welcomed my 9 person entourage and myself with open arms and an eagerness and true passion to help me find the dress of my dreams and make sure I look beautiful on my wedding day. We got my dress ordered with extra material so that I can add sleeves to my dress. So, as of right now I am completely satisfied with STRUT and Stephanie. My dress is due in at the end of August. I am excited to see my dress again in person, and this time being able to take it home. I have no doubt that I will keep falling in love over and over again with my dress. In fact I almost wish my wedding wasnt 6 months away now!! haha A few things I did learn though from this trip that I would like to share with other brides as well as my fellow plus size brides; people told me that dress sizes run smaller than your regular size. Boy were they right!!! I ended buying a dress a few sizes bigger than what I normally where, but DO NOT let that discourage you though (Although, I did freak out for about 30sec) this is just how the designers make their dresses. So, no you did not magically gain 50lbs over night and go up 4 sizes. Instead measurements are taken so that the dress is made to your body. AMAZING, right?!?! I thought so. Also, it is oh so very true, if you do not like how a dress looks on the rack, TRY IT ANYHOW! I was not sold on my dress when Stephanie brought it in, but once I put it on, it completely transformed and I.FELL.IN.LOVE! So, do not be closed minded or dead set on a certain design of dress, have an open mind and try various styles and colors. I promise you wont regret it. In conclusion, STRUT bridal salon is amazing for any plus size bride. You are not judged because of your size, instead Stephanie, and I am sure the other women on the staff) will help you realize (if you didnt already) that you are beautiful and so are your curves. STRUT salon definitely makes any plus size bride not dread wedding dress shopping. Dresses actually fit so that you can get a visual on what youll like in the dress instead of pretending the dress fits and taking a chance on ordering a dress. Thank you Stephanie at the PHX location for ALL of your help and patience! You are amazing!!! xoxox

I purchased my wedding dress in August from Strut. I was told by the associate that my dress would come in January, which didnt leave us much time for alterations so I decided to order the dress two sizes smaller than my size at the time because I was losing weight. She took my measurements, we signed a contract for the size agreed on and paid for the dress. I was told it was possible my dress may come in early and that I would be contacted as soon as it did come in. In November I called to inquire the status of the dress. I left a msg and received a call back a few days later. I was told my dress had come in two weeks prior to my phone call. I was so excited I overlooked the fact that no one called to inform me of this. I scheduled a fitting for the following Saturday. I brought my mother with me to the fitting. As soon as I put the dress on I knew something was wrong, the dress was huge! The associate that assisted in the fitting was not the associate that originally sold me the dress. The hanger showed the dress that came in was 4 sizes larger than the size of the dress that we signed a contract for and ordered. The associate pulled my order and admitted they were at fault and ordered the wrong size. I asked her my options. Seeing as my wedding is in February I knew I had little options. She called the owner Ann and they offered to reimburse me $100 for alterations. I am no seamstress so I was not comfortable accepting this without getting a quote for alterations first. I ended up having to pay the balance to take the dress outside the shop to get a quote because they do not have an in house seamstress. I was quoted $650 for alterations!!! I ended up utilizing my connections and had my boss mom who owns an alterations shop take a look at the dress. She cut me a huge deal and achieved all the alterations for $350 which is still quite a bit more than the $100 Strut offered me for their mistake. I would not recommend Strut to anyone for anything, especially for something as precious and important as your wedding dress. They are incompetent and completely unapologetic for their mistake. I was involved in several calls back and forth with them regarding this and not once did the shop owner Ann reach out to call me or apologize or offer anything to resolve this huge error.
