7/2816 The date today. 10/29/16 I take my Samsung Quad Core to be fixed as the "computer guy" on 24th st and Indian School rd in Phoenix AZ, (on the So. West in a small strip mall) screwed it up badly. Since I have to leave it for at least several days I have to purchase a new laptop to get me by.. I get this P.O.S dell that came with windows 10 installed. Only now after having this machine for only a very few short months it will NOT take the windows 10 upgrades. but thats more towards the end of the story... As Im looking around the store for a salesperson I notice some fellow more or less in my age group. Probably 20 years my junior but, hes old enough to where we should be able to communicate. I have discovered that younger tech people are too smart for me. When they speak I cant for the life of me decipher anything theyve said and GOOGLE has yet to come out with a translator option that goes from young hip and techy into old guy speak. So I beeline over to Dustin, "The Expert" As I explain my situation to Dustin, he shows all the proper concern and interest that old dudes expect when theyre sharing their tale of woe and misery. And since I am a complete novice when it comes to all things tech, I feel I can trust Dustin enough to buy this P.O.S. dell, even though Dustin is sporting tribal type tattoos that I dont understand.., "And it comes with windows 10 installed..!" said Dustin the expert. I tramp out of Best Buy happily with my new P.O.S. dell tucked away safely under my arm. I return in a short while to retrieve my newly fixed Samsung and all is right with the world. Until a couple months ago when the updates wont install on my P.O.S. dell that Dustin sold me. (even now there is a notice as I type, "Dell Update 1 update is ready to install" BUT it wont) So a few days ago I loose the chargers to both my laptops. Dang it. What to do? Go to Best Buy on Camelback naturally. And who do I see? Dustin, the expert, Naturally! Thinking that I was in luck I once again beeline over to Dustin. I explain the update issue and he says in his expertly fashion, my dell is only an entry level machine and is not designed for these latest blah blah blah. My mind kinda goes blank here as Dustin, the expert, slips into young hip edgy tech talk while his tribal tattoos dance rhythmically about to the boom shakalaka boom shakalaka drum beat cadence of his voice. "Look dude, it came with windows 10. I have put nothing, zip, nada, on this machine so one would think it would easily take the upgrade. Why on earth would you sell a machine that you knew would be obsolete in a few months"!? I wanted to say this but, no.. not to Dustin, the expert. I didnt dare. So he takes me over to the charger area shows me their "Universal" charger "Itll fit anythin... Its Universal" Nearly 50 bucks later I start to leave the store with my new "Its Universal" charger. Rather than slink slump shouldered directly home I go to the Customer Service Station to ask the exact date when I purchased my P.O.S. dell machine.. As I wait and wait and wait Dustins words sort of mesh in my mind. He actually implied that it was my mistake for purchasing such an inferior product. The CSR lady finally arrives. I ask her if she can pull up when I actually purchased my P.O.S. dell machine from them. "Whats your phone number? she asks. I notice the snack cracker crumbs brushed across her face as the smell of Cheese Whizz enters my nostrils. I give her my number. "Nothing here" she says. Has to be there, I say, hypnotized by the scent of Cheese Whizz and Snack Crackers whats the number? I give her the number. Whats your number again, (for the 3rd time) there it is.. 10, 29, 2015 I discover the "Its Universal" charger doesnt actually fit my P.O.S. The charger tip If I jimmy it around itll light up the icon but, not sure if its charging or not. And none of the tips even remotely come close to fitting my Samsung. Boom Shakalaka.

Terrible customer service. Very rude. Staples prices are much better for computers for basically no difference in computers. Staples had an HP with an AMD 630 quad-core processor for $559.99 with a HP 20" monitor included. The computer that we purchased at Best Buy was an HP AMD 635 quad-core processor for $599.99 and NO monitor. Everything else was the same. I asked for credit for just the 20" monitor that we had purchased which was less then the HP 20" and I was told NO because it is not the same model. That maybe true, but there is not that much difference between an AMD 630 and AMD 635 to justify the $200 difference in price. We also bought a 23" monitor just to find out that Dell had a 24" monitor on sale for $20 less than Best Buy. Dell also had a wireless keyboard/mouse on sale for $40 (normally $100). We bought a not so nice combo for $65 at Best Buy. Next time, we will be shopping else where because we overspend about $400 shopping at Best Buy. So we are still in the return period. Looks like we will be boxing up our purchase and taking it back. Also, we needed Windows 7 Professional. The computer had Windows 7 Home. The sales person told us that we needed the Upgrade which is $199.99, but he was WRONG. We only needed the Anytime which is $99.99. I am not in the business of selling computers, but fortunately, I knew the difference between the two or they would have got another $100 from me. JERK!!! You should know the products that you are selling.

I purchased a microsoft computer, switching from apple. I was told with the extended warrantee purchase would provide opportunity for help (concerned about being able to set up and learn not techy). After trying to set up my self, I decided to schedule with Geek Squad. Went to my appointment first thing am explained the situation and was immediately told I had 15 min and he basically wanted to set it up himself without showing me anything due to lack of time and next appointment. Several times this man told me how "busy" he was. Then he proceeded to tell me if I needed to learn about the computer I would have to pay $40.00 in store for an 1hr or $150.00 for in-home. This was not said to me during purchase. Why put on your generated confirmation e-mail: " Any questions you have for us, Any devices related to your question, the power cord(s) and cable(s) for your device (s) and best of all " WE LOOK FORWARD TO HELPING YOU GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR DEVICE". I guess thats if they are "not to busy. So I returned the whole $1400+ and he didnt care. Big Box business. What they should of cared about was that I was purchasing over 13,000.00 dollars of appliences for my new kitchen from Best Buy. Not any more! Treat your customers right and dont make an appointment then tell them you are too busy. Wont be shopping here at all. Went over to Staples made same purchase more than eager to help show me how to use device.
