I have been discriminated a couple of times when I visit there, I love Wal-Mart but now I only go for specific things! just to share on experience of the many I was treated badly, So i go to Wal-Mart with a 300$ gift certificate I was so exited and happy feeling super rich! So as I get to the cashier I go pay with my gift certificate and the cashier asked for my ID I gave her my temporary drivers license since I had lost my other one, she said my document didnt look real I breath and said ok Ill pay with my credit card I guess she said you need an ID for that too I was super uncomfortable by that time and she could tell so she called her manager I was reliefed thinking that the manager would realize that it was silly to ask for an ID with gift card and to reject my document but no instead she made it worst by asking if she could see what was inside my purse, I said ofcourse. Anyways she looked inside and saw a water bottle my wallet, a couple of chocolate and cereal bar wrappers a banana, diapers and a half used wipe. Normal stuff for a mom but not to her she insisted she needed to see the receipt for my water bottle of course I didnt have it so she made me pay for it! At that moment I was so sad and about to cry and my kids were making some mess behind me! they are 2 and 3. I told her I had only credit card or gift card and my "fake ID" at that moment I was so stressed as the line grew behind me and everyone was staring so I offered to go get my passport in the car or a old drivers license and even asked them to please call the DMV so they could back up my story and let then know that my id was real! The manager looked angry at me and with a loud voice and said you are holding up the line and your kids are disturbing the peace and bothering her costumers so she told the cashier to accept my credit card only for the water and some snacks that I let my kids eat ( that I honestly didnt try to steal them just figured i would pay in the end) then she looked in my eyes and said we have you on camera this ID better be real! most embarrassing day of my life I was well dressed and absolutly dont look like a criminal! I have 2 amazing kids that were with me that were just tiered of having to be close to me in a line, She had no reason to treat m like that so the next day I stayed at the exit and I asked every American if they needed to show their ID and ofcourse all of them said No, I asked a couple of foreigner and yes their ID were asked for! I get that its a Wal-Mart policy and I really dont mind following rules but the rules should apply for everyone not just people that have a accent or speak another language!

The Fort Union store is usually stocked on items I need, when the Sandy Walmart always seems to run out. So I wind up coming in often for the basics. They just started this new thing where they got these yellow vested people hanging out by the door. One day, a while back, I was leaving the store with my usual items, and these yellow vested kids (2) jump out and asks me to let them see my receipt. But I couldnt help but notice that they let a number of other people out ahead of me and after me, not questioning a thing about them. So I went out to my car, fished out my phone, and called the store. The person I spoke with said that its rare that they should stop anyone, usually only when there are items unbagged in the cart. I had no unbagged items. She apologized for the situation, and said that it shouldnt happen again. I had been in many times since then. Today, I came to get the basics. And as I was checking out, I took notice of the vested woman hanging out by the door. She not once stopped a customer. And after I finished my ticket, I walk towards the door, and noticed her hiding behind a shelf. She immediately popped out and stopped me. She asked to see my receipt. I make no move at this point to get my receipt, and instead I asked her why she chose me out of the many people ahead of me or behind me. She explained that its just random, no reason in particular. I was like, are you kidding me? This doesnt seem random. She stood by that door waiting until I got close to her. It didnt seem random at all to me. I gave her the receipt, and she looked it over, all the while rambeling about how it was nessessary to do this. Like okay, whatever. A (mexican)woman who had overheard the exchange stopped me outside, she explaind that the same thing happened to her at a different store. And she knew exactly how I felt. Its like being profiled. She took one look at me, saw my dark complexion, and immediately thought she was going to get an award at the end of the month for catching a thief. She didnt look in my bags to make sure that the items were on the receipt, so I see no logic behind this ludicrous tactic, other then to alienate certain people and discourage them from returning to that store.

Facebook post on Walmart page. Today at Walmart in Utah on union park avenue, store number 2207, I ran in to buy a few things like thread, bobbins and fabric. My total came to about $15. As I was leaving the store I heard someone yell excuse me maam, come back here you have something in your purse I didnt think they were talking to me, so I kept waking. When I got to the door a man stepped in front of me and again told me I had something in my purse and to follow him to his office. I went to his office and he accused me of opening the box to a power bank, putting the power bank in my purse and stashing the box behind some fabric. I was totally confused, there were two angry men telling me that I had one chance to tell the truth or the police will arrest me after a while they pulled in a female employe into the room. I was terrified, I hadnt done anything wrong! I completely emptied my purse onto the floor, every single pocket was turned inside out. I then turned my purse completely upside down and shook it as hard as I could, multiple times. I am also wearing skin tight gym leggings and a tight T-shirt, so you would be able to see if I had it hidden somewhere in my clothes! The man was still very angry and demanded my drivers license, and when I gave it to him, he began entering my information into the computer, unnecessarily. I asked if I could see the footage of me supposedly stealing the item and he snapped that no, I couldnt. After proving to them that I did not have the item, the man said that he was going to be nice and let me leave, but if I ever came back out would be considered criminal trespassing after I shoved all of my belongings back into my purse, he followed me very closely until o got to the door, and I walked out. I didnt do anything wrong. I was falsely accused, I proved that I didnt steal anything, and I was humiliated in front of other customers as he shouted across the store that I had something in my purse. I am also not allowed back to the store? I didnt shop lift, and now Im being punished for proving my innocence. Boyyyy are yall in trouble now!
