Rod Brannon, the fellow giving this business one star and a torrid review may have an alternate agenda going. Perhaps most telling is his reference to Honda and a fellow named Jeff. Youll notice Rod Brannon gives few details about Jeff and the "Honda mechanic". Perhaps it was simply an oversight. Ron Schmidt is an honest and straightforward mechanic. He wont beat around the bush and he wont offer anything less that what is best for rider and machine. That is a rare quality in todays make a profit no matter what business mentality that is so prevalent today. The bottom line here is that you have to be the judge of what matters most to you. Mr. Brannon is entitled to his opinion, but as for me I will always seek Ron Schmidts advice and recommend his work to anyone. If you stop by and visit with the folks at Bavarian Motorcycle Workshop tell them a long time customer from El Paso, TX sent you. It might get you an extra cup of coffee and it will most certainly make for an excellent conversation. Ron has worked on more motorcycles, for more years, than I can count. He has a depth of experience that few can match and integrity that is unparalleled.

This Ronald Schmuck guy is the worst. I sent a bike up there for a clutch. Honda mechanic had told me the slipping couldnt be adjusted out. I got a call telling me the good news, I didnt need to replace the clutch. Are you sure? Yeah, the Honda mechanic was wrong, we are real professional BMW mechanics. We know best. We can can do a replacement of your discs though. I needed new bobbins was all. They can be swapped out twice, mine had been replaced only once. Foolishly I agreed. I can do brakes myself. I wanted wave rotors. According to Schmuck, the standards are best. That turns out to be a matter of opinion, and the customers opinion does not count. I got my bike back after a hefty bill for rotors not needed. Surprise, surprise the clutch was slipping on acceleration on an off ramp no less. I sent it in for a clutch, it still needed a clutch. Schmucks argument was it did not need a clutch while there. Keep your hand on your wallet, your back to the wall, if you really think you need to deal with this fool. This is the same guy who stole Jeffs business. Be careful.

Had an engine oil leak in my 2005 R1200GS, I looked the bike over thoroughly, replaced several seals and parts that I suspected may be the problem, finally came to the realization that it was beyond my scope and I was going to have to throw some money at it to get it fixed, probably a lot of money. On a friends suggestion I made an appointment with the Workshop, had a very pleasant experience with the staff, a few hours after dropping it off I was phoned that the bike was repaired and ready to be picked up. I was happy to hear that the repair was not costly, the engine clam-shell bolts just needed to be tightened, some are not easy to reach. Good repair, fair price, great treatment, I am very happy with this shop.

Thank you Ron for getting this traveler back on the road! I drove up from Texas headed for Flagstaff. My wife and I stayed at the Hyatt downtown. We were all geared up for a ride in town, and my97 BMW R1100RT immediately started running rough after startup. Fortunately, I was a mile away from Rons shop. I limped the bike to the shop after finding it on an internet search. I can tell Ron keeps a tight schedule and takes care of his regulars, but he rearranged his schedule, immediately diagnosed a faulty coil, and fixed my bike by noon. Very reasonably priced. I tried to get him to round up the bill, but he would not. Thank you Ron, Steve, and Thane!

Bavarian has earned a customer for life - Ron and his staff (I think its just the one other mechanic, Steve) are always friendly, helpful, and ready to share their passion for riding with whomever walks through their doors. They will source parts for no extra charge, they will help diagnose problems over the phone, and they will always be fair and accurate when it comes to repair costs, times, and quality. Ron is a certified master mechanic from BMW, and he will always give each bike and each customer the attention they deserve. I will gladly take my bike to be serviced at Bavarian with no hesitation.

Great knowledge and experience! My K75S had an electrical issue and wouldnt start, after much time invested trying to run down the problem I finally tossed in the towel and made an appointment with Bavarian Motorcycle Workshop. Ron diagnosed and repaired the electrical gremlin and did a valve check. Now, not many motorcycle mechanics are capable with electrics, so hats off to Ron and a big, "Thank you". Moreover the price was quite fair. If you own a BMW motorcycle and have routine maintenance needs or a serious problem go see Ron; youll be happy you did so.

These guys are awesome! I recently purchased a 1983 BMW r65 and its my first shot at an Airhead. I am unfamiliar with these bikes (though I am learning) and had a clutch cable that needed replacement. They worked me into their busy schedule and got me taken care of... Not to mention they were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and affordable. I will never take my BMW anywhere else for service now that I know of the exceptional job these guys will do! Thanks Bavarian Motorcycle Workshop!!!

I have been a customer for 4 and a half years, and they have worked on my R1150GS and F650. The level of follow up, service, competence and communication is unparalleled. They tell you whats wrong, and give alternatives in fixing it, they dont just switch out whole assemblies of parts like most shops do these days. They have my complete confidence and trust. There are not many shops like the Bavarian MW left these days.

Ive been taking my bikes to Ron, Jason and Jeff for several years now and I hope for many more. They provide excellent communication on what needs to be done, options when available and how much itll cost before doing the work. Theyre efficient, honest and a great group of guys who know what theyre doing. Were lucky to have their services available here in Salt Lake.

The guys at Bavarian really took care of me. They are extremely knowledgable, meticulous and thorough. I purchased a1977 R75 and it needed work, I was on a tight budget and was worried the work would cost a lot. I was pleasantly surprised when the work was well within my budget. I will definitely return to have my bike work done here and refer everyone I know here

Ron is an amazing guy! He has a very patient, calming demeanor, and doesnt pressure you into anything. I took my 2012 R1200GSA in for a brake fluid flush, and he had it done in an hour. He took the time to explain everything he did and answered all of the questions I had about the process. I would definitely recommend these guys for any bike you need taken care of!

Their knowledge and passion for BMW motorcycles, both riding them and fixing them is remarkable! You will get what you pay for and then some. Dont bother waisting your time with the dealer when you can have it done right the first time here. I will never go anywhere else. Thank you for taking such great care of me and my machines over the years.
