Father/Daughter Crook TAG Team! How they got such reviews is beyond me other then they & employees write their own. If you read carefully they do sound closely related by the same person(s). I sold gold to "Stone Oak Jewelers". Each time realized shortly later I had been ripped off for thousands. Second time giving benefit of doubt only to learn again cheated of thousands of dollars (total estimated 25-30K) Both truly portray an image of professional appearance, manner & high integrity. There store, impressive which weighs on your thinking further. There are a number of reasons to become aware of their practices. Second generation of top of the line devices/ tools to measure weight & quality of gold. One device supposedly offers an X-ray process to calculate quality & another is a water weigher. These units can be manipulated with the use of a computer to be adjusted in his favor & his bull explaining how it works will put your head in a spin trying to understand. All thats need is a simple electronic device/calculator to measure weight & ask what he will pay per gram or ounces (I paid $50 at Bed & Bath that was within a few grams of his weighing). He will then try to melt down your gold. Should you agree. Stay close to the employee melting fore hell have a number of chances to change whats been given to him including quality & pieces of worthless steal, etc.. Freshly melted gold will be soaked in a vat of acid to cool off melted gold & clean the blacken surface. Take warning that when practice is furthering he will try to distract you so that other changes can be made behind your back. After all is done hell then remeasure the weight & quality which hell explain that impurities in the gold from the heat lessen the weight, etc.. Take Warning. You will be rippedoff. He takes pride in what he does. Keep a close eye on your gold!!! Professional appearance, manner & store does not always add up to integrity. ps Dont let his daughter dazzle you with her eyes or mesmerize you with her smile. She works smoothly with the popster/ripoff!

Bottom line, if you are in the process of engagement ring shopping, you should not buy a ring until you visit Stone Oak Jewelers and talked with Dan. The customer service there is unparalleled. I started doing research online about places in San Antonio to find the best prices and quality. All the reviews for SOJs were spectacular so I walked in and looked at their selection. I knew exactly the style of ring my fiance wanted and didnt see it in any of the showcases. I showed Dan a picture of the style of ring she wanted. He recreated the ring from only the picture and a description in a 3d rendering machine he has that makes the ring out of a plastic-resin type material. Then Dan helped me pick out the best stone I could afford. I told him the cut and carat I wanted and he let me pick from many loose diamonds from the back. He instructed me on how to view the diamonds under a loop, and after narrowing down the diamonds I picked the One. It was around this time that the prototype of the ring came out of his rendering machine and although happy, I wasnt 100% happy; I felt bad, but I only plan on doing this once, so I wanted it to be perfect. I asked Dan if the ring could be modified . He made the modifications and recreated the mock-up ring again. It was then that I had to approve the new ring. I could see right away I was getting a premium one-of-a-kind engagement ring. The ring came back and it was better than I could have asked for, and under budget !

SUPER HONEST- I decided to sell some of my miscellaneous gold items that I had. I have never done this before and knew nothing or nobody to go to. I went to several reputable places that buy gold and you would not believe how I could have been ripped off by as much as 60% from several other places. I was quoted a price for my gold by Stone Oak and then I left to check other places. When I discovered that Stone Oak was not ripping me off, I returned within two hours and they not only honored the original quote, they gave me more for my gold because the price of gold had gone up in two hours. Its a long time since I have been able to do business with anyone so honest. I absolutely recommend Stone Oak to everyone. Dennis

As an update to my previous experience. let me say how impressed I am that Rafi really stands behind what he does, even when its for free. My only regret is that I wrote my previous negative review before actually contacting him first. He is so easy to talk to, and turned an emotional experience into a very pleasant one. Needless to say, he fixed my ring at no charge. I am now another happy Ichabods customer! I would give my second experience 4 stars, but have to leave one off considering the first one.

Thats too bad that some have had bad experiences here. The guys who run Stone Oak Jewelers are excellent and treated me great! They are very friendly and know their stuff. It took less than an hour to have my platinum engagement ring (which was my grandmothers....very important to me) re-sized and ready for pick up. Most places take days or weeks. The price was considerably lower than any local chain jeweler. I wont take my ring anywhere else!

Ken B. Monday Feb. 27th. On February 22nd I brought in an assorted amount of gold jewelry and was weighted @ 94.21 grams. I returned on the 23rd and confirmed that no items were removed, in fact an additional braclet and ring were added. After melting the items down, the weight was 65.56 grams how is is it plauseable that there was a loss of 28.65 grams. The BBB will be contacted.

Jill N. - Dan and his team at Stone Oak are outstanding.
I was blown away be Dans ability to treat his craftsmanship as an exact science. Not only did he recreate my original ring but he improved the original design beyond my hopes. His quote for recreation of my ring was a fraction of what other jewlers had quoted. I plan to go to Dan at Stone Oak Jewlery for life!

This store was Excellent just like the google reviews said it would be. We did finally select and purchase a beautiful diamond engagement ring with Dans help. Overall I found the store to be clean, well stocked and very helpful. We are a little on the "conservative" side, so to sell to us they had to really earn our business and were happy they did.

I took some old gold and silver jewelry pieces to their store. I was a little nervous, because I have never sold gold jewelry before, but it was pretty easy. It took about 15 minutes to test the jewelry and cut me a check. They are professional and knowledgeable...and I didnt feel judged for having to sell jewelry for some extra cash!
