I am in the military and I went here in uniform after work today to meet someone. While I was waiting for them to get off work and meet me, I got told by security to leave or they were going to call the cops. When I asked why, I got the response from the security guy, "Because I said so, and you look suspicious waiting in your car...and they have the right to tell anyone to leave." So needless to say my family and I will never be going back to purchase anything on The Summit property again. They have lost my business. Figured I would spread the word how I was treated by the employees that The Summit hires, just by setting there waiting on someone. Do with that what you will.

The Summit is always an enjoyable place to shop or just browse! We were there last on Black Friday and even though is was busy, it wasnt overly so. They had traffic police placed at the sidewalk road crossings, and they would stop traffic to let us cross. Along the sidewalks, Christmas music was playing over their "hidden" speakers, and combined with the smell of gourmet coffee and food coming from nearby Cheesecake Factory, it was sooo nice! Lots of great shopping at the usual stores you would expect, fused with many high end stores as well, and dont forget the restaurants... theres something for everyone. Great Place!

Very nice shopping center, bad parking layout. So they put in some very nice shops (and some youve just come to expect at any type of mall), but they designed the roads into and out of the mall like military choke points. This makes traffic go past most of the shops to get to any destination in the back or side (or even front if you are trying to get to Chuys or Flip for lunch). While that is normally just aggravating, it really SUCKS if you go around the holidays, since traffic will back up well before you even see you destination.

Its a little difficult to review a whole mall. If the store you are looking for is there, thats a plus, and there are lots of stores here. There are several restaurants- some good some so-so. The mall is near some of the best neighborhoods in Birmingham and reflects that with some higher class shops, but there are plenty of the average stores you see commonly. Be warned: the layout of the parking lot is confused and at busy periods it can be very difficult to get around.

A little pricey (understandably, as its by Vestavia), but a wide and excellent variety of stores and restaurants make this a great location for a day of shopping. This outdoor mall can be somewhat difficult to navigate due to bad traffic (especially near the 280 entrance), pedestrians, and slow traffic lights. If you dont want to deal with the roads here, be prepared to walk a fair distance-- The Summit is enormous.

One of my favorite places to shop, dine and see movies. Love the shopping and food. PF Changs is one of my favorite places. The theater is always clean and enjoyable. My grandson loves Johnny Rockets. I can always find what I am looking for at the Summit. The line is always long for the Cheesecake Factory, but worth it. Great parking, well lit and safe. Wonderful specialty shops as well.

I seriously dread trips to the Summit. The traffic getting in and out of the place is ridiculous. I save up reasons to go there so I dont have to go often. That said - the selection of stores and restaurants (the Apple Store, Trader Joes, Chuys, etc) is great and Im thankful we have it - I just wish there was a way to make it more accessible and less stress inducing.

Overly congested. No parking. Most shops are WAY overpriced. Great place for Hipsters and young adults to hang out. Very little locally crafted/manufactured merchandise. Most is made overseas, with a neat label applied and priced like it is high quality. There are some anker stores that are useful but you need to fight through traffic to get there.

The Birmingham Summit has so much to offer. I enjoyed going there to shop while I was waiting on my number to be called at the Apple Store! Everything there is extremely easy to get in and out quickly. They also have a great restaurant selection and the movie theater is right down the way! Will defiantly go back when I have the next opportunity!

We visited the summit after a graduation took place in the area. This place was packed, no where to park, cars just circled. We were told there was a 3 hour wait at a restaurant so we took our business elsewhere. This place was not well planned for a community the size of Birmingham.

Hard to find your way around. Poor markings. Congested areas where other drivers sent aggressive and rude. Large variety of businesses, some of the best dining in our area. On the casual side, the view from Chuys is amazing and worth the hassle of trying in and out of the summit.

Looks like Portland landed in Alabama. Ugg boots and yoga pants for days! Trader Joes is a welcome sight. Didnt go into a lot of stores, but they do have plenty of places to spend your money! Lots of upscale places you wont find anywhere between Birmingham and Tallahassee.

Awesome outdoor shopping mall that all started because of Saks fifth Avenue. Gets crowded during rush hour because people cut through from and to 280. Good array of selection. Go to their website to see all the restaurants and stores. Adding new stores all of the time.

The most popular shopping area in the Birmingham area. Easily accessible from I-459 and Highway 280. This is the only place in Birmingham where youll find a Saks, Trader Joes, Restoration Hardware, and an Apple store. There are many other fabulous stores here as well.

Shopping. Parking. Trader Joes. Chuys. (Bc Im from Austin.) Traffic. Basic people everywhere. Rude ones too, almost entitled but still Bama ya know? Friendly employees, nearly at all locations. Yay customer service. Your typical outdoor mall. Good job Summit.

The Summit has so much to offer shoppers. There are several great restaurants, salons, spas, a nail boutique and movie theater. Belk to Saks Fifth Avenue and everything in between - the Summit does not disappoint. It is also attractive and well designed.

Playing Pokemon Go at 1 am is not illegal in any way. Also security throwing themselves in front of my car isnt wise, nor will it stop me from driving around. Security here is fighting a lost cause won over by Ingress. Were not breaking any laws!

The Cheesecake Factory is off the hook!! We went on a Friday night and only had to wait about 10 min to be seated and the service, as always, was wonderful. The Summit also has a multitude of other stores to visit and is clean and well kept.

The Summit is filled with shops and restaurants that appeal to almost everyone. My only criticism is that it can be very hard to get too and is usually very crowded. If you go, try to go through Cahaba Heights to get there rather than 280.

I wish it were an enclosed mall. The way it is now, you have to slog through rain, heat, storms, etc to get to other stores, or waste energy by moving you car for every shop. I avoid going here unless I absolutely have no other choice.
