The short version: Great sales staff willing to take care of whatever you need, including the mistakes of a barely serviceable service team, and dont use them for anything more complicated than routine maintenance. The long version: I own a 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan, and I slid it down a rainy road. It wasnt bad, but it was on the pipe side, so I took my estimate for the repairs to Mitchell Motorsports. Initially, I was told it would be a week for them to inspect the bike, because they were really busy. I get that, and I appreciated that they were up front about it. After their inspection (which took a week and a half - also due to weird circumstances), I was told that because the insurance would only pay for dent repair on the tank instead of a replacement, and because Mitchell doesnt do body work and the dent repair would seriously impact the service life of the tank, they wouldnt be doing the repair, although they would hold on to the bike and handle parts orders for whoever I found to do the repairs. After I looked around for a price to fully repair the tank (there was some previous damage to the opposite side), I decided to simply replace the tank and front fender and authorized the repair with the sales rep that I was speaking with. A week later, I received a phone call asking what they should be doing with the motorcycle. Because I used to work in a repair shop, I understand that sometimes miscommunications occur, and I shrugged that off as well. After all the parts were in, and after two missed delivery estimates, I called on a Friday and spoke with Matt, the sales manager. Matt let me know that because it was the start of the summer, and with all the riders getting their bikes serviced, it would probably be Saturday before they could finish tuning the power commander on the bike, which tells me that my motorcycle and the $6K of work I was paying for got moved to the back burner for some oil changes after being in the shop for nearly a month and a half. Obviously wasnt happy about that. Picked up my motorcycle that Saturday, and it sounded amazing, looked great, and I was so excited that I didnt do that detailed inspection I said to do above. When I started it that night, the front right signal wasnt lighting up, and the headlight needed adjustment, both of which were worked on, but both of which I understood were easy things to fix - I assumed the light was just loose in the socket from the extra vibrations from the pipes. That was incorrect. The old lens cover had been attached to the new signal bracket with glue because it was broken and the screw holding it on had no attachment point. In addition, there was NO bulb in the signal. I was furious, didnt touch the bike the rest of the weekend. I brought the bike back when they opened on Tuesday. Barry was as upset as I was about the light and offered to not only replace the lens and bulb, but also to repair the signal switch on the bike gratis. However, while he was looking at the signal, he noticed the crease dent in the front of the brand new fuel tank on the bike, and here is where I really get annoyed. You see, when that dent was discovered, Barry offered to help out with that as well. The suggested solution: put the old tank back on while they took the new tank to the body shop behind them to perform the exact same dent repair they told me would seriously impact the service life of my old tank. I got the signal fixed and declined the offer on the tank. __ EDIT: Originally, this was a 3-star review, but then that free repair on the turn signal failed two days later, and I had to replace the support bolt for the pipes because the nut wasnt put back on. Thanks again, Mitchell Motorsports.

This review is actually being written by Ellens husband Chris (not sure why she gets the credit, but it is her computer), and I just had to jump in with my two cents worth. I am a 63 year old man who has been riding more motorcycles than I have been able to keep track of since I was 14. As you might imagine, I have been involved in many maintenance and repair scenarios over the years, with all kinds of dealerships and repair shops, both large and small. I would have to say that well over 95% of these interactions have proven stressful at best, and downright ugly unpleasant at worst. Over the past half century, I have come to avoid them like The Plague. Though not at all mechanically inclined, I have been forced to learn to handle all but the most technical of repairs and maintenance issues myself, though I have never really relished the prospect of wrenching" on my bikes. My first couple of visits to Mitchell Motosports were exploratory, in search of essential products like chain lube, and brake pads. Ive been in and around enough of these shops to be able to get a feel for the culture of a place, and the people who staff it, in very short order. Each time I came away more impressed, and enough so that when I recently found myself in need of a front tire for my 05 Honda 919 (yes, old farts can be hooligans too), I decided to check out their service department. Now, I am able to order my rubber online and spoon it on myself, but when I found that I could get a Michelin Pilot Road 4 for $13 more than the lowest price I could find online, AND have it installed for less than I would pay myself to do it... well, it became a no-brainer. I am here to tell you, THESE GUYS ROCK! I was in and out in less than an hour, and couldnt have enjoyed myself more. Not what I was expecting, nor what I am accustomed to! To a man (and woman), they are professional... yet personable and engaging; knowledgeable without being condescending, concerned and conscientious in their regard for their customers and their safety, and above all, just a fun bunch to be around! It is such a relief to know that we have such a valuable resource in our area, and that I no longer have to travel upwards of a 100 miles in all directions in search of the next dreaded pit stop for my bike. I am not given to gushing about any business in a review, in fact this is a first for me. Know that I write this not so much for them, but for my own selfish reasons... heres hoping they are around for a long, long time!

A couple people there are extremely friendly and nice to talk to but service and business wise not even close to as pleasant. I have 3 friends including myself who bought bikes from here, from day one of it theyre pretty on top of trying to weasel as much money out of you and spend the least amount themselves. I do my own maintenance so luckily havent had to bring my bike there but 2 of my friends have and Ive helped them in the process, in the most simple words the service process there is a nightmare. Constantly being told "oh just a couple things we have to do should be good in an hour" then an hour later "oh were gonna try to have it done by the end of the day" then at close "we were so busy just didnt have time to get it all done" Ive had them practically scam me out of parts for my bike, had basic service take days, had them blame the customer for selling them a bike that breaks after 100 miles, waited around for 3 hours to end up being told it was ready 2 hours ago but they forgot about it. The only saving grace I had for this place is a couple people in the front were very nice to me despite my anger in situations. Also never call them because trying to talk to them on the phone is like impossible if you want it to take less than 30 minutes. Not a bad place to have a conversation with a couple nice people. Not a bad place to order a part or some chain lube but Id suggest somewhere else for beyond that.
