Buyer beware!!! I found a car I wanted at east lake auto brokers, I went and looked at it, I test drove it and I bought it. The saleswoman Gella (the shady wife of the owner) kept going on and on about how they only sell low mileage clean title vehicles and how they have a great standing with the BBB and their customers, I wish I read the reviews first. As I was waiting on getting an inspection for the car after I bought it, I drove more and more and noticed a bunch of things kind of iffy. After the inspection it got worse. The mechanic who went over the car said its was wrecked in the front and not repaired correctly at all (it was missing bolts, brackets and other pieces, had a bad alignment, plus the bumper was only held on by 4 screws), it was wrecked in the back and not repaired correctly at all (it had no bumper support, zero, nothing, not there, there was Bondo falling off inside the quarter panels causing them to rust out and the rear bumper was only held on by a few screws as well). The motor and tranny were worse. The motor was covered in yellow paint pen numbers, the transmission was covered in yellow paint pen numbers and so was the clutch. If you dont know what I mean by yellow paint pen numbers, that means the motor, tranny and clutch were all from a junk yard. The only not wrecked part of the car was the interior. The brakes were bad and tires were shot. I went as far to get a lawyer who has fought East lake auto brokers in court in the past and he told me I was screwed. The total cost to repair the vehicle and everything wrong with it was $8000. To get rid of the car I had to trade it in on a new car at a different dealer and carried over $9000 due to the trade in value. Word to the wise, dont buy from East lake auto brokers, but if you do, get an inspection on the vehicle first. East lake auto is full of xxxx and will lie through their teeth to get you to buy from them. In response to the reply from "the owner of east lake auto". No, Im not fake or a competitor, yes, my real name isnt John Smith, and yes, I bought a totaled vehicle with a junk yard motor, tranny and clutch from you guys that was advertised not as such. Why would I give my real name especially with how your dealership is known for going after and threatening unhappy past buyers? If youd like, I can post the multiple inspection reports and quotes I received from local auto shops describing how destroyed the vehicle I bought from you was. Maybe then that would put you in your place, maybe not. Your dealership is a hack and you dont deserve to sell cars.

BUYER BEWARE!! dishonest and deceiving. But, the sales staff promptly contacted me about the vehicle I showed interest in. The following day I took a 6.5hr bus ride and uber to reach the dealer. I was told the car was in excellent condition. At first glance it was. Supposed to be clean title no accidents; but the front and rear bumpers, fender and side mirror had been repainted, not a bad job except overspray all over. Then I noticed two bald tires, and noticed the spare tire and everything associated with it(jack, etc.) was missing. So they gave me 200$ off our previously negotiated price determined before I made the 300mile trip. But.. I still buy the car.. then the real fun started after I left the dealer. It had major transmission problems before I got home. Their last best offer to help me out was to co-comit fraud. They said they would sell me the aftermarket warranty at a discount(2,300$) after the problem occurred, but since paperwork will go with the previous days purchase I can claim it. I declined the unethical option and requested the owner call me which never happened. I called numerous times over the next several days and was told the owner would call back.. I was furious they were not willing to accept any responsibility for selling a defective vehicle. Since Im a mechanic I ended up only being out 650$ for the transmission parts and spent the whole first weekend I owned this 20k$ car working on it. All I asked them in the end was to pay for these parts and it never happened. They wouldnt return my calls. Heres where the deception Plays in: being a mechanic I dont get fooled to often by cars, but they must have a lot of practice. The problem only showed itself in a full lock turn(like you often make at a gas station to navigate the pump island) they had the car backed up and facing the street every time I left in this car from the dealer. They knew if I made an extremely sharp turn in their lot the transmission would act up. So of course I didnt catch the problem until I was half way home(300mi.) at 8pm stopping to get gas. If you search them youll find many fun stories. As an ongoing frustration I still do not have the correct paperwork to get registration and plates. They did not send the appropriate paperwork to Oregon Dmv. My 2nd trip permit is now expired. In Oregon your only allowed 2. So now what park my new vehicle until its sorted out. Since I got home with this car Ive easily made over 100 phone calls trying to get everything sorted out with this car. Save yourself headaches and buy elsewhere.

In general, just be cautious here. I thought this dealership would be different because they were family owned and it seemed like it would be a more personal relationship. They are no different than any other lot out there so be a smart consumer. Gella seemed genuinely nice. Her husband Dylan is sort of sketchy. The sister Shannon was the one I worked out the deal with via email. She was conveniently not there when I went to drive and buy the vehicle. The information she had provided to me by email regarding price and past service records turned out to be different than she stated. They claim to sell only quality dependable cars that they would be comfortable driving themselves. I beg to differ. After buying my vehicle I discovered the front and back brakes were completely non-existent (to the point rotors were overheating). They put new tires on the vehicle before I bought it so there is no way they didnt know about that. The panel behind the drivers seat is broken and keeps falling off so I will need to go to a wrecking yard and try to find a replacement panel. There is no way they could have even vacuumed the vehicle without discovering that little surprise. I didnt think to bring a CD with me when I test drove it. Guess what doesnt work? So all I have is a radio. There was also an issue with the steering wheel. Dylan told me that all of these kinds of vehicles make that noise and offered to have their shop "take a look at it" but when I asked what they would do if something was major wrong there wasnt an answer. I decided to just take a chance on that hoping it was just steering wheel fluid it needed. It was but there was another problem with the switch body which I will have to pay for. At the end of the day I understand I bought a used vehicle but please just know that these vehicles they are selling are not pre-inspected or anymore "quality" or "dependable" than the lot next door, they have no clue what issues the vehicles may or may not have. Its a crap shoot and they are not going to stand behind anything the minute you drive off the lot. If you find a car you like there, just pay for an independent inspection and save yourself the surprises that come up. Im already $1,800 in repairs into mine after the sale and I still need to replace the stereo, seat panel, and steering wheel switch body. I wont be back in the future.
