IW Marks was the first jewelry store I visited when I looked for engagement rings due to their well-known reputation. However, after dealing with their arrogant salespeople and ripoff pricing I will never recommend them to anyone I know. At IW Marks, I went in and told the salesperson I was interested in approximately a 1ct diamond, I color or better and SI2 or better. The salesperson showed little interest in me and coldly showed me a few diamonds. He then told me a 1ct at the low end of such specifications "runs for $20,000". He must have assumed that I was completely ignorant or had done little research, since $20k for an average 1ct is a complete ripoff. When I told him I was looking at a 5-7.5k budget, he quickly snapped the 1ct diamond back and rudely said "well this is WAY out of your price range!" while rolling his eyes. He then told me the "absolutely best deal" he could give me for $7,500 was a 3/4 ct diamond. This price quote is also very overpriced for an average diamond. I strongly recommend that you never give IW Marks your business. As in my case, they will clearly try to con people in their younger 20s. The salesman even had the gaul of trying to talk me into filing a credit application since I could "pay for everything later". I received many, many quotes that were far more competitive then anything they ever offered. Their salespeople were more arrogant than any car salesman Ive ever met too. Buyer beware!

Crooks! Crooks! Crooks! I would try to avoid this place like the plague, ESPECIALLY if you have a "trade-up"!! Yes, even if its from them AND you have the original receipt! My fiancé and I had gone in to look at rings and my mother had given us a wedding ring she had received from them, with the original receipt. We were able to find a diamond and setting that she loved and was well over double the $4,000 credit we were suppose to receive with the ring we have been given. Not knowing if we were going to buy anything or not the sales lady we dealt with was able to get us a deal that significantly lowered the price. Once the lower prices were given to me I still had to think it over, but my fiancé loved it so I finally said we would take the ring after all, at which point I mentioned the trade in. All hell broke loose after that moment. Our sales lady rudely stopped us and said that we could not possibly do a trade in since we hadnt mentioned it FIRST. The reason being that they would not have quoted us that low of a price had they known we had a trade in. Umm, isnt that the point of a TRADE-UP, that comes directly from YOU! We were rudely given the run around until they finally agreed to only honor $1,500 of the rings value according to them. We left and never looked back. They were apparently very angry with me for catching them in their scheme to screw all people over, previous client and future ones as well.

After 13 years of marriage, my wedding ring became too small (I wont say it was the other way around!). Since my ring has two layers of white-gold on bottom and yellow-gold on top, I was concerned resizing would be difficult if not impossible. I just let it sit in a drawer for the last year and finally decided I would get it repaired. I went to IW Marks on my lunch-break and was immediately greeted with a friendly worker behind the counter. I showed her my ring and at first, she was hesitant, but said she would still check with the jewelers. She measured the existing size of my ring and measured my ring-finger. Surprisingly, my finger grew (I mean my ring shrunk) 1 1/2 sizes. About 30 minutes later, even with such a large resize, the jewelers finished resizing my ring, and shined it up "like new." They even re-engraved the date and "I love you" back inside the ring without additional charge. Thank you IW Marks for making what I thought would be a painful experience into an exciting one! Im able to wear my ring again! The can-do attitude and excellent service you provided is most appreciated!

Went in looking to spend around 1K on a bracelet. They started off by showing me bracelets that ran 12K, but were 50% off, and "a real deal". 6K? Really? I used to be a Pawn Broker, and this place reminded me of a Pawn Shop, with the exception that the employees wore suits. I was disgusted with the staff. I went in with good intentions, and before I left I was shown the "cheaper, less expensive, more for your budget" (and I quote that), sterling silver with crystal in it. I ended up buying her a laptop, because the experience I received from there was simply awful. I will say sales staff were pleasant when I entered, pleasant when talking with me, and even more pleasant when they disappeared when I said Ill keep looking.

Went in looking for a replacement engagement ring. After spending 30 mins looking at what I didnt want the sales person actually listened and opened up the proper case. I picked out a setting, main diamond and companion diamonds. I knew what I wanted and had done my research. When the calculator came out and the buttons clicked I knew I was in for a show. The sales person went back and forth to the manager while I sat and the finally presented a price. When I said that was out of the range of similar rings at other locations the sales person came back with a price $2K less than the original offer. Sadly their price was still $3K more than any other "high end" store. Dont waste your time with the dog and pony show.

Unbelievable experience! Shopping for jewelry can be very stressful, but my experience here was comfortable and enjoyable to say the least. On my first visit, Brad Marks, made me feel like a long time trusted client. IW Marks Jewelers has been absolutely amazing in their customer service and attention. Honesty, value, and making the client a priority while providing a comfortable and friendly atmosphere are all hallmarks of this establishment. I couldnt be happier considering how far and out of the way they went to accommodate me and make my purchase an enjoyable and rewarding experience. Im looking forward to being a client for years to come!

I went in this place a while back shopping for an engagement ring. Luckily I had done my homework before going in there. I was looking to spend around 5k to 6k and I asked them to show me a few 1c stones. The guy brings out a stone and tells me he will sell it for 16k! I called him on it and he said he would talk to the boss. They both come over and tell me they can sell for 8k but no lower. So why did he feel the need to try to sell it for double that?! It may have been worth 8k, but at that point, I woudnt have given them 5 bucks for it. Bottom line is these guys will do their best to take advantage of you - buyer beware.

Im in the market for a Rolex and decided to give Marks a shot at my business. Pretentious "salespeople" who wont negotiate pricing, regardless of whether, or not, another dealer offers a better one...."Mr. Marks doesnt allow negotiating Rolex prices", according to the bozo I spoke with. I indicated that if thats the case, "Mr. Marks" should remove his head from his rear-end and negotiate prices rather than lose a sale... Deutsch and Deutsch were much more accommodating and willing to work with me.
