Would I go back to get certified?... probably NOT. Bob who is the owner seems like he loves the sport. Cameron is a great guy and I applaud him for helping me get my certification fast and accommodating me through difficult time crunch. I dove at the Crater with Cameron and Bob. Cameron treated me well with respect and taught me some essential skills, and I have a better respect for the sport. Bob was very demeaning to other customers, and his customer service was poor at best. In my profession I work with the public on a daily basis. I treat everyone with respect and dignity. There were many kids (18 or younger) in my class, and I felt that Bob got his point through but it was in a way that made the kids feel uneasy and made them feel they were on edge about messing up, which I dont think learning should be coming from my high school teaching days. The class was very informative (taught by Cameron). I was very upset with Bob and how he talked down to all his customers, which is appalling that someone would pay to be taught and want to learn but get spoken to in that regard. I dont think Bob meant it but its his demeanor and the pampas attitude that makes me not want to go back. Cameron is a great teacher if you request him Im sure you will get a better experience. Go to another dive shop or request Cameron.

I had such a fun experience with the dive shop. First off you cant argue with the price! They provide all the equipment for you (for example not forcing you to buy a mask or fins like I have heard other dive shops making you do) but on the note they do let you test drive new equipment if you wish and buy it at a discounted price. I had Bob Stell and Cameron (cant recall his last name) for instructors. Both are very passionate about diving and very knowledgeable. Dont look to be coddled though, they expect a lot out of their students but I personally found that refreshing. That being said they are totally willing to make sure that everyone is learning and having a good time with one on one instruction and quick (often cheesy) jokes that made it a very fun atmosphere. If you are looking to get certified look to the Dive Shop!

I loved my dive certification course through The Dive Shop. The courses (taught by Mac, one of the owners) were great and they were very flexible with my schedule. When I had a conflict with their planned open water dive and had to get certified that month, they made accommodations to schedule another open water dive for me. The shop is small and definitely has the "mom and pop" feel, but I believe you get just as good of an experience as you would at dive shops twice the cost. Although they arent as kid-friendly as some may want, its understandable when they have to tailor the classes to adults as well and they are teaching something as serious as scuba diving. Loved my experience, would definitely recommend to others.

Hands down the best dive shop in Utah. Bob is the BEST! I started a group scuba class and panicked after our first day diving. Bob was willing to do whatever necessary to help me get certified. He was super patient and willing to accommodate my insanely busy schedule. He bent over backwards to make me feel at ease. If it werent for him, I would have quit after the first day. Cameron also worked with me to make sure I was fully prepared for my written test, and actually gained an understanding of the material. Everyone at the shop has amazing costumer service. Dont go anywhere else!

I certified in February so I could dive while on a cruise. Classes were fun and instruction was interesting and professional. The instructors were serious about making sure I learned everything I needed to know in order to be comfortable in the water. Diving in St Thomas and Grand Turk was amazing. I felt confident and did not run into any situations that made me uncomfortable. Friends, who lived too far from the Dive Shop certified at another place and both myself and my friends felt like I was better prepared and more knowledgeable.

Mac has brought new life to the shop and is a very gifted instructor! I took a scuba certification class in 2011 and another in 2017. Though both were wonderful experiences, I can see an enourmous difference in the way the shop operates. Also, after comparing the Dive Shops scuba trips to others nearby Ive realized they have the best value for the experience and more experience than most. Highly recommend everyone gives the dive shop a try!

If you can, ask for Mac (co-owner and instructor). He has 20+ years military diving experience but is incredibly friendly. He got all 4 of my loser friends certified despite never having touched scuba equipment before this. If I ever need more scuba stuff I will be going back here.

I live in Logan and I will make the drive and only work with the Dive Shop in Bountiful. I got certified here, my family got certified here, and we are all continuing to work with John and Bob. Simply the best.

Charged us more than advertised to rent gear. over 100$ just for 24 hours. very disappointing, will be renting from others for now on.
