I went in to get something printed. Two people were behind the counter, both of whom looked straight at me, but just turned back around and went on about working on whatever projects they were working on. Finally after 4-5 minutes (Im on my lunch break by the way, so I dont have much time), one finally asks if I need help, but with all the machines going on and as low as her voice was, I couldnt understand a word she said. She eventually made her way over to me (like she should have done in the FIRST PLACE), but not before stopping one more time to look at a computer or something else she was working on. They were not working fast paced like they REALLY had to get something done, she just leisurely walked on over and seemed totally put out that she had to assist me. I asked how much it would cost to have it printed, so she entered the information into the computer, tells me to send what I need to the email address on a business card she handed to me, and walks away. She never said bye, thank you, your order will be ready at such and such time, kiss my a** or anything. So I got done forwarding the email, looked up, and she was on the other side of the room again. I didnt yell, but had to speak loudly across the room so that she could hear me to find out if there was anything else I needed to do. I would assume (again, she was far away and it was kinda loud) that she said no, but I dont have a clue. It wouldve been nice to have a little more customer service, and a little more personality/friendliness. Ive worked in customer service for a LONG time, and Ill tell you (her) like I tell my own kids, if you dont like your job or working with the public and having to help people, go FIND ANOTHER JOB!!

Before I review this store location, I want to make it clear that Staples as a company goes beyond the common call of courtesy to please all of their customers. This location is no different, but the execution is off. From my experiences shopping in the store, the employees, from the cashiers to the managers, break their back to help out their customers(including myself) be it with finding an obscure item to assisting with computer problems. However, I start to feel uncomfortable when I begin to be preeched to about optional, expensive warranties that I have NO interest in. The executions of how each employee goes about selling the warranties are humorous. Many will present the warranty offers as a great deal and recommend it, and that it is compared to Circuit City and other competitor prices. However, the higher you go in the employee food chain, the more fake and unrealistic the warrantees seem to be. Not only that, theyre pushy. Instead of trying to convince the customer that theyre getting a great deal, all I get out of it is them trying to make profit. Not only that, employees seem to border on the edge of stressed to help the customer out. Upon asking an unnamed employee if they are payed by commission like other retail stores who have employees on the floor to sell warranties, my reply was a hesitant and somewhat surprised, "No." The problem lies within the management. Their number one priority is to help the customer, which I personally appreciate, but the environment is uncomfortable. I dont care about the profitability of the store or even the happiness of the employees. I just want to go in, get my things, and get out.

I went to Staples this past Sunday for some school supplies. No one else was in line. I had everything in a recycled bag. I emptied them out to put on the counter. The cashier then asked if that was my bag (it clearly had another companys logo on it. She then of course proceeded to put everything in plastic bags. I reminded her that she has my bag to use. She said they wont all fit in the ball. I explained to her that they would (again, I had everything in the bag when I approached the counter). Nothing was put into my bag and after I signed for my purchase, she asked if I wanted to put everything in my bag myself!!! I could not believe it. I said, well I guess I have to. As I left, I turned around (again no one else was within earshot) and told her the next time a customer checks out with her, she should put their items in the bag for them. Im all for helping out if there are a lot of things but I bought two boxes of pens, pencils, 5 little packs of loose leaf paper and a ream of copy paper. I will not have her wait on me again.

Went in to get a name tag made for my new job (my employer sent me there and said all of the info for what I needed was already in the system). Walked up to the printing counter and made eye contact and smiled at the employee working and she looked at me and then looked down and kept doing what she was doing. After standing there for another minute, she looked up and in the quietest voice she possibly could make, said what I think was "how can I help you?" I couldnt hear a word she said, so turned my ear towards here and made a face like I didnt understand, she again, in the same voice, asked how she could help me. I explained what I needed. She looked up the information and then told me I would need to order it online and acted as if I were ignorant for not already knowing this information. She was very rude and acted like I was such an inconveince. The store was also very dirty with trash all over the floor.

Back to school time...needed one somewhat expensive and important item that they showed they had online. I drove from another town and walked up very close to closing and they have an employee guarding the door to keep customers from coming in. I asked him about the item and his manager turned me away when they still had customers inside checking out and shopping. Thats just bad business and customer service at a store this size. With me having four children thats just one step closer to me (and Im sure others like me) having to plan to purchase things that only staples offers in store, online instead.

Was working out of town when my laptop crashed. Had to have another. I found exactly what I needed at Staples and because of store policy they could not sell it to me!! They could not sell the display model even though they were out in the store, out online and out at every store from Smyrna to Atlanta!! I would have given them one star but the Assistant manager called every where trying to find one ... staples store policy will keep me from ever going back there.

The reviews were so bad for this location I had to see it for myself. As others have said in their reviews, the store is quite disheveled and the floors in need of more than just a good vacuuming. The staff, while not enthusiastic, were at least able to give me the assistance I needed. I took off an extra star because an associate, Genay, kept talking to and distracting my cashier, Lexie (who was very polite) during checkout.
