While visiting Seattle I purchased an "unusual" E-Bike from a small start-up operation. I took delivery via UPS and did the final assembly myself. All went well until I got to the front rack, which is more-or-less integral to the overall design. As it turned out, the rack had been welded incorrectly, but I assumed that I wasnt reading the directions correctly. Finally I gave up and hauled the bike, the rack to Eau Claire Bike & Sport. I wouldnt have blamed them if they told me that they dont work on such oddball bikes, but I encountered nothing like that. A day or two later it was ready. Turns out that a troublesome bracket was welded on in the reverse direction! They figured that out and removed the stray bracket so they could mount the rack properly, and then came up with an alternative mounting for the light. Good to go! All for a very reasonable charge. Fast forward to last week. I was casually riding said bike on a beautiful Saturday. Boom! My front wheel dropped into a barely noticeable pothole and before I could react I was cartwheeling into the pavement. The front wheel remained in the pothole. The rest of the 60# bike (including motor & battery) turned into a drop hammer that flipped over the front wheel, pivoted sideways & crashed down on my leg! I thought the bike was a goner. The bike is extra-complicated because its foldable as well as an e-bike. The crank arm was out of whack. The rear derailleur was only giving me half of the gears... So many things in probable need of replacement or major repair. I managed to ride home after straightening the handlebars to a manageable-if-skewed alignment. I briefly tended my injuries and recognized that I might not be able to walk in another hour once the full swelling of my leg kicked in. That and my brain was in some mix of mourning and shock. I decided that Id etter get the bike to EC Bike & Sport so they could assess damage and order parts (if need be) while I was on the mend... I picked up my bike today. Good to go! They managed to straighten the crank, restore the derailleur to aligned working order, replaced my brake pads with a tune-up (which Id requested) and got it ship-shape ! All for the cost of a tune-up and the replacement pads! I had been bracing myself for a major labor charge, replacement of the derailleur and crank, etc. Bottom line: EC Bike & Sport does excellent work, even on bikes you bought from someone/somewhere else. They go above & beyond expectations and are more than fair in the cost department. Okay, if I. Havent yet made myself clear... THEY DO IT RIGHT! AND FOR A GOOD PRICE!

Very misleading owner. I came in with a bicycle problem of the pedals skipping and was told that certain parts needed to be bent back properly. He said he has $100 part that does the bending. I can either buy a $100 tool to bend these parts myself or they can do it for a fee. However, from another bike shop, it turns out my chain was simply too long. I didnt need anything bent. The owner tries to trick customers into leaving their bicycles at the shop so the owner can profit from the service fee. He cant answer a bicycle question directly. And he seems pushy with time for helping you. If you go to him, you should do a little research on your own, or you could fall trap to his lies and cheating. Beware of the dishonest behavior here.

I bought my 11 year old son a Giant brand mountain bike there and spent a lot more on the bike than I was planning on!! We did shopped around and found that this local bike shop had what seamed to be Just as good quality if not better for less than some of the big bike shops!! The guys that showed us the bikes were very knowledgeable. About a month after having the bike we were out riding and my son complained about how hard it was to shift and I noticed the sprocket was bent so we took it back to them and with no hesitation they replaced it free of charge! Great sales service but amazing service after the sale!! They will always have my familys business!!

I wanna like this shop... I took my bike Im to get repaired and the mechanic was down-to-business and quoted me a very reasonable price, however when I came to pick up my bike at 7:30 on Thursday the shop was closed even though their hours are until 8pm on Thursdays. I am very confused. Also they dont have a voicemail set-up for their phone so I couldnt leave a message telling them I was here. Giving a two stars because not being open when your website and storefront say you should be is highly unprofessional!

I first met Terry in 2008 and have never gone to another bike or board shop since. He will give you 10-30 points off MSRP will order things when you need it, always has excellent service, and is willing to show new riders how to properly take care of their gear. He has been doing this for over 30 years and knows his stuff. Do yourself a favor and shop local, shop at Eau Claire Bike and Sport... Not a chain big box store.

I have purchased bikes and obtained service at ECB&S for over 20 years. The sales staff and bike mechanics, especially Terry, are excellent. They sell quality equipment at a reasonable price. Turnaround time for repair is lightning fast. Terry has generously donated equipment and repair service to Biking for Bread Larry for many years. I highly recommend this store.

This is the only bike shop worth going to. I have been going to this shop for years. The service is great, and the prices cant be beat. I have recommended numerous friends and family to this fine establishment. A friend recently drove over from Minneapolis to buy a bike here. I have a feeling that "eauclaire101" is confusing another shop with this one.

Absolutely Unreal. Dropped a bicycle wheel of to see if it could possibly be fixed as my Son had destroyed the rear bearings. I called them to see if it was ready and not to my surprise it was! It took like no time at all. I could not even believe the charge it was barely ten bucks. WOW! This Cowboy knows how to give good service!

My buying experience has always been great at ECBS. Different than the big sports stores they will set you up with the equipment that fits and works the way it should. They always have what we need and their service and knowledge is great. I highly recommend this store.

I`ve been going to this shop for about 18 years now and have recommended it to many other people. Every person I have sent there has been just as pleased with the products and service (escpecially the service) as I am every time I go.

Im thirty years in on this Friendly Local Bike Shop! They are unbeatable for new and used. The reason they are usually so busy is they are great at what they do! Check out the used bikes downstairs, too.
