My wife and I recently had the pleasure of purchasing a vehicle from Berge Mazda. We were referred to Berge from a friend who bought a vehicle from them a few months prior. From the beginning, the whole car buying process was so laid back with them. Taylor was our salesman. It seemed like he truly cared about which car we picked and made sure it was the right car for us. We didnt even start talking about numbers or a deal until he was sure that we were sure that this was the right vehicle for us. Once we started talking numbers the whole "Im going to talk to my manager routine was nonexistent". We met Brad (the sales manager) before we started the deal making process and he was involved in the negotiations through out the process. The "negotiating" only lasted for 15 minutes because of how straight forward they were with us. We wanted to test drive one other vehicle before going ahead with the deal. Taylor gave us the name of who to talk to at the other dealership even with the risk of losing the sale. We ended up not liking the other vehicle and returned to Berge to complete the sale. Upon agreeing to the deal, we had the pleasure of meeting Mark in financing. This process was made super easy as well. He went above and beyond to assure we got the best interest rate available to us. Usually this is not the case and once you agree to a deal, you are rushed into signing papers so they can complete the sale. This was not the case. All in all, Taylor, Mark and Brad were awesome and made this the best car buying experience we have ever had. We will definitely be back for our next vehicle purchase and will refer all of our friends in search of a new vehicle.

In the first two visits, they tried to sell us a Mazda6 but we did not reach a deal. Two days later, they called us said that the price was still negotiable and asked us to come back. We decided to go as the price was very close to our expectation and if it was negotiable, we would buy it. Then the nightmare began, we went there Saturday night and waited for half an hour and was told that they were busy so it would be better for us to come back the other morning. It was fine and we came back the next morning, they let us wait there for about 2 hours and then said they do not have the color we want as it was sold out, so we decided to change a color and we confirmed with him that the change of color wont change the price. But after another 20 minutes wait, they gave us a price even higher than the offer they made a few days ago, said that the previous price is decided by another manager and this manager cannot sell the car in that price. I asked him why not just tell us you cannot make it when we came in so that we do not need to wait for 2 hours for nothing. The sale person said he understood the situation but cannot change his managers mind. In all, we have been treated as a fool to come back for a even higher price. Be careful with this dealership if you only want to deal with honest people.

While the car buying experience was as expected its what came after that I have a problem with. I was turning/trading a VW Jetta I had leased to get a new Mazda 6. One of the contingencies on me buying the car was that I was going to be able to walk away Scott free of the VW Jetta. I was told with credits given I would walk away owing nothing. And thats after they inspected my Jetta and I pointed out any damages. Instead one month later I receive a bill from VW for over $3k. For damages and missed payments. I was deceived and lied to. I called and brought this issue to the attention of my sales representative who passed me along to the customer service manager. She told me she would do her best to figure something out and would get back to me in two days. A week later I called her back. She informed me I revived a $500 good will credit but so far nothing else. She would give me a call when she had everything figured out. I appreciate the buying experience but when incorrect information is given to the customer and then no one seems to have the answer to your questions its a bit irritating. I really want to like this place because they do have some great employees. But until this matter is resolved I can only give two stars.

I recently bought a car from Berge Mazda. I was given an interest rate and said the actual rate would probably be lower. I was called back a few days later and informed the rate was double what they told me. They did reduce the price of the car to keep my same payment but told me they had to add in a service plan so they could make money. I also had an agreement with them to hold a check for the down payment until I received money from an extended warranty plan that was cancelled from my trade in. Berge Mazda said the money I was going to receive for the cancellation was $2000. The money I actually received was $1500. So an extra $500 out of my pocket plus $500 more I had to put down. Then Mazda cashed the check prior to making sure I received the money like they said they would. I attempted to contact the general manager and received a return phone call by Kathy. For all of the trouble, I received a $20 gas card. My temporary plate expired on 05/05/2014 and after several phone calls, I was told the registration was just processed yesterday. I will never again purchase a car from any Berge dealership and I would not recommend any persons in the market for a new vehicle to do so either.
