Think of it more for what it is, a recycling center. Youve got one more chance to grab it before its recycled. If youre looking for fresh smells, organization, and an over all clean experience, thrifting (especially bin thrifting) might not be for you. I love this Goodwill! Its an excellent place to find treasures, especially if you have the time. For a recycling center its extremely clean and organized. For me, its always been an enjoyable experience (and I go more than I should!) The staff are so nice, smiley, friendly. Every now and then I run into the rude customer who throws things into my hunting spot because theyre oblivious (and dont care) about others shopping around them, but generally those around me help each other out. We keep an eye out for specific things the other is looking for and visa versa. Its also a great place to gather items for homeless shelters, jackets, gloves, tarps, etc. One thing to be aware of, youll never know when youll run into broken glass. The other day I found some in the clothing bin then witnessed two people, over the time I was there, cut themselves from different bins where you might not suspect glass. Its obviously in the glass bins but customers really toss things around and things get broken easily (especially with the Christmas ornaments around). Its best to bring thicker rubber glooves and always assume glass is near.

This is my favorite Goodwill bins! I have scored some awesome kids toys, fabrics, trophy parts, books & kitchen stuff here. I usually stop in if Im in the area. Its much cleaner and the staff is more polite in my experience than older, established bins located around Portland have been. Beware, sensitive retail shoppers - shopping here is not for "the distracted". Pay attention to whats going on... Large bins on wheels are moved out of and on to the sales floor all day long (in blocks of four, which you must wait until all four are in place before you may pick) - try not to get in their way, and keep control over your precious children. This is where pickers, artists, collectors, resellers (who support families with the money they make reselling) and folks who have very little money to spend do their shopping - many dont speak much English. There will be competition for new bins. People will not necessarily be "polite" by the gentrys expectations. Thats just the reality of shopping at a thrift outlet store. Bring gloves, cover your wounds, bring clean up supplies because some stuff is gonna really be dirty. Have fun! Dress funny! Sing out loud! Its the Goodwill bins - the ice hockey game of thrift store sports!

This is not at all like shopping a regular thrift store, but you will be rewarded if you put in some work. Dont try to shop your shopping list - its more like a treasure hunt. Everything is dumped in piles in the shallow bins, and its up to you to dig through it. Its *not* separated by size, nor by mens/womens. If youre looking for mens shirts you will dig past more dresses, blouses, kids clothes, bed sheets, underwear and socks. But after an hour, you will have your arms full of "keepers," and then youll pay by the pound. Most clothing items will end up being less than $1 each, except heavier things like jackets.

If outlet means that nobody will even bother to sort through donation and at least pull out damaged items, then, yeah, you are at the right place, though I would call it junk yard. Big plastic containers are just filled with mixed stuff and thats the only reason its sold by lbs, cause it was too much trouble to price every single item... every state I travel to, I always find a Goodwill there, since locals are donating, you will find different stream of clothing and accessories styles.... but this particular location was such a disappointment....

I love going to "the Greatwill". We call it that since it is more fun than the regular goodwill store. It is more of an experience than simply shopping. Its more like a treasure hunt but you never know what you will find. I have found Bluetooth headphones and tools and toys and clothes and games and so many resources for various projects. It always seems to have the things I need. There is a lot of junk in there but also a lot of wonderfulness. It is not for the faint of heart but the benefits and the fun is extraordinary

If you value your toes, feet, knees, and elbows STEER CLEAR!! The employees pushing around the carts wont stop for any reason, or announce their presence.. If you happen to be in the way, theyll plow right into you, or run over your toes! I even saw one employee side swipe a giant cart right down the side of a customers wheelchair! This place is dangerous- do not bring your children or yourself, unless your head is on a swivel!!!

It is a treasure hunt every time I go. Sometimes walk out with up to 50lbs of stuff. If over 20 lbs its a Dollar a pound which is great for clothing, toys, home decor, ext.. books run 1$ paperback, 2$ harback, 25cents for kids books. Glass runs 69cents a lbs so if need kitchen items good place to look some times whole sets even fine China. Some use gloves when going which may be suggested if going through clothing in particular.

I would give 5*. But since the Russians and Mexicans horde everything me just dump the bins into there carts to go through later you can never find anything good anymore. I have had a guy try to take things out of my hand and cart. If you like fighting over a few good things amongst trash from 12 to 18 Mexicans or Russians with 4 uhaul trucks out side then be my guest. I will not go back until they address this issue.

Wow! This place is crazy! Good luck finding what youre looking for here! Better that you will find things you had no idea you were looking for. I guess? They wont even let you plug anything into see if it works though. That really sucks! Especially if youre trying to buy something more expensive like a treadmill! What the heck? Like I want to buy a broken treadmill!

Its been a while since i been to goodwill, I went yesterday and they have security now, (what the hell its a thift store) for one he kept following me (probably because i am a person of color) i prefer not to come back it makes the whole experience uncomfortable and also pisses me off ,I am spending my money and they have to nerve to racial profile.

Wear rubber gloves and dust mask but omg I have found some of the nicest stuff here amongst crapola, intense smells and a possible diaper or two j/k - its one of my fave places to rummage for vintage fabric, jeans, beautiful stain free quilts you name it! - make sure to throw in something heavy to reach 25lbs for the .99 cent per pound deal!

This is my favorite Goodwill Bins in the Portland area. It is better lit and cleaner than the other locations. (Even the bathrooms are decent!) The clerks are always fast at checking you out and are friendly and accurate too. Good deals to be had, and not a bad shopping experience either.
