Last year, my boyfriend and I visited this bookstore on the island. Today, we went again this year and had an experience that was just as wonderful. The store is so organized, with several chairs to sit down and read in (or just take a break). Its also dog friendly, so my fuzzy friend got to join us too. I always look forward to coming to SPI because I get to visit Paragraphs and get a good book to curl up with on the beach. And even when the island gets a little too busy, I can always come stop by and catch a breath here.

Our family of ten visited this excellent Independant book store for a couple of hours. The owners are knowledgeable and helpful to our group offering excellent suggestion on good reads based on ages an interests. We were especially pleased that our ten year old and most reluctant reader was interested in one of the suggestion and bought the book with her own money. We highly recommend this book store to bibliophiles to casual readers as they have a good selection and the store design is comfortable and inviting

I took a weekend vacation to SPI recently. I love to read and saw that Paragraphs was near the condo I stayed at. A friend and I stopped by and I fell in love! Friendly owners, cozy atmosphere, the smell of books both old and new! I wish I couldve stayed there and just read all afternoon. I regret not stopping by on my way out back to Austin. If youre in the area, stop by and give this small business some love. I cant wait to stop by again :)

A gem on South Padre Island. Paragraphs has a great selection of books including a vast section of non-fiction and Texas (especially on local writers). I particularly liked the handmade cards and the kids area. I was able to find some very unique books and a few memorable souvenirs.

A pearl hidden away from a vast ocean of electronic media. Mind you it is not a mega store with a google of books. What it lacks in quantity, it makes up in quality. The owner personally attend to us and suggested books that were readily available. Simply a wonderful place to shop.

One of my favorite bookstores in Texas. Choice, smart selection that balances critically lauded books with those of local interest, along with a small selection of used and Spanish language books. A store with character and great charm. Also: free (and good) coffee!

Very nice book store. Ive been coming to this book store more often since I first found out about it last year. This is the only book store closest to Brownsville. Plus if you come here, you have the added bonus of going to the beach!
