Jo-Ann Fabric at Silverdale, Washington is totally understaffed and has been for a long time. If there was any other semi-close store in which to purchase fabric, I would be there in a flash. The number system at the cutting counter is frustrating. Only two people were staffing the counter and the numbers, when I arrived, began at 12. By the time I walked from the front of the store to the number gadget, the lowest number was 36. 1 1/2 hour later my 3 yards of material were cut. However, the most frustrating situation occurred when the supposed number 35 showed up with a huge number of fabric rolls, spent time chatting up the sales clerk, left and then the real number 35 appeared. No one had checked the first womans number. Another poor situation is the checkout counters, difficult to maneuver carts with all the Christmas paper rolls obstructing the pathway. I will go to Quilted Strait or Pacific Fabric from now on.

Its been said for every positive review there will appear ten negative reviews. Thats not to say a resource is necessarily "bad," its just that people expect good service and generally dont take the time to write out a review. All that said, Ive been going to this Joann store for a couple years now, usually on a weekly basis. Ive never had a bad experience. The wait at the fabric cutting station may be long, but the staff has been helpful, inquisitive about what Im making next, and even at checkout the clerks will find additional coupons for me. If youve had a "normal" or "above and beyond" service maybe now is the time to let the store know.

This Jo-Ann Fabrics is kinda small and doesnt always have what you are looking for. As an example, I went there looking for cross stitch supplies. While they had all the DMC floss colors I needed, they only had 2 options available for 16 count Aida fabric, white and oatmeal. I was looking for antique white or another off white, which one would think would be a pretty standard crafting supply. I ended up going with the oatmeal, because I didnt want to drive to North Seattle or Lynnwood. Anyway I think it reasonably illustrates my point. Its good for when you need to grab something quick or basic.

Ive gone in several times and the people have always been helpful and nice to me. I remember in the past the associates being rude. There is one male working there and he always acts rushed and bothered by everyone. Some of the people there dont know the products. I asked for snap buttons and they said they didnt care such things then went in a few days later with a friend and found a whole section. Other than that just like every other ballard location rudishly nice. Lol.

Kashi was super helpful and really sweet. I expressed that I had to leave work early to get there and he told me to call ahead and he will stay and wait for me next time. I let him know that I was making a skirt for the first time in years and he helped me to pick out some great fabrics for beginner. He even showed me some fabrics that he had just gotten in today and quickly learned my style. Im going to tell all my friends and come back for all my fabrics.

I see a lot of reviews of bad service but I havent noticed it when I shop there. The service is average and I have no complaints. The only problem is that their parking lot is ALWAYS full and you have to pay to park on the street week days and Saturday before 6pm. ONLY go to this store on Sunday or after 6pm if you dont want to pay for parking.

Has essentially everything you could want from a crafts store, and the staff are very helpful when Ive asked for advice. They have some pretty good sales from time to time, but it can get busy quickly in the evenings before close or on weekends (I once had 14 people in line in front of me, with only one cashier available).

I paste a smile on my face and try to be EXTRA EXTRA NICE but all you get at the Jo-Ann in Ballard are frowning, robotic sales people who are crabby and rude. Managers, are you listening? Please do something about customer service and your employees interactions with customers. The company is losing a lot in sales.

Love Jo-Ann but this location is an embarrassment. Tiny, basically no parking, and an extremely limited selection. They might be the most convenient location if you live in Ballard or Fremont but make sure you call ahead to check if they have what you want. They dont have balsa wood sticks, for example.

The customer service here is terrible. The employees are slow and unfriendly, the store is understaffed, and they are extremely reluctant to assist in any way if they can avoid it. Selection of fabric and yarn is decent but I will find a local place and pay more rather than shop here ever again.

I have had enough of this store ... in fact, they have soured me on JoAnns for the most part (only go there for the commodity stuff now) if I want friendly helpful service, I go to the Quilting Loft ... awesome staff and willing to help with a smile, not a grunt.

I asked the woman at the fabric station where something was, and she abrasively told me to wait. Telling me where the item is would have taken you less time than being so rude to me. The women who work here are super unfriendly. Learn how retail works, ladies.

This place is empty most of the time I go here, in both item availability (restock your painting supplies sometime this month please!) and human life. Overall its another Joannes though. Convenient location, and there are always coupons.

Decent selection of creating supplies, but has the tiniest parking lot Ive ever seen. Street parking is available but not free; you can probably get away with parking in the QFC parking garage next door thats for "QFC customers only".

if you are lucky the queen will come out. It is worth the 15 minute wait I assure you. I think the culture of this corporation engenders a profit centric model which can be seen in the sullen of its weary employees.

Standard city fabric store. Small selection compared to the big suburban ones but it is a life saver when youre working on a project and need last-minute notions. Also incredible clean bathrooms

A smallish store with weird selection and odd location. So if you are in Ballard and need a very common craft supply, you might be ok here. Otherwise go to one of their full sized stores.

Love that there is a local Joanns! Staff have always been super nice and helpful. Its a smaller urban store, but who cares? I walk to it! I hope it can stay for a long time to come!

The service here is hit or miss and the parking lot is an insane design. But I usually find what Im looking for and a couple of the longstanding employees are top notch

Wow. Worst jo-ann Ive e ever been in! Dirty, in disarray, and salespeople with little to no knowledge on the very limited range of products carried at this location.

Im here every other week, the staff here is great, the store is always well stocked and organized and they handle huge lines at the cash wrap very effectively.
