Came here for a state inspection based on the reviews. Their service was prompt and I was done within 15 minutes. Not the best waiting area, but whatever. The reason Im leaving a one-star review is the fact that they broke my car key. The second I stepped out and pressed the unlock button on me key remote I knew something was wrong. Because metallic key leaf is jammed between the two plastic plates that form the housing to hold the electronics of the remote, if you were to jam the key hard, its easy to crack open the remote. And thats what seems to have happened. When I asked the owner about it, he got very defensive about it. He didnt even bother asking the mechanic first! He asked the mechanic "if hed dropped the key", to which he got a prompt "no". You cant break a key by dropping it. Not in this world. I can understand if the key broke as a matter of normal usage. And Id have expected him to just owe up to hit and help me fix it. But he didnt do any of that. Instead he blamed me for complaining about it - "When you have come for $18 state inspection, dont expect me to spend $200 to fix your key". Sorry, thats the last time youll see me.

1st I got an itemized receipt. Laugh all you want, but an itemized receipt is nice to have when you want to know what you are paying for. 2nd, Maan was very personable and took the time to answer all my questions. I didnt feel rushed and he seemed eager to ensure I knew the answers to my questions. 3rd, Maan was very honest with me. I had an issue with my brakes and he showed me the issue. He recommended, also, that I return to the place of the original work to ensure that I got my money out of their warranty. 4th, I was quite amazed that when corresponding via email that "Mona of Hi-Tech" was eager to help and responded quite quick. I can probably count on my hands the number of businesses that are quick to respond to email. Overall it was a very good experience and I would recommend them to anyone. I will be returning for other auto-work.

We were recommended to hi tech automotive in Austin so we took our car in for an estimate after an accident, we needed the hood, lights and grill fixed; the gentleman at the south location said 300 for each not plus labor. We thought it was high, turns out each only costs about 150. We gave the 290 location a try when two of our windows quit working, and Mann wanted to charge us 545$ for two regulators and labor. We left and looked up the window regulators for our car- 40$ each. He also fixed my girlfriends mothers car before these events, about 3 grand of work, and it immediately broke down again. I have had nothing but lies from the owners and staff on pricing and poorly done work that did not fix anything. I would not recommend anyone go to hi tech automotive unless they want to be ripped off.

It is hard to find a great mechanic shop you can trust, when you move into a new area, but Mon and Hi-Tech were recommended by a co-worker who had bought two cars from Mon for him and his family. We took our vehicle to Mon and couldnt be happier with the excellent service we received and Mons great personal skills. He really makes customers feel at ease by explaining the car issues and the options to fix the problem. I now have a shop that can do all my vehicle inspections, repairs, auto body, etc... a one stop shop. He also has great used cars for sale. I highly recommend Hi-Tech for all your car issues. Lastly, Mon always offers fresh coffee to his customers from the day prior (joke). Thanks Mon.

Honestly I feel a little bit taken advantage of, I got charged over 430 dollars for a new battery. Im not happy they said this was also with a discount. I personally believe that this is far too much. Honestly I shouldnt have paid for it but I would have had to spend more money having my car towed elsewhere. So at least I know no longer to go here.

Im not a "car guy". If my car makes a noise, I bring it straight to Hi-Tech. Maan and team are awesome. Honest, extremely reasonable pricing and ALWAYS takes care of his customers. Been going to Hi-Tech exclusively now for 2 years - my go-to auto place.
