This is a mixed review....the atmosphere is killer. Anytime a fellow coffee shop dweller is in town visiting me, this is hands down the place to take them. The decor is perfectly executed..... However, from a local, repeat customer aspect...I really dont have the patience to regularly get coffee here. Should ordering a plan ol coffee take 20 to 30 minutes to prepare? Its pour over, its somewhat of an art...I get all of that. But Im really just wanting a good cup of coffee. I dont care how you make it. I want it fast, and I want it good. Both can be achieved. The baristas have a tendency to make you feel like they are doing you a favor by serving you, even though you are the one paying for the $7 beverage that youve waited 35 minutes for. As a local, its almost comedic how long it takes to get coffee here. And it oddly kinds of adds to the draw of the place when I have those out of town visitors. It helps at to the story.

Good stuff, in my opinion. I stopped into Barista Parlor on my first, virgin day in the city, on a business trip, and it turned out to be a fine introduction to East Nashville. Right off the bat, I loved the decoration, especially the herd of classic motorcycles positioned about the place, which kept me company while in line. Then, after getting my cold-brew coffee, I was impressed all over again, finding it to be exceptional (worthy of the above-average price, as it were). Plus, the folks there were friendly and chill (even when informing me that outside food wasnt allowed, and accepting my plea of first-timer ignorance). Likewise, the place was nice and clean (restroom included), and I left feeling rather satisfied with the experience. Much thanks, to everyone at Barista Parlor, for providing me a warm welcome to Nashville. Keep up the good work :D

Great place that youll drive right by if you dont pay attention. The decor is wonderful. Wooden tables and stools, Edison style bulbs, unfinished interior ceiling, and some tasteful art work on the walls. Extremely clean establishment. The stainless steel on the central counter gleams. Oh, but you want to hear about the food and drink, right? Its quite good. The Moto biscuit is delightful and is big enough that youll need a fork and knife. The coffee is very good as well. While Barista Parlor is perhaps a touch overpriced, it is a very good experience that you should treat yourself to on occasion. After you finish with your breakfast/ what have you they have a few odds and ends that you can peruse. Branded coffee cups, Chemex, and chocolates. Again, definitely worth having breakfast on occasion. Love riding my motorcycle here on some mornings.

Its definitely a cool little shop with what I would guess is an outdoor stage for music and events. Not a ton of outlets if you want to work and the coffee/food is way overpriced. I get the whole trendy, fancy coffee vibe and this is a great place to bring an out of towner for one cup of coffee (because thats all youll afford), but ya gotta offer a little more when there are so many other good coffee shops around. I bought the biscuits and gravy and although they were delicious, it was only two small biscuits with barely any gravy. They offer no refills on okay coffee. I ended up spending $20 for a few hours of work. Bummer. Looks cool but will only visit once. I do not recommend this place to work on anything longer than your battery life (which is probably enough time to drink one cup and go somewhere cheaper).

Ill start with this. If you are just looking for a quick stop to grab your double d or Starbucks this place is not for you. This is hands down the very best coffee shop in Tennessee if not the whole south. They brew coffee as it was meant to be brewed. Slowly, with care, water at the right temperature, high quality beans ground just right. Coffee made by true baristas, not your next door neighbors high school kids. If you appreciate quality youll understand, of you dont you wont. Lest I forget the biscuits, with local meat, egg and cheese to top them. Incredible.. The beauty of this place is youd be hard pressed to know its there as its set back off the street. But thats how the Nasty rolls.

Wow, some harsh reviews here. I went early (8:15ish) on a Sunday, looking for somewhere new to grab a bite and coffee and a quiet place to write. I found the employees helpful and kind. I wish I could remember the name of my sandwich but it had eggs, cheese, paprika, garlic on a brioche bun and now I want that everyday forever, it was delicious. Im not a huge (read snobby) coffee person but my Americano was very good. I think I spent $15 including tip, and I felt it was worth it. Neither my coffee or food took 20-30 minutes, but again it was early. I liked the music, and the decor. I didnt find it too "hipstery" but again, I was busy enjoying my food and writing and not turning my nose up at others.

Really sad because I had a fine experience here when I came earlier this year in May, and I actually drove to Nashville all the way from Columbus, Ohio this weekend just to come back here and get some work done in a coffee shop with some cool vibes. Today I waited 20 minutes in line for a $4.50 bagel with cream cheese, and then waited another 45 minutes for a cup of coffee, which I had to ask them about twice before they told me they lost my order. Disappointingly overpriced and disorganized. Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the assistant manager apologized profusely afterwards, and because this is still a place I would take my friends simply because of the ambiance.

The coffee is over priced and not at all worth the ridiculous price. I got an iced latte with 4 shots of espresso and caramel flavor, and my girlfriend got an iced latte with 2 shots of espresso, no flavor. It wound up costing almost 30 dollars... The environment is what youre paying for I guess? The open warehouse style ensured the sweltering heat outside could not be escaped from. After waiting upwards of 15 minutes and starting to sweat, we decided to take our coffee to go. Only to be completely disappointed by the bland, flavorless coffee that I paid so much for. Completely hipster vibe, everyone "looks like a vegan" and has that "I am way better than you" attitude.

Barista Parlor is what youd imagine a coffee shop in East Nashville would be like. It has seating outside on a wooden deck and the inside is huge with wooden long tables, cool lights, and hipster/southern decor. The coffee itself is pretty good and they use coffee from different roasters from Stumptown to Counter Coulture. They have strong wifi and a lot of seating. The thing that prevented a five star rating is the people: both the staff and their customers. Everyone were the type of hipsters that are elitist and dont smile at you since they are judging everyone who walks in. Not friendly people at all. Come on Nashville!

Great atmosphere. Definitely a nice place to meet with a friend and just hangout and have coffee. But the coffee part is a tad overrated and the prices for that coffee are over the top. No problem paying for quality but this place borderline gouges. Had the vanilla bourbon definitely didnt get that . Coffee was very clean and tasted good but nothing to rave about. Clover machine at starbucks can put out the same product for $2.00 less. I care less about tatoos, beards, and manbuns I just care about the coffee and at $7.00 a cup it lacks the bang for the buck.
