The customer service with My Urban Invites was out of this world until recently. This complaint is not with the product (it was absolutely beautiful and everyone that received an invite complimented on how beautiful they were), this complaint is directed towards their accountant or whoever deals with money. Over a year ago I paid off the invitations, in one lump sum. I paid It off with a check, as I was told that was perfectly acceptable and a lot of clients do so. Well, yesterday a call was received from My Urban Invites informing us that our check was never deposited. In complete shock, my daughter rummaged through her emails and found the invoice receipts that said PAID on them and called me frantic telling me to check my bank. Now, anyone who has paid for a wedding knows that money is going in and out and left and right on a daily basis so once the check was out of my hands and the invoice receipt was received it was out of sight and out of mind. My Urban Invites had over a month after the check was written to catch this “oops” before the invitations were picked up. I can understand the smaller check being an oversight but to not notice that a $1200+ check was not deposited is completely mind blowing. What is even more mind blowing is that it took over a YEAR to catch this mistake. This is an extremely bad business practice on their part. The phone calls were more of an FYI and non-apologetic. My daughter is one of the most understanding people I have ever known. She compassionate and supports small local businesses and picked every single vendor based on their personality and passion for their work – she didn’t care about the price. And to hear her so upset because of how she was spoken to is disheartening for me. She loved every step of working with My Urban Invites, and unfortunately, because of their lack of customer service a year after the fact she will never use them again. The principal of it all is nothing was offered for the inconvenience, the phone calls were more of an “FYI – I’m just letting you know before I deposit your money, I’m being courteous” as opposed to apologetic and embarrassed. Had they offered a discount or any sort of compensation for their mistake, it would have most likely been declined because mistakes DO happen, but it’s how the mistake is handled which makes ALL the difference. When asked how many people they have had to call, and we were told 8 as far as 3 years ago, needless to say we were in shock. I can’t imagine how the people from 3 years ago felt about having to pay for something they thought was already paid for. I honestly believe our checks were lost in a drawer somewhere, but that’s just me. None the less, if you want beautiful fairly expensive invitations go with My Urban Invites, just don’t pay with a check, and if you do pay with a check watch your account like a hawk, so you don’t have to deal with their stupidity 1-3 years later.

My wife and I contracted My Urban Invites to help develop our wedding save the dates, invitations, table numbers and seating chart. Ashley and her staff were a pleasure to work with and made such a nerve racking process smooth and easy. There was an abundance of of options to choose from, samples to look at and Ashley was able to have mock ups presented on the spot for us. Our invitations, along with everything else we ordered exceeded our expectations and the quality was of the highest standard. The timeline of delivery was also fast and the staff were readily available with any and every question we had. We loved the products and would recommend My Urban Invites to anyone planning an event.
