Less than a year ago I went to HD of Roanoke intending on buying a new bike. I was ignored when I entered the building and worse yet, stood by the sales offices for more than ten minutes. Not only did no one acknowledge me but 4 employees walked right past me without saying a word after making eye contact with me. Finally after being looked at for the third time a guy called out to me from behind his desk and identified himself as the sales manager and then asked if he could help. Told him I wanted to buy a new Heritage Softail. He said he currently had none and immediately tried to talk me into buying a Road king. After telling him for the second time I wanted a Heritage he grabbed and opened a book with options and paint. I was looking at the two tone paint options when the guy looked at me with doubting eyes and with a vocal tone to match said “the two tone will cost you more”! After trying to plant the Road king idea in my head one more time and my refusing he said he could call around to other dealerships and see what they had, possibly swap for something he had on the floor and get me the Heritage. He took my name and number and said that he or one of his sales people would contact me within 3 days. It came as no surprise that I was never contacted. These people are stuck up and once you can get acknowledgement from them quick to look down on you. Before walking out I should have showed that clown the wad of cash I had in my pocket. I’m sure he would have wet himself but here’s how this story ends. I drove 50 + miles to Lynchburg HD. Upon walking in I was greeted by a friendly smiling face. Offered and received a cup of coffee and ask how they may help me. They listened to what I wanted and let me set the course of action for everything. I handed them the wad of cash I had and left with the heritage Softail I wanted. Now they get all my business, from service to buying a shirt. It’s worth the miles driven and they call me by name every time I go there!

It has been quite a while since I have visited my local H-D dealership. So long, in fact, that I cannot remember the names of the associates who welcomed me and gave me assistance. I went into the showroom with the initial plan to simply window shop. I was greeted warmly and given space and time to peruse the entirety of the public accessible dealership. I ended up talking to a salesperson about financing a new motorcycle with a trade in. Although I decided against making a new motorcycle purchase, I did end up buying several items from the clothing and merchandise area. I was treated well and respectfully during the entirety of my visit. *Additional information added on 08/10/17: Sales representative Sk8 Mueller is always a pleasure to interact with. Mr. Mueller is a knowledgeable person with an inviting demeanor whos always willing to assist in any manner possible. Sk8 has given me help regarding potential purchases in areas including statistical data, intended usage, rider insight and consideration, and cost of ownership. Sk8 always gives the impression that, although he is a salesperson, his first priority is helping to assess and meet the needs of potential customers without making them feel pressured to make an immediate purchase. Whether you are considering your next motorcycle purchase or just "window shopping", visiting Roanoke Valley Harley-Davidson is always a pleasure.

Each to their own opinion so here goes mine. Simply said, they suck. Purchased two bikes there and both times had to argue tooth and nail for warranty work. The “master technicians” said I rode over something in the road. Yet I pointed out a new bike on show room floor with the exact same issue. Several years later, my next new bike, they put used parts on it. Let me leave with a stripped out heat shield clamp…that cost two dollars. Service knew it was stripped because the clamp excess was bent back over the bolt head. Have all the documented receipts and pictures to prove several dishonest acts. None of my three grand plus parts made it to the SWR sheet at the time of bike purchase…which means the added on parts were not under the two year warranty with the bike. Witnessed a battery pack impact wrench on the windshield screws…come on, really? Even wrote Harley a letter expressing all issues and concerns with zero response. Warranty is a myth and doesn’t exist. A Harley warranty is only as good as the dealership. If this was the last Harley dealership on planet Earth, I would buy a Gold Wing.

I was traveling on the Parkway and in making a tight turn, slid off the shoulder and hit the kickstand spring and stretched it. Rigged it to keep it up until I could get to the dealer. Went to service to buy a kick stand spring and the counter man (great guy) said he would help. I held the bike up while he replaced the spring. In and out in less than 15 minutes. I cant tell you how I appreciate this kind of service. Thanks for your help and service!

I apologize for not posting sooner. These guys are great. I was on vacation and on sunday nite my bike broke down. Monday morning I towed it to Roanoke Valley HD, got there around 1030am. They were down one person for vacation and had a full schedule. They said they would try to work it in, but no promises. At 7pm they called and the bike was ready to go. Picked it up tuesday morning and had some good rides. Thank you for your help!!!

“I was very pleased with the whole transaction. Jeff the sales associate kept in touch in tracking the bike so that I would know when it arrived. He contacted me on arrival and told me to come by after that Tuesday. I arrived on Saturday and owned the bike within about an hour. Everything went smooth with Jeff and Zac during the whole experience. I would like to thank the entire staff at Roanoke Harley Davidson for all the help.”

Got a flat rear tire on my way to the Bikefest. Got my bike towed to them. Since my inspection sticker expired at the end of the month, I told them to go ahead and do the inspection as well. After a three hour wait, my bill was $435 for a rear tire. Also, the guy said his inspection guy left and they couldnt do the inspection. What a way to take advantage of my situation. I have never paid that much for a tire on a motorcycle.

“I have purchased items in the clothing section as well as parts so I have dealt with folks from both areas. Of the several purchases made, it was always a good experience and the staff was helpful and fun as well. The parts guys were knowledgeable and got the parts I needed. The ladies in the clothing area were very helpful and provided honest opinions. I have had a great experience to date with RVHD.”

“Every vist i wait to see Travis not matter the wait time if there is one. Not to say that there is anything bad about the other sales representatives but Travis is beyond excellent. He not only makes the sale on his behalf but is also very informative and up sells me everytime and its a good thing on both parties. I always buy more than expected but its good for my motorcycle and my safety. ”
