HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! I am a bridesmaid for a wedding and had to go this store because of the dress that was chosen for us. When I went in to be measured in August, I just had a baby (via emergency c-section) and it was the latest time I could go and order my dress. When I pulled up, there were no other customers there and the 2 girls at the front desk see me struggling to bring in my child (and his Cadillac of a stroller) and didnt even bother to open the door for me. Then she measured me and told me since I was in between sizes, I should order the biggest size I measured, which was a 24!! It had only been 6 weeks since I gave birth, so of course I was expecting to be bigger (normally, Im a 14-16), but NOT A 24! Then she told me it would be an additional cost for the big size and another additional cost for extra length (because Im a giant at 57). When I told her that I am losing weight and would probably go down in size by December, she told me "Well, what if youre working out and you break your leg or sprain your ankle, you wont be able to lose the weight and youll be stuck" . . . WHAT? I work in customer service and this was just INCREDIBLY STUPID of her to say to a customer, especially one who just had their 1st baby and is trying to stay calm. Needless to say, I drove home crying after that. Fast forward to November, and I go to pick up the dress, I ask to try it on there and they look at me like I asked for a free dress, then put me in a dressing room to hurry up and try it on. When I do, I can slip the entire thing over my head (something that I feared would happen) and when I tried to ask for assistance, no one wanted to help, and when they finally did all they wanted to do was charge me MORE to remove the fabric I told them would be an issue. All in all, if you can avoid purchasing ANYTHING BRIDAL here, please do! Their service sucks, their lack of seamstress knowledge is atrocious. I got married in 2010 and I went to many dress shops all over town to find my dress and my bridesmaids dresses. Let me assure you that you can find the same items at this store anywhere else in Houston for a way better price and experience. Stay far, far away from the buzz killing ladies of this place if at all possible.

After a less-than-satisfactory experience at a different bridal shop, I came to Houston Bridal Gallery and all of my wedding dress shopping concerns were lifted! Gaby was my consultant and she made me feel soooo comfortable and beautiful. She described each section of dresses and what style they usually catered to.... I was able to try on several dresses and ended up finding 4 dresses that I really loved for different reasons. The store was very cute, has a mirror in front of the window to be able to see your look in natural light, and was not overly busy. I left the store convinced that I would be back to buy my dress, but I wanted to think overnight, look at pics, and go to a few more places. After some good experiences and not-so-good experiences in Houston, I came back with a totally different idea of what I wanted in a dress and Gaby went back to square zero with no complaints and after about 5 dresses we found THE dress and I could not be happier! Several of the dresses I did have to squeeze into and Gaby did not make me feel horrible about that at all, even when one of the seams ripped or when my big butt was showing! She listened to what I wanted and made it work. She also helped make the entire experience fun and relaxed. She also helped me look at ideas for my veil and hair piece so that I knew exactly which type I would want. After reading the bad reviews that have been left, I cannot fathom that their service would vary THAT much. Complaints about appointment times... most bridal shops need appointments a week or two in advance and that should be expected, plus if they let everyone book appointments whenever they want it would mean an over-crowded shop and a not-so-nice experience for brides and bridesmaids. Complaints about rudeness.... I cant speak for the other consultants but definitely not Gaby. One recommendation I have is to go in and set expectations for how you wish to be treated, not that Gaby needed any guidance. Because of my first horrible experience at the other shop, I knew I didnt want to feel like that again so my MOH had got there early and told them exactly what I didnt like from the other experience.

**Not the easiest person to please and overall I had a great experience with Houston Bridal Gallery!** It’s OK to have high expectations, right? Their boutique is so cute, very cozy and quaint. I went to a ton of high-end bridal boutiques all over Houston and San Antonio and felt most comfortable here. (Truth be told, I actually tried on over 80 dresses between 6 different appointments…Crazy, I know. ) The girls at Houston Bridal Gallery didn’t pressure me or act too pretentious. I didn’t have a “budget,” I was just looking for the right dress. They’re very much “with it” with the styles and trends of brides today. When making appointments, they were very accommodating. Every bride needs to understand these places are busy and book up quickly. I was more than satisfied with my appointment times and dates. They ALWAYS call to confirm your appointment the day before which is a nice reminder. Alterations: I LOVED CiCi! That little seamstress is worth her weight in gold… My mother was a very very meticulous seamstress and the fact that CiCi’s work pleased my mother was very impressive. Because I grew up watching a woman who was very good at sewing and altering, I had pretty high expectations and was asking her to do A LOT of very tedious work. In the beginning I know she thought I was out of my mind because I ordered extra lace, changed the entire neckline (front and back), lowered the back, added tool around the bottom of the dress so it would lay better, and used extra lace to make me a false back that snapped on and off because I was getting married in a very strict catholic church. She did So much work to my dress to make it exactly how I wanted it. In the end she was so happy and proud of it.. She was so sweet! I got more compliments on my dress than you can imagine… annnd I continue to get them! It was absolutely perfect in every way. I found a gorgeous dress, it came in sooner than later, they did everything I asked, the girls were very sweet, even when I wasn’t..haha. Wedding stress, y’all! What more can you ask for.. :)

My sister (the bride) and I went to HBG for my maid of honor dress. We found one that we liked and I was measured and told that I needed to buy a size 22 dress because of my largest area (my hips) and that it was an extra charge to expedite the shipping since we needed it in 2 months (ridiculous). A dress that was priced at $180 ended up being $280 plus because of these fees. When I finally got my dress it looked so ugly. Definitely not worth almost $300. The dress fit like a BAG and was completely unwearable. I did not lose weight. Of course they wanted me to use their seamstress and assured me that it was completely "normal" for it to "look" that way. My mother in law ended up fixing my dress and it turns out that dress was not even seamed. She cut off so much fabric that the dress ended up a size 12 (my dress size). We paid just to have to work more ourselves. I am SURE that this is a scam that HBG does to make more money for themselves Besides this, their appointment process is ridiculous as they pretend to be busier than they really are. We were "fit in" to a "busy wedding season" weekday evening appointment for one dress, only to find that the boutique was empty, we were the only ones there. Do not go to Houston Bridal Gallery.
