This review is for the pet hotel and the vet. Its reasonably priced and convenient. They offer playtime for an additional cost which we did. The reason for three stars is that my dog was bitten during her stay. In several places. The lady who called to tell me was nice and very assuring that she wasnt too stressed. The issue and reason for three stars is that she was able to be bitten in three separate places. (Leg and two on her behind) before it was noticed. Also the vet didnt actually call me they called my boyfriend and they were extremely rude to him. I also found it strange that they needed my permission to treat her for her wounds. Im assuming its a legal thing but I cannot imagine any pet owner denying their pet treatment. I may or may not take her back again. I know it wasnt their fault that another dog was aggressive but the way it was handled I feel could have been a little better. ****UPDATE 06/23/2014 I gave the Pet Hotel another chance, and we will not be using their service any longer. The staff is extremely pleasant and very professional, however their protocols arent quite up to par for leaving a member of my family there. This time I received a phone call that my dog was unable for group play because she charged a dog. Which I am okay with, I understand you want to keep all dogs safe (better safe than sorry). However, it seems quite suspect that the last time my dog was there after being bit several times, she was okay and very sweet during the remainder of her time there (and was just peachy in group play). I feel that it would be extremely beneficial for PetSmart to have cameras in any place that dogs come in contact with one another for review. For dog parents such as myself. I would love to know how my dog is acting. I would like to know what / or who handled my dog in such a way that she feared for her safety, or are they just being overly cautious (which is fine) but it just seems strange that the last visit was extremely traumatic and she handled it well but this time for no reason charged a dog. More information would be greatly appreciated.

Staff has always been very helpful for me, and for the most part Im pleased with the service, with great advice and help when I navigated various issues with my kittens. Truly the staff is the best part of Petsmart. However, I have consistently shown up to pick up Blue Wilderness kitten food, to find none in stock, or the 2 lb bag when I want the 5 lb bag. This isnt a problem with this one store, but Ive also had this happen at the Southlake store too. It would cost more for me to buy two 2lb bags for less food combined, than one 5 lb bag. I feel like this is an intentional inventory ploy from corporate to have me spend more money on the smaller bag, and therefore increase my trips to the store and the likelihood of me purchasing other items on those additional trips. Whether that extreme and pessimistic opinion is valid or not, it does not negate the inventory problem with at least this item. I was recently in the store where there were 3 other customers (2 cat owners, 1 a dog owner) who also could not find their food in stock. Yes, I know I can order online, but sometimes, especially with growing kittens going through growth spurts, they go through the food faster than anticipated and you need the food now. Also, Im annoyed that a cat scratcher I purchased there did not have a feather replacement attachment on sale there. Even when I went to whisker city, they sent me an attachment for the wrong item. If you sell the item, sell the replacement parts too, or dont bring it in at all. That is more a criticism on corporate than this individual store.

Ill look elsewhere for grooming. My dogs experience was ok. However, while checking in, which seemed to take a lifetime, another large dog became very stressed when being pulled into the back for grooming. The employee was looking to the other girls in the back saying the dog would not move forward, clearly asking for help. She did not seem to have experience with dogs. the other girls said and did nothing. The dog continued to pull and because she was large she actually pushed the door open, ran through the automatic doors, and into the busy parking lot with her owner having to chase her down. The girls inside made comments out of frustration about how this has happened several times lately. When the dog was finally safe inside again, she was still struggling and I suggested they try coaxing her in with treats and take it slowly. To which an employee replied that that would stress the dog more. Really?! Offering treats and slowly working the dog back would stress her more than literally dragging her through the door with a slip lead with her struggling and rolling over on her back out of fear, dropping the lead, letting her escape into traffic. Come on. They seemed like a group of very young girls with little to no dog experience. I watched my dog during the entire process to make sure nothing happened, and we will not return.

I will first say when I picked my dogs up they seemed happy, healthy and well cared for but the treatment I got with regard to them standing by what I was quoted for boarding was absolutely unacceptable!! I was told the rate would be $44/night for my first dog and 50% off that rate for the second dog if they shared a suite...nothing was said about a holiday surcharge when I made the reservation nor when I dropped my pets off...the website states $42/night...the website states $13 for an exit bath and I was charged $20.99 & $22.99 for my dogs baths...the representative at the Pet Motel basically called me a liar and told me their staff is all trained regarding the rates and no one would make a mistake...when I talked to the Mgr of the store on my way out she said it could very well have happened because sometimes the calls for reservations go to their 800#....no one at any time offered to do anything to make this right! $83/night to leave your pets in a kennel? I could have boarded them at a pet spa for less than that rate and had the bath included...feel like I was deceived & overcharged and have yet to find anyone at Petsmart who cares...make sure you have in writing what your fees will be before you walk out the door of this establishment...better yet try a doggie spa

Grooming Services: I called and scheduled an appointment for my two pups to recieve the bath services with the top dog halloween package upgrade. They said they would take a requests in services when we got there to drop them off.. I told them that would not work for me because I have someone dropping them off and picking them up, so I wanted to make sure thet got specifically what I wanted (the bath services with the halloween top dog upgrade). She said okay and that they would take care of my pups. . Well my pups just got home and I could immediately tell they were not provided the services I requested.. not even a cute little bandana.. I mean this wasnt rocket science, its not like I had super crazy request... after spending $100 I expect to get the services I specifically called ahead to arrange. I called to complain and they swear they brushed by pups teeth as the uprade dictates but I cant tell.. and Ive been getting my dogs groomed once every quarter for the past few years. I would never recommend this place to anyone I know, and if you are reading this then I strongly recommend you find somewhere else for grooming services.
