I was doing some diagnostic work on my new computer in order to trouble-shoot the cause(s) of some Windows 7 errors & BSOD: checking RAM, motherboard, video card, power supply... Well, i finally determined the cause of the error to be related to the graphics card (a GTX 550 ti), by slowly adding components and drivers one at a time... BUT, in order to get confirmation that the problem is indeed the card, (and not the Express slot on the motherboard or something else, like psu), i would need to put the card into a known working system... So, i made their diagnostic work REAL EASY on them... i only brought them the graphics card... The guy told me the card was "good." And when i asked him how he made that determination, he replied, "we powered it on for 5 minutes." ...I had wait hours & hours for them to do a shoddy 5 minute test ? LOL. From what he said, it gave me little assurance or confidence in their diagnostic capabilities. I mean, he didnt even run 1 program or game ? (to really test the card). And after his 5 minute test, he told me $30 for a full system check, or $10 to check the power supply... (when they advertise free diagnostics... its pretty much a bait a switch)... Which i dont really mind pay the $10 or $30... but not when youve given me little confidence that your 1st test was satisfactory. Summary: #1. Bait & Switch tatics #2. Their service will leave you wondering if theyve done the job correctly. Basically, theyre a big waste of time.

Came to this computer store for help/advice with 4 yr old Sony computer. Owner was very knowledgeable and helpful in arriving at solution. I felt like I was treated with respect, dignity, and concern for my needs, not for just selling parts/service/equipment. I am not a computer expert and am convinced that the store representative could have taken advantage of the opportunity and steered me in a direction that would have lined his pockets. Instead, I was offered a very practical and cost effective solution for my issues and was actually told that I did not need some computer parts that I thought I needed. Computer service was performed in less then 24 hrs, which surprised me greatly, because I have had other experiences where service stores advised me that it would be a week or longer before they could even look at my unit. I am now sitting at home using the computer and it has much enhanced useability and am glad that I did not seek advice elsewhere and come home with a $300 service bill or a $700 new computer which I just dont need at this point. I appreciate the pleasant customer service and efficient technical support that was provided by this business.

DO YOUR RESEARCH! Know how much it really costs to fix the problem. when it comes to fixing something thats wrong with your device, they are great, but my concern is DO THEY REALLY TELL US THE TRUTH ABOUT WHATS WRONG? I am a computer science student and my laptop would not charge and after futile attempts i decided to take it to compumax. After keeping it for a week they told me that the power jack was the problem and charged me a diagnosis fee. They said it would cost $150 something to fix it (Fact: a power jack only costs $6 - $10). OH and when i decided i want to fix it myself they gave me my laptop back WITHOUT the battery. After i was really adamant about my laptop having the battery when i dropped it off, they spent another three days looking for it. I took it back home afterwards and ordered a power jack, replaced it, and guess what? IT DID NOT WORK. Finally i realized that it was my charger that was faulty and not the power jack. SO 1. they charged me a diagnosis fee for a diagnosis that wasnt even correct and 2. they were going to charge me $150 for something that cost no more than $15. Rest i leave up to you all.

This place is AWFUL! HORRIBLE! DO GO THERE!!!! BAD SERVICE! RIP OFF! I purchase (2) VGA splitters based on the assistance over the phone from one of their representatives. They advised by purchasing this cable my laptop could use 2 monitors and expand my screen and usability. Upon bring the cable home, the cable doesnt expand the desk top it simply duplicates it. I sent my assistant down to the store to return the 2 cables, the person at the desk advised the manager is the only one to do exchanges. Upon her arrival to the office, I called them back to gain more clarification. A man who got on the line advised he was the manager and that they do refunds at all on open products. I told him the item was not sealed in a package they were open when we received them. He got very rude, and yelled through the phone at me that he spoken with me before which I had never spoken to him as I would have recognized his thick foreign accent. He hung up on me and refused to return the item that his staff advised me to purchase which does not work.

A few days ago, my computer apparently crashed where Windows had a unknown startup error. It wasnt able to load onto the desktop. All my important files and documents were on there and I was doomed if they werent recovered in time. Thankfully, I did a Google search for computer repairs in Murfreesboro and Compumax USA was one of the first results that showed up. I decided to give them a call. The great thing about the whole experience was the owner Omar. This guy is awesome, he gave me an initial diagnostic for free and found out that my harddrive was not affected which was the good news, but the bad news was Windows had crashed and cannot be restored unless the drive was reformatted. Thankfully, he was able to recover all my work and personal files which he reuploaded onto the computer after he reinstalled windows and cleaned everything out. The better part is that after writing this review, I am able to receive free service next time I visit his place. Thanks to Omar, my computer is fixed again!

AWFUL, RIPOFF, OUT OF TOUCH WITH MODERN COMPUTING: My TWO stories. First, let me explain that I am a fool for calling back the second time expecting anything different than my first experience. First: They wanted to sell me a copy of Windows 8 for $150. Best Buy had it for 75 flat and there was no negotiating of any kind that the owner would do with me. Second: Needed a 40mm case fan for my pc. He wanted $20 for it and claimed that is what they go for. Do your own research beforehand. I understand that businesses like these exist to exploit the laymen and do so with a hefty price, but where is an enthusiast to go when they need parts in a small town like murfreesboro? Overall, id stay away from this place as they are sharks and should be treated as such. The location looks run down and offers "jack of all trades" services. Dont be fooled by the flashy website. Go to Azzo or Joes computer shop, instead. "You earned this review, guy"

Recently my Memory on my computer went bad, so while I was asleep my wife went out looking to get me some more. Apparently they seen a woman who didnt know much about computers and decided to rip her off. They sold her 4 GB DDR3 1600 for $54.86. If you look at it online you can get the same price for a set of 2. They said they only had one stick. So when I tried to return it, the "little short balding guy being completely rude" told me there are no returns on ANYTHING. All the sudden he had extra sticks and said I could buy another for $30+tax. Remind you thats $54.86 + $30+tax for 8GB of memory! He said I could use it to exchange for anything in the store. So I looked at a SATA card. Something that sells for $20 anywhere else, was suddenly $67!!!! I dont know about the other workers there, but this "little short balding guy being completely rude" is ruining your business!!!!!!!! NEVER GO HERE FOR COMPUTER PARTS!!!!!
