I had tears in my eyes when I walked into this store. Puppies were in metal barred cages without bedding- they ask for shredded paper donations for their puppies, as that is what they use in the cage. I was looking for a very specific animal, in which they had a few of; however they were so sickly looking. They barely moved, feces was embedded in their fur. AND they are bunnies- they keep both male and female in the same cage. No worries of inbreeding. My heart broke for every animal in the awful dungeon. I left in tears. This place needs to be closed down.

Do you guys understand that there are THOUSANDS on THOUSANDS of dogs at shelters that get euthanized every day? Do you know how they do it? And beyond that, do you know where your puppy actually came from? A "USDA-licensed breeder" typically meets the bare minimum of standards, and honestly the idea that anyone would sell dogs for profit is a crazy, horrible thought in the first place. I wandered in this store and was appalled. All pet stores appall me. And I am appalled to read all these reviews. Do your research. Animals are not objects.

A nice pet shop, but I wanted a parakeet and every time I went there the parakeets were dirty, unkept looking, sickly, missing tail feathers, with filthy water in the dish for drinking. Little wonder they were all diseased. The previous parakeet I bought there was diseased and died of a heart defect in less than a year. There are seldom male birds, only females so choices are limited. Its a shame. they have many parakeets...all of them looking sick and diseased. Try Pet Supplies Plus, the birds there are cleaner and healthier.

I purchased a shih-poo from The Pet Shop in Whitehall back on January 2006. He is the cutest dog I have ever had and there were no medical problems. I took him to my own vet and received a clean bill of health. If you feel you are getting the run around from the Pet Shop vet then spend the money and take the pet to your own vet. If you can spend the money to purchase the dog then spend the money on a reliable vet.

Upon entering the mall entrance a large white van was discovered with puppies in cages in the back of the van yelping & whining. The temperature was 90 & the sun was starting to hit the van. The dogs were hot & no effort had been made to protect them from the heat. I wonder how the other animals are routinely treated.

We got our boxer puppy here in August and he is great! We took him to the vet for an upset stomachs couple days after we brought him home and the Pet Shop covered the vet visit and his meds. The Allentown Animal Clinic also had all of his info on file which was great. The Pet Shop staff were very friendly and helpful.

This store is shameful. They take substandard care of animals.They get their puppies from Puppy Mills. (says alot) The managers have an awful attitude and couldnt care less. Its all about the money. Not to mention they are way overpriced. Get a rescue!!!!

Went in today and the old worker kicked the dog to push him down then grabbed him by the neck so he would not jump dogs had no blankets or drinking water,they did not clean cages, do not buy dogs here my puppy was dirty when we got him

The only flaw i have for this store is seeing the puppies on the barred things. It hurts their paws! And make their cages bigger. It breaks my heart seeing those dogs walk on that metal stuff! They need to fix that.

Extremely rude employees and they refuse to help you. The animals are not well taken care of and they give them little to no water. The dogs sit in metal cages with no blankets and no food. Absolutely horrible place.

The animals, especially the 2 cats, do not look clean or well taken care of. This place should not be allowed to be in control of these Animals lives. Please rescue these animals.

The 2 old ladies are extremely rude making comments about customers and you ask them a question and they are just rude. Poor customer service I will never come to this place.

Newly remodeled the pet shop now has many more dogs and no longer birds or reptiles giving much more opportunity to interact with a wider variety of puppy
