truly disappointed me for the last time. I have gone in with the intent of getting a new record needle as well as to sell a few records I no longer need for trade credit. What I have received every time Ive gone in there however is the reply well, only the manager can do that. This has happened every single time I have gone into this store. Ive even tried calling before going into the store in order to insure the manager was there, but within the 20 minutes that it took to get to the store the manager had gone to lunch or had left for the day. I find it had to believe that the manager of the store would be there so little, but sure enough as soon as I did finally get the chance to meet this mysterious manager, he spent almost 40 minutes talking to what I assume to be his buddies about miscellaneous music he had listened to before finally telling me that they didnt have my needle in stock and theyd have to order it. I asked how long it would take and he said he had just made an order so it might be a few weeks before he places another. It should not be this difficult to get an item from a store that supposedly specializes in records and players, but alas its taken over a month for the manager to tell me they didnt have it in stock. I can not suggest going here if you have record player needs. Youre better off buying from online if its gonna take weeks and at least you get the product you are looking for eventually.

Record Stores are notorious for indiffrent/inexprienced/un-concerned staff...blame the one who does the hiring...a reflection of that person perhaps? Anyhey....best best is to locate a true audio facility that knows....yes those are almost on the non-existent side.....if one has a Technics 1200 series with the screwable mount, plenty of stylus/needles will work...I use Ortofon. Most likely, many of you all have other turnatables...would suggest Jerry Raskins Needle Doctor (online) who do have a wide variety of stylus/needles....good customer service who will help you fit your turntable (and they do have a physical store too! Grand Rapids Michigan I believe) As for trading in records....Great Escape is notorious for lowballing offers/bad service for evaluations of the vinyl....try either Grimeys or Phonolux in Nashville......not the best service at times either...but somewhat better offers. As for the record selection at G.E.,quite good depending on ones musical taste(s) Best bet is to just browse and get your music and dont bother the ones on that day....injoy the experience and check out and then go!

A great store with a fluid, but limited, selection of products. This review is written from the perspective of a retro video game collector. Value: 5/5 - They base their prices on current market value and always try to beat the trend by at least a few cents. In addition, Managers Specials and 20% off storewide sales are common. Selection: 3/5 - Not many games at any given time, but they are constantly bringing in new stock and rotating product. Might be worth it to visit once or twice a week. Staff: 5/5 - Always friendly and ready to have a conversation about your hobbies/collection. Unable to strike a bargain, but with their value it doesnt make a difference. Location: 3/5 - Plenty of parking. Bathrooms are under lock and key and leave something to be desired. Organization is there, but not perfect. Games are often separated and delegated to 2 or 3 different sections of the store.

The store is fine, but the manager and staff is less than helpful. If you want anything other than what is currently in the store you are better off ordering from ebay or amazon. They pay less than fair prices on most items and then jack the prices up for even more profit. I remember a time when they not only paid fair prices for good merchandise, but also had people working there that knew what they were doing and were genuinely nice to people who came in to shop. Now the bowling green store is a shell of its former self. I havent been to the nashville locations lately, but I hope for their own sake that they have better customer service than the bowling green location.

This place is terrible. Not only are the prices high and they wont give you anything on trade ins. But The staff and employees are really rude and unprofessional. Only the manager will greet you, other than that they will ignore you and just sit in complete silence while they check you out. Probably the most annoying thing is that they talk a lot of politics in there, which I dont want to hear while Im shopping. They will talk about guns and how much they love them, which I dont know why they need any cause they all live in there moms basement anyway.

This place has everything -- a good selection of vinyl records and CDs, video games and consoles, a variety of comic books, Pokemon and Magic: The Gathering cards, and even those collectible Funko Pop figures. They definitely stay true to the store name -- coming here really is a great escape. Everythings at a good price and theyll even buy stuff from you with the options of cash or store credit. The staff is also very helpful. If youre someone who still loves record stores, this is a great place for you.

Best place in town for retro games. Really the only place in town, but great nonetheless. The prices are for the most part great. I see people writing bad reviews for their lowball offers to buy things, but thats because they sell things for CHEAP. Most of their PS2 games, many of which will run you 10+ dollars online, are only $2.99 to $6.99. I went in expecting to get one $20 game and walked out with a stack for $15. All games were in great condition and complete, great value for great products.

I took in over $1000 worth of my walking dead comic collection expecting them to at least offer a decent price, despite their horrible reputation in the southern Kentucky community for ripping people off. When I came back to pick my comics up after they looked at them, they offered me $310, so I left. Long story short, Great Escape is always going to rip people off, so dont ever take your belongings to them, unless you want to be disrespected with their lowball offers.

The store is fine and has a big selection of random vinyls, collectibles, movies, and games. However, dont try to sell anything to them and expect to receive anything notable . I recently gave them a large bag filled with CDs, DVDs, video games and controllers, as well as dozens of collectibles in new condition (some were special edition) and was offered $25 for the whole thing. Not selling here again.

Great Escape comic holds: They have yet to get my hold on Old Man Logan comic correct for several months. I placed the hold order for Old Man Logan in March and every month I go in for my hold and every month I take an issue from the wall because my book has not been held for me. Each month for 7 months it has been incorrect. September will my final visit if my hold isnt correct.

I usually go to the Louisville store, but the anniversary specials (including freebies) got me to finally check out their BG store. Overall a better layout than the Lou store, but almost no RPGs. Staff seemed OK to me when I went. I have also been to a GE store just north of Nashville, TN, and it was similar to the BG store but bigger.
