I love what this place has to offer. Unfortunately in an era of online shopping, I want it now thinking, and big box stores people tend to forget how great small businesses can be and this is a great example. Will you truly get great trade value anywhere? No! Because this is a brick and mortar that needs to pay bills, employees, and make money. If you REALLY need to make money off your games, then do it the old fashioned way and sell directly to another person! Dont leave pointless reviews about how a store didnt give you full retail value for your game because thats not how it works. I find their prices to be fair across the board. A little high on some things and a bit low on others, but overall fair. They dont have hundreds of stores nationwide, they have two! I will absolutely drive 40 minutes to visit this store again. I will support this business after years GameFlop muscling its way into every town, and pushing so many great shops out. Game Trader cares about gaming, the history of gaming, and the community of gamers around it. Thank you Game Trader.

Their customer service is atrocious. Just as others have stated before me, dont waste your time trying to call them ahead and see what they will offer for your games, cause they wont tell you. Im sorry if I live an hour and a half away and dont want to drive all the way there just for an estimate, sir. Id appreciate some sort of IDEA of how much they would give me for credit. Im a game collector, I know what games are worth, I know what game stores like this will pay you in cash, I just want a simple ballpark figure of in-store credit, sheesh. Also, dont act like a complete jerk over the phone because I tell you I just wanted to know an estimate so I dont have to waste my time. I would not recommend either of their stores to anyone I know.

Just as everybody else stated very knowledgeable staff, but items are way overpriced. Just go to ebay and save yourself 10-20 bucks. They also will not give price quotes over the phone if you want to sell/trade in a game. I can understand that to an extent (condition factors and the such), but they would not even give me a general ballpark quote over the phone. I then had to drive 20 mins across town to get a complete low ball offer. Say no to their offer. Then drive 20 mins back to my house. What a complete waste of time just because they would not give me a general quote over the phone. I have been collecting and dealing in video games for 10+ years and would not recommend The Trader.

Retro Game stores like this just piss me off. $29.99 for Castlevania: Lament of Innocence $39.99 for Dark Cloud $39.99 for Resident Evil 3 (Gamecube) $39.99 for Mega Man X8 $49.99 for Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean $250 for a CIB copy of Link to the Past (Seriously WTF?!) How the **** are you going to charge these kinds prices? Ive only been in this store twice and the staff were douches both times. Its really sad that Digital Planet went out of business because of stores like Game Trader.

Not the best place to trade in as the amount offered was very very low compared to other stores. I was looking for some vintage Sega Genesis games and selection was not much. Most games were priced higher then other stores and also eBay, however I did find one game on my list and it was worth it to have now and not buy online. Staff was friendly, but I do not know I would recommend to find vintage games, current console game selection looked pretty solid.

Great selection and great prices. I drive an hour away to check out the selection of vintage video games at this location. The guys that work there have gone out of their way to help me with items and are extremely knowledgeable. Good selection of new and old, and great prices and selection. They give really good trade in credit too (they take any piece or part you may have to sell). Honestly my favorite place to buy vintage games.

Typical used video game store. Anything they have that is nice is kept behind the counter and over priced. Nowadays with ebay, there is really no reason to buy at a bricks and mortar. I only go there when I want to unload junk games or accessories because they do not worry much about condition on trade ins so I get money for stuff I would give away for free.

As Murfreesboros oldest and most-treasured video gaming store, Game Trader is a gem in its own right. Spanning a well-stocked collection across so many gaming generations, there is always something new to discover to try out to add to your own collection. Ive found so many games that Ive never heard of before that not only are cheap, but good-quality too.

I called here and they said they would give 6-7 dollars for a certain game, well I brought the game plus a dozen more, two xboxs, three controllers (one ps2, and two Xbox 360) , and etc. well I orignally I was granted to get 50 but in the end I got 15. Wouldnt recommend trading here if youre looking to sell your old equipment for quick cash.

the big thing that i like most about GT is that they buy and sell old gen system such as nes, sega dreamcast, and n64. being that it is a small buisiness and not a corp like gamestop they will bargain with you. every now and then you can go in and find the cardboard standups and posters on sale for dirt cheap.

EXTREMELY over priced. Some games are priced 2-3x the Amazon price. The selection of older games seems big but its Mostly multiple copies of certain, common games that most people dont want. Some of the guys working are nice but some are jerks. Just depends whos working that day I guess.

Wanted to buy my first game system since snes. The manager spent over 10 minutes on the phone helping me to know what would be best for me. I didnt compare prices but even if they arent the lowest price, they still have my business for being so generous to help me.
