80% of the staff are helpful and willing to entertain my super creative ways of asking for things. ADD and OCD at their finest. My partner and I spent an average of 10 hours a month here for the first year in the area doing home improvement. Got some great tips and information from various employees. There are staff members who clearly dont like their job -- justified or not -- and, unfortunately, they have trouble masking their loathing of customers and/or having to put in more effort than they would like to. So, yeah, it is a mixed bag when it comes to who you will run into. I think that is a reflection on HDs HR department and hourly rates more than anything. I really feel for those who just need a job and dont actually like what they do. However, if you are there, why not make the most of it? Smile, engage with people, and do your best, as your job is basically stocking, cashiering, and customer service. I know I hated it from previous employment and did my best to actually enjoy it while I had bills to pay. The whole notion of "sweet is better than sour" applies here. Overall, I rarely engage with angry/unhappy staff and, if/when I do, I just work with them to lighten the mood. Id rather leave them happier than I found them. :) Besides general personality, the store usually has most of our home improvement needs for a 20 year old home. Ive never had them make a bad key -- have had over 30 copies made in the last year for various places, clients, friends, contractors. Just had them make me another set of 12 this evening. The Bellevue shop somehow misunderstood my order, so I came to Redmond for the fix and they were happy to help.

Terrible customer experience for installations!!!! I have been using home depot for quit some time and i almost did transactions worth of close to 5k$. I had a very bad experience recently in my recent project. We made up my mind to buy and install 11 internal doors from Home depot and we paid for measurement services. Home depot installation services took measurements on 03/6 and they told the measurements would be in by next day. Since 03/7 i called Home depot Door section many times and i also visited the HD 2 times but i only got a response from them on 03/16 saying the measurements were in. They promised to do this in 1 day but it took 11 days for the measurements to be in. I have a time constraint for my project and i lost 10 days. As i had a bad experience ( broken service promise ) , i decided to not to go ahead with them for installation and asked them to see they can make up my lost time by allowing me to order the doors with the measurements they have. They said they cannot do anything with the lost time!! Refunding the measurement service is not what i was looking for as money is not the replacement factor for everything!!!!!!

I went there to have my house key duplicated. Chose a distinct key so it will not blend into the other keys on my ring. Came home, the key does not work. Drive back there and told another staff the story, and he told me I should not have chosen that particular blank key (although that was one of the choices I was given) but instead he cut another key which is plain and simple. I told him that I needed a *different* type of key and he told me to buy a coloured rubber ring to put around it if I wanted a *different* key. I told him I would not buy any other product, and his response was "what do you want?" I went back home with the plain key, thinking I would be kicking myself if it failed to open the door. Of course it did not work well - needs jiggling and I refuse to have to use it on a daily basis. Needless to say that I was more than disappointed with the lack of willingness to help + skills to duplicate a simple house key !!!

They tried to tell me that a 25 % waste was "Normal". When I asked to have the estimator look at it again to see what we can do to get the waste down they said Quote It is what the estimator quoted and shes not willing to make any changes. The square yardage for the whole house was off as we have the original plans for the house. The pad was way to expensive, and the carpet removal was three times more than Lowes and Abbey Carpets. They charged us for a $12.00 upholstery workup..ah our house is on a slab and we dont have stairs. If there was something that required a upholstery workup for $12.00 either get rid of it or include it in the installation in the final quote. If they are promoting install for 136.00 why do they show a $950.00 charge then take it out? Then they asked if I wanted to share a credit card...My shopping is now limited to basic supplies from Home Depot. Abbey Carpets in Sammamish ROCKS

Because of corporate greed and the need to keep those at the top in plenty of fun money, Home Depot hires low paid, inexperienced, apathetic employees - if you can find one. Just ask any one of these high school dropouts, know nothing sales people or vacant clerks about their products and you will either get a "deer in the headlights" stare or a full line of BS. The few who did once work in construction are the ones who cant hold a job in the field (and that incompetence shows) and so must work at HD. If there are good reviews in this stack, they must have been written by HD managers trying to cover up their poor service and inadequate knowledge. You get what you pay for in employees Home Depot!

Been there many times, and am disappointed by the little help I got from their employees. I felt like I was bothering them by asking questions. There is someone occasionally helpful, but most others are just trying to get rid of you. I couldnt find half the things I was looking for in the store, and turns out some of them are available only online. Why they only carry microwave but not toaster ovens in the sore, is beyond me. Im giving the low rating of 1-star mostly because of their arrogant Service counter section who told me I am "stuck" with the Home Depot Gift Card. They dont take it online, and dont have what I am looking for in the store. For now, the gift card is a piece of garbage.

STAY AWAY I always went there to do my shopping and the staff are normally kind and helpful. But when it came to take a broken (and expensive) multi meter back, they refused to honor their own warranty and it took over an hour of pulling teeth with them to finally get them to do what they were supposed to do in the first place. I used to enjoy shopping there, but now I feel like they will leave me as a customer high and dry if there are any issues. They are all too glad to help you find what you need so you will spend money, but when it comes time for them to step up - they are as stingy as can be. I no longer shop there and would suggest others do the same.
