Theres an entire room for adoptable cats that is separate from the retail portion of the store. I would recommend to the employees to leave the cats that are afraid of dogs in that room instead of displaying them in the adoption kennel in the retail area. I would especially recommend putting those types of cats in the top kennels if theyre going to be outside of the room. This is a chain that encourages you to bring your dog into the store, but I was mildly chastised for allowing my dog to approach the cat adoption kennel while the dog was on a training lead and was certainly not behaving aggressively, barking, etc. She was excited, but her behavior was very reasonable. Apparently the cat in the bottom kennel had a fear of dogs. This is a problem that could have been avoided with common sense. The other employees were helpful and nice, but the same person who directed me away from the cats then pointed out that the training lead on my dog was covering her left eye (she was pulling on the lead wanting to see the cats again). So not only was I passive aggressively chastised about the cat situation, I was also momentarily lectured on how to operate a training lead on a dog. I find it ironic that the person responsible for putting a cat that is fearful of dogs in the bottom kennel, inches away from every dog that passes by, was the same person who found it necessary to imply that I was ignorantly making my dog uncomfortable. They also wont match Amazon prices, but the Petco on Thomas Rd. in Scottsdale will. I wont be going back to this location, much less spending money there on overpriced...well...everything.

Went here for a training collar for one of our dogs. Had previously ordered one online from Ebay and decided to get a second one at Petco so that we would have it tonight. That did not go as planned since they wanted $30-$40 for the exact SAME collar that I had previously paid $10 free shipping for online. In fact everything in this store we are able to find somewhere cheaper except crickets. We even buy our food elsewhere and seriously save $$. We have been a customer at this store for years and usually only go here for crickets anyways. The Cat adoption company that works out of this store is good, we got a really nice cat there. Other than that I would stay away.

Professional groomers The groomers at this location are some of the most professional groomers Ive ever met. They will treat your pet like you treat your pets: family. They love them and they do a great job grooming as well. My service dog always looks and smells great when I pick her up. Ive been taking my service dog to this location for 3 years now and until they lose those girls that work in the grooming shop I will continue to take my dog there

Im not sure why the bad reviews below. Ive been going to this Petco since September and theyve always been very helpful. May be theyve change staff or management since these reviews, but Im extremely happy with their service. The staff is pretty knowledgeable and have always helped me find what Im looking for.

The staff at this location are helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Not a question goes unanswered, nor a moment passes in which I and my non human companions feel left out or neglected. This staff brings a genuine sense of family and belonging with them to the work environment. I wont shop anywhere else.

Just wanted to get my pups nails trimmed but Vetco lost my records and no one there was capable of doing anything about it. Pathetic system, spend the extra cash and get your pup taken care of by actual vets and not jokes who rent the dark corner of a failing store two days out of every week.

Cashier rolled her eyes at us, literally insulted my dog in front of me. Exclaimed "wow" when to woman in front of me chose not to make a donation. Not sure why the employees here hate their job/customers so much.

I prefer this Petco to the Petsmart across the street. Ive never had an employee treat me rudely, actually the employees have always been so kind. Love petcos reward points & prices are cheaper.

I DO NOT recommend this place. The groomer was not a good listener n ignored everything I said and butchered my Yorkies hair. Its obvious that the groomer was clueless on how to groom a Yorkie.

Great people easy walk through store. Sometimes hard to find an employee but they are around. Their vetco clinic they do is awesome for people who cant afford vaccines for their dogs.
