I bought a LG 8,000 BTU air conditioner on 8/2 at the home depot in Covington. and upon inspection when i get home the metal air vent was severely damaged, so of course before work the next day i exchanged for a new one and getting home noticed the same issue! perplexed by the situation i had no choice but to go to work and deal with it the next day. now caught up to this morning, i go into home depot and i am greeted by Christine Vaushn. also known as kris was also perplexed on the situation and offered again to exchange it and check the product before i leave. to both our disbelief we could not find one that was not damaged. Kris feeling the need to rectify the situation (since i have spend much time driving back and forth, hassle of not finding an undamaged product, etc.), says that she could get me a discount on one of the portable ones and put the money i spend on the broken one to the new one. I was speechless.... unbeknownst to her i had gotten this ac unit to cool my newly rescued dog (great Pyrenees) and others that were having heat stroke issues and the smaller one (ac unit) was only able to fit in a small room i had to keep them locked in. with the portable unit, i am able to keep my living room nice and cool for my pups and that i cannot thank Christine enough for. i did pay for the upgrade a bit, but again Christine explained the situation to the supervisors and they got me a more than fair discount on the product for my time and what i paid was well worth it. I know this is a long winded explanation, but i felt the needed to explain the whole situation. This employee not only went above and BEYOND for me, she was sincere and heart warming and more than glad to help someone in need. She made me feel taken care of and instantly i knew today that i made a new friend. i cant thank her enough for helping me. it truly means a lot to me that my dogs now have free range of the home, instead of being cooped but in a small room. I want everyone to know Christine at home depot in returns is truly the pinnacle of human kindness. Thank you Christine. :)

Never, never, pick up an order that you placed on line at the Covington store customer service desk. These dimwits dont bother to check if the item they are giving you is NOT a previous return. I trusted them to give me an unopened new item when I purchased it on line for pick up at this location and in so did not check up after them, which seems to be needed considering their inability discern new vs used. Xmas eve when wrapping presents, I noticed that the packaging had been re-taped. I opened the box and saw that the items which all were in individual plastic bags had been opened and lay spilled out in the box. It was obvious that this item had been previously purchased and returned as the tick marks where one would tear open the individual plastic bags had been ripped open. The canvas bag that came with the item was dirty and smudged. Wonderful! Great Xmas gift - a dirty used tool. Each time I deal with this store it is a nightmare. I have shopped other Home depot stores and none can match the incompetence that runs rampant at the Covington store. Floor staff that cant direct you to the proper location in the store, lumber personal that take forever to arrive to cut lumber for you, plumbing staff that cant answer the simplest question without acting as if they are being put out to mention, only a few things that await customers at this store. Oh, but then they have "dog carts" so I suppose that exonerates any of the staff from providing proper customer service. This is the epitome of a nightmare big box store. Save yourself some irritation and deal with Johnsons hardware in Maple Valley instead or go to HD in Kent. ANYWHERE BUT THE COVINGTON STORE!

I wish I could give zero stars. I have always been a die hard HD shopper. I took a chainsaw back that was not working correctly. it was past the 30day return for power tools. A manager turns to a coworker and says see its been like this the whole day. She then proceeds to explain there return policy. I told her I understood the return policy and this was a matter of customer service. I told her I felt as though this product they were selling was crap, and I think if they are going to sell it they should stand behind it. I was wanting to step up into a more expensive saw and only desired to have a store credit. she then proceeded to tell me she did not know why I could not understand policy. What she did not understand is that I used to work for HD and I know that they have a 100% customer satisfaction policy. We finally agreed that I would bring in the saw to their tech for repair and if he could not get it to work she would give me store credit. I did bring it in and got a call it was repaired. upon pickup I was notified I was being charge for the repair. I paid the bill and got it home to find it had not been fixed. I called the store to set up my return and they said I could not have a refund, and that they wanted to send it off. unfortunately I am now stuck with a saw that cannot cut more than 1/2" into a log without dying. I cannot believe I am saying this, but I have officially become a Lowes shopper.

It seems like every time I purchase a product through Home Depot theres a problem. I purchase hand tools and when I get home the tools have been used and shoved back into the box and put on the counter. I purchase an appliance and it takes 6 weeks for delivery and or their delivery drivers to replace an appliance that theyve scratch during installation. I purchase custom order blinds and the sales clerk tells me it will take two weeks, every time I call its a month to a month and a half late. This is an ongoing issue with Home Depot in Covington and Im starting to get extremely frustrated. Im in the store every week and spend quite a bit of money to upgrade my home and ensure my family is comfortable. However, the customer service and everything that goes into a retail establishment as such is horrible. At the end of the day, I blame customer service on leadership as the leaders are the ones who need to ensure their service representatives are trained properly and provide correct information to their customers. Im to the point of discontinuing utilizing their services and going to one of their competitors.

Placed an order online. Found out later each item will all be shipped UPS separately. Multiple deliveries requiring someone to be here to receive the order on different days. I had expected HD to deliver the order all at once in a single delivery from the store. Each item was shipped from each different vendor. HD is unable to modify or cancel the order. I called and tried to inform them that no one will be here to accept the order. It will either be left out on the road or returned. There are a couple of large heavy items that will make nice round trips back to the vendor. I wont be placing anymore online orders with HD.
