I live in one of the houses on 39th Ave South that are behind this market with my wife and four month old daughter and weve had to endure horrific smells 24x7 coming from their garbage ever since we moved in. Not to mention the bizarre number of flies and wasps in our back yard. In absolute frustration I finally decided to do some after hours investigation and discovered hordes of maggots erupting from dumpsters filled with rotting seafood. This may not affect you but you may want to consider how this is affecting not only ours and our neighbors lives, but the lives of the middle school students at Aki Kurose and the lives of the children that play at Brighton Field or the Cham Refugee Community. Island Pacific is NOT a good neighbor and I will be recruiting the entire neighborhood to continually file complaints with the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency. And this doesnt even address the story of how they nearly burned our house down two months ago by their employees smoking behind the market and flicking their butts into their pile of wooden pallets igniting a fire and causing their propane powered forklift to explode sending flames racing up the hill burning up our backyard. Thank you to the Seattle Fire Station 28 for arriving in time to save our house and our dog.

Island Pacific has the best Filipino take-out food that we know of in Seattle. For $35 we can get enough to cover lunches and dinners for the two of us for several work days of the week. Mungo, sinigang, caldereta, pork adobo, dinuguan, tinola -- almost as good as my wife cooks! We have done this several times in order to spare my wife the chore of cooking on the weekend for our work week. The food is great! When we had a party we bought a couple of platters of their barbecued skewers. These were gobbled up before anything else! I lessened by one star because when we went to the butcher department, we waited and waited for someone to come out and help us -- a worker walked by behind the counter and ignored us. To be fair, I must say that I spotted a bell as we were walking away and we had not rung the bell for service. Of course you can find the uniquely Filipino or Asian grocery foods such as plantains, purple yams, tuyo, the spicy sardines in oil, and the big tins of cookies for $6.00 -- perfect to take to the office to share. We live on north Queen Anne Hill and find that Island Pacific is worth the drive all the way down MLK Way South. Revision: when we ate the pompano in sinigang sauce it was so salty! -- too much patis!

Replaced the Viet Wah that closed down. So glad to have them in the neighborhood! The deli is pretty darn awesome--affordable and tasty. Plenty of seating as well, if you want to eat for here. They sell party trays too, if you need to cater an event. I used to have to drive all the way to Uwajimaya in the ID to get most of my Asian groceries, but not anymore! I have to say in terms of SE Asian fresh herbs, Island Pac has a better selection. Prices are comparable, if not slightly cheaper. The one thing preventing me from making this my go-to Asian market is that the products are definitely more focused on Filipino brands, and I havent been able to find some Chinese and Japanese staples here that are essential in my household. Otherwise, Island Pac is great!

I discovered the store existed very recently. I am Filipino and I was happy there was a larger supermarket nearer than Seafood City. However, I was very sad to discover that the "fresh" fish I bought was rancid by the time I got home. I live less than 10 minutes away and it is below freezing temps right now so it should not have spoiled on my way home. There is no way I am ever buying any fresh seafood/meat from there ever again (which is sad since I was hoping for a source for fried fish). I am giving it 2 stars just because I would still be able to buy the Filipino non-perishables there.

The restaurant side of the supermarket has a wide variety of affordable Filipino dishes and they are delicious. The grocery side is complete from rice to Asian condiments and snacks. The two star grade came from the two times I bought raw pork and chicken and they are spoiled. The produce section is looking better and I hope the same could happen to the meat department. This is really dangerous and could lead to health problems if not fixed. In the meantime, I do my grocery shopping at Seafood City, Southcenter Mall.

A nice clean and unique place. Has a food counter with seating. Grocery is leans more toward Filipino but general Asian items are prominent. The fish and meat counter has some incredibly low prices though the quality reflects the price at times. Grocery prices are comparable if not lower than other Asian stores. Friendly staff but sometimes the registers are slow. Great local place to show. Plenty of parking, except for the weekends when its packed.

I like the variety of products and the food at the canteen looks very yummy. They lose 1 star for not being as competitive in their pricing, fresh produce doesnt seem as fresh and there are a lot of flies and lastly make sure discounted prices are discounted at check out. I caught two of my items still at full price. Otherwise its a good new Filipino supermarket.

This place is fantastic and so cheap. Huge bag of brown rice for $5, 3 lbs of onion for $1...and I highly recommend calamansi juice if youve never tried. My boyfriend if Filipino, so I listen to his recommendations and have been trying everything. Also recommend PhilHouse located inside as a cafeteria- pork adobo and tocino are delish!

Clean store and really nice employees. The sale items are priced very well. Good variety of Asian items in the frozen section. IIve seen better produce variety in other Asian markets or fruit stands. Pinoy house food is delicious and great value for the amount of food you get. Really authentic filipino food just like moms.

I was there on the opening day and Ive going here regularly, they got their act together very quickly and theyve done so since. Produce staples are always available. Seafood section fresh add can be. Meat section always rotates very fast. Food Court is great, but thats a different review since its s different company. Yum.

Awesome Asian specialty store. Great prices on some hard to find items and they also have pretty good produce. If you cant find what your looking for the staff is generally pretty quick to help and find what you need.

Great Filipino (and other Islander) finds. I was born in Guam and other Asian markets tend not to have some of the items I crave. Esp. achiote for red rice, which Id been special ordering in the past

Decent Asian food selection, with a focus on Filipino imports. Produce only so-so, but great seafood and meat sections. The deli however attracts huge crowds, especially on weekends.
