Petlands "We Care" slogan is load of crap. Think twice, no think three times before you shell out hundreds or a couple thousand dollars for a pet at this place. I purchased two Yorkie puppies from Petland in 2010 and paid $3000. I thought I was buying quality pets but one of my Yorkies had a genetic disorder which ended up in multiple trips to the emergency hospital and cost me thousands more dollars just trying to keep her alive. She died a week before her 6th birthday. They say they purchase their animals from quality breeders. I ended up speaking with the lady who Petland acquired my pets from and she said she was getting out of the business and didnt sound like she had it all together upstairs. She also tried to tell me that my dog died from using the wrong type of collar, which wasnt even applicable since my dogs used harnesses the few times that I walked them and wasnt actually carrying them in my arms. Petland had me send them my purchase paperwork and asked me to send them all my medical records for my pet only to come back and tell me that I didnt purchase the "Pet for Life Guarantee". Excuse me???? Why would I shell out thousands of dollars for what I believe to be a quality pet and not expect it to live a long & healthy life. Why would they request I send them all types of medical receipts only to tell me, "Sorry, we cant do anything for you". What a bunch of sorry a$$ losers! Dont buy your pets from this place. Go to a breeder or adopt from a shelter or plan on spending money for their "Pet for Life" guarantee so that at least you have something to fall back on when your puppy mill puppy dies a premature death. Their so-called "service team" could care less.

My husband and I have been researching several different dog breeds for over the last two years; we have 2 cats and wanted to make sure they were "compatible." After learning that Weimerainers were a terrible fit, we narrowed down our top choices to a Golden Retriever and a Chocolate Lab. Scrolling through my Facebook newsfeed one afternoon, I saw some recent puppies that were looking for a new home at PetLand. I immediately called PetLand to find out if they still had the Golden and the Lab, they did, and I scheduled an appointment for my husband and I to go meet them. From the moment we walked in to PetLand we received exceptional customer service. The staff was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and you could tell they had a passion for working with families and puppies. We were taken into a puppy play area and were handed the most beautiful 10 week old male Golden pup that we had ever seen...he literally had us from "hello." We played with him for a while and my husband was insistent on seeing a girl Golden. We did, I didnt like her, neither did he, we got the boy back. We played and spent time bonding with the male puppy for over an hour. The staff was extremely patient with us as they knew we were about to make a HUGE decision. Not only did we purchase an amazing puppy, but we also purchased a Puppy Package that had everything necessary for us to start our journey as new puppy parents. We go to PetLand weekly, the staff knows our name (and our pups name of course), and they are still as welcoming and friendly as the first moment we stepped foot in to PetLand. Great experiences live there daily!

Went there a few weeks back. My wife and I looked around and watched other people were let to interact with the pets (dogs in particular). There I saw at that time a german shepherd behind the thick see-thru plastic (their cage) and stayed in front of it. I was making some gestures toward the german shepherd pup as if to play with it. Suddenly, one of the store staff approached me and rudely told me to stop annoying the dog. I said I wasnt annoying with it, I was playing with it. He just looked at me in a manner like as if he wanted to grab me and throw me out the store. But I didnt played by his game level. I stayed calmed and politely asked if I could "interact" with the german shepherd pup, Again, the staff was rude and asked, "are you buying it"? I said, not decided yet then he just turned his back on me and left. Wow, that is how friendly these people are. No respect at all, uneducated attitude! In a way, I was thankful because of that incident, I found out more about the store and where they get their pets to sell from. Puppy mills! I am never a supporter of those cruel places. It also shows on their staffs demeanor because its all related. Cruel source of the pets, crude and disrespectful attitude of the staff. Makes sense right? Oh another thing..their pet prices are ridiculously blasting thru the roof! More than a thousand bucks for a german shepherd? Nah... Id suggest to those looking for quality-bred K9s, look for the backyard-breeders around your area. There you can go and inspect the dogs yourselves. No harsh, hard-selling by rude store personnel. You decide on your own account.

I visited this location a couple weeks ago am a dog lover and we own a farm back home we were looking for a dog for my son and I and instead of being nice and let us interact with a puppy the said they couldnt bring him out I dont understand your looking to make money and place these pets in a good home let people interact with pets I saw this English bull dog drowning up and eating his own vomit and I didnt see any employee do anything I like how they dont like them out interacting but they do like them vomiting and getting sick instead of letting them out so they can adopt them and give them a better home than the home they have I saw a lot of people taking pictures of the pup when I asked to see him they told me they couldnt bring him out my husband and I were going to adopt him just because we saw him so sad and sick we have a vet in the family that takes care of are farm animals and am sure he would have been a great family member and he would have been in the best of hands with us than in petland my experience was awful

I used to work for petland about 6 years ago. I remember how I was taught to give customer service. We greeted the customers when they entered the door. We asked them if they needed help. And when someone asked if they could hold a puppy we didnt tell them that "we werent aloud to take anymore dogs out" I was taught that you gave the dogs homes, you werent a dog salesman. They got homes because people fell in love with them. After working for petland all of my pets are from there. I have a pekingese, a African grey, and a bare-eyed cockatoo. That little pekingese in the window today was what I was interested in. No Im not a "serious buyer" if I havent even seen the dog. I was very offended by her attitude to the situation. It was basically like she said "youre young and I bet you dont have any money". Ill still shop here but I think some serious retraining is inorder. With the 10ish employees that where there, not one of them said a word to me. I was not greeted asked if I needed help or asked to come back.
