I shopped at the Winco in Coeur d Alene, Idaho and loved it. This store is a huge let down, not because of the store itself, but because of the rude and inflexible employees. I just moved to Washington from Idaho, and still had a valid Idaho drivers license. They told me that I had to have a Washington drivers license for Identification to write a check even though we had checks from a local bank with our new address on it. I told them that my Idaho license was still valid and that should be good enough ID. They then took my drivers license, made a copy of it, and put some kind of notification on their computer system not to let me write another check unless I had a Washington Drivers license. This experience was annoying, embarrassing, and ridiculous. I had shopped in this store a number of times and written a check with no hassles until this experience yesterday. Since when are Winco employees working for the Washington State DMV? Every other shopper in the store speaks Spanish...are they checking their immigration status too? I complained to the main headquarters about this unfair treatment, and refuse to shop there again until I receive an apology. It was a very bad experience. I cannot understand how a person assumes guilt with no substantial reason. These two bonehead employees made me feel like some kind of criminal. They havent heard the last of me yet on this one.

I read the previous entries and they were helpful in me understanding the store before I went there. Thanks to all who posted before me No store is perfect, nor is there one store that has everything. Having said that, I was able to whittle down my bimonthly grocery shopping at a SUBSTANTIAL reduction over other stores. WinCo will definitely be my go to store from now on. The fruits, vegetables and meats were all in good shape as far as I can tell. What I bought, I was definitely happy with the quality. The eye of round steaks were very reasonably priced. Selection was quite good and the prices were very nice to see in this day and age. I wanted to give a special shout out for this store selling Emergency Water Packets and elements of MREs. As an emergency management professional, I am happy to see a store provide the opportunity for the average person to buy shelf stable items to put away for emergencies. While the prices are a bit higher than if one were to buy the items together in a packaged MRE, the additional cost is minimal compared to the value of helping people build their food storage bit by bit. I commend them for doing this and hope they continue. All in all, aside from the typical horrible kid story, this is more than worth the extra drive. I dont have any complaints.

Surprisingly huge produce selection with crazy low prices... the whole store is huge with crazy low pricing! Im buying kale at nearly $3 a bundle elsewhere and they have it for less than a buck! Fruits and veggies are like bulk so they arent as pristine looking, perhaps, as other places but you chop em and chew em anyway! The broccoli crowns were amazing!! The dairy section was huge! So much good stuff and so much cheaper than other grocery stores! The place was not surprisingly busy with lots of people shopping. They have checkers and checkout stations so I was out the door quickly and with no regrets!

WINCO!!! This is an AWESOME store! If you havent been, GO!!! You will not be disappointed! The food is great, the prices are even greater! My favorite thing is their bulk foods section. I make a bee-line for the bulk foods and I spend 30 minutes gathering the foods I use the most. The savings are incredible and they have lots of things you wouldnt think of like rice in 25lb bags and bulk dog bones -- things like that. Take your time and look in the corners and on the back walls. Youll find things you didnt know where there! I recommend WINCO to EVERYONE I know! It really is a great store!

Im always blown away on how big the place is after entering. Huge selection of canned and packaged goods. Some of the best produce Ive had comes from here. They have a wide variety of deli and meats, way more than you will find at Albertsons/Safeway. And they have a good selection of offal as well. I love the large long aisle of beverages! The prices are really great, and this Winco is pretty clean. Only reason for not 5 stars is they only take cash or debit cards, not credit cards at all.

Great prices on boxed canned and bull foods. Meat you buy here must be used right away as it doesnt last long. Look at produce carefully as it is often bruised or mistreated and not in the best shape. Staff is friendly and helpful. I love the calzones but sadly this store does not offer them as it does not have a Leonardo. Be aware you must bag your own groceries. Great deals on seasonal stuff too. Not a big bottled water selection. I go to Walmart for water.

Always have an easy time finding a parking spot. Although it seems more expensive then the comissary, its still 10x cheaper then other stores. I do wish they would accept a credit card, as our cards are only ran as credit and we can not do debit but aside from that, always great selection and the staff is generally nice.. One cashier did get pissy when she asked for my ID and I handed her a military id.. But that was 1 time, i havent seen her sense!

I like this place in the morning when no one is there and my child loves seeing the people working and putting things away, the down side of this is some of the isles are too busy to go down and get your items, but as I told you my child loves the workers, hes even put his toys away himself, the place has a friendly work environment and its like they work friendly hours also. They help when they can, but they can seem a little TOO busy at times.

I would have given 5 stars, till I lost something there. I dropped a $5 scratch ticket last week and came back minutes later. Turns out the cashier that rang me up saw it, picked it up and logged it into Lost & Found. 2 times now I have gotten the runaround when asking about it. "Oh its here, its in the book. We just dont know where it was put" Really!! You dont know where your own Lost & Found is?! No doubt an employee took it.

I love this WinCo! Super affordable and clean with nice staff. I can really get a weeks worth of quality groceries cheaply. On the other hand, dont expect a Whole Foods or Metropolitan Market here. They are a discount grocer and it shows; produce tends to be hit or miss, you have to do your own bagging, they dont take credit cards, and they dont carry some premium brands. Other then that, they are awesome. :-)

they keep their prices down by not taking credit cards(for which a store pays a fee for each time a card is run) or providing bagging clerks. The stores are clean, well stocked, and the staff that they do have are pleasant and competent. Even with the expense of the ferry from Whidbey Island and gas, I still save money on a monthly stock-up shopping trip!
