I have been going to and supporting MCB since they opened. Good work done. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. MCB is the only bike shop for me because they are a true "local" bike shop and not a high end big box shop. They also are cheaper than any of the other shops, but do carry less stuff because they only carry what is needed. Turn over rate of work is far faster than any other shop Ive been too. Some people complain about the owner being a jerk, well to people who dont know any better the info he gives you about your bike or bike needs might come off as negative, but he is trying to inform you of the facts of biking and not pandering to your ego or bike choices. If you cant stand being corrected or told something is a bad idea, you will be offended and that is completely on you not him. They work on all kinds of bikes and some things that arent bikes. They sell good new and used bikes. The "high prices" not still lower than big shops and the quality is far greater than any walmart bike. Mid City Bikes is THE local bike shop. They will keep you riding or get you riding for the first time and work to make happy cyclist out of everyone they talk to because they are happy cyclist themselves. I have been a shopper and supporter since they opened and I will be till the last day their doors close!

Went in for the first time today. The owner was extremely helpful, down to earth and knowledgeable. He seemed to genuinely love what he does with a passion that isnt too often seen anymore in a business environment. Its not often I go somewhere to spend money on products or services and get bestowed upon such a plethra of knowledge. The prices are great and he is not at all pushy, it was more like I was hanging out and being educated than being put through the hard sale. After working to fix my blown tube situation and finding out that my tires/rims had issues that was causing the blowouts, he offered to call it even, if I couldnt afford the new parts that I was unaware I needed, because I had made a bad investment on a bike with issues. I bought the nessisary parts and he remedied my situation and now im back on the road cycling once again. Genuine stand up fellow that runs the place, I can not speak highly enough of the guy or his business.

I live in Mid City and really wanted to support them. First time, my work order was lost. When I called for a status of my bike, they had no clue and not at all apologetic about the inconvenience. After a year or so, gave them another chance. Spent about 45 minutes with Will who was vey professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. He helped select a few things to make my bike a little more comfortable and city friendly, since my biking needs have changed. They had the bike for 2 days and when I called to get an update on it, the owner Travis says "Yea, I just havent been able to bring myself to put this big seat on this carbon bike" in a very arrogant, condescending, Im smarter than you tone of voice. Deja Vu...he had the same attitude in my previous encounters with him, another reason I wasnt eager to go back. Bike business must be booming over there, if hes so eager to run customers off. Wont be back...ever.

I was out shopping for a bike, saw the store and stopped by. Unless you are a 20 or 30 something forget about this place. I stood there for a good 10 minutes hoping someone would help me to no avail. Apparently they thought I was somebodys Mother or something. When I finally got someone to help me they showed me the most expensive bikes and when I seemed undecided were very rude. I tried to get information and suggestions on which bike would be the best only to be told "they are all made in the same factory in Taiwan. What a complete bunch of bicycle snobs!! Ill take my business elsewhere thanks.

I liked this place--you can find used bikes here as well as new stuff. The dude working was REALLY laid back. I did look at their cheapest cruisers and they still seemed a little expensive. But its better than a Wal-mart POS any day. Anyway, theyre probably worth checking out.

Located next door to Baton Rouge Highschool and a local tattoo parlour, Mid City is a great resource for urban, touring, and outdoor cyclists. The prices are great and the service is friendly and prompt. Open Noon-6PM Mon-Sat

Decent prices, they give you the option of buying used and David was a cool guy to deal with. They didnt have anything in my current price range, but when I do decide to buy a good road bike, odds are Ill return here.

I was getting a problem with recurrent flats, so I went in for help. They found the problem quickly, explained to me how to check my tires, and suggested a better tire for the future. I will certainly be back!

Unsolicited was told he could put on 40 dollar rear rack for 20 bucks (thats 5 bucks a screw). I went elsewhere and found the same rear rack for 25 and had it installed for free.
