A little over 3-4 months ago I traveled 1 1/2 hours because a salesperson named Lauren told me that they had a Santa Fe in stock and they could sell it to me for an agreed price. I wanted to verify that Lauren wasnt just trying to get me in the door so I asked for her to verify this with a sales manager. After verifying with a sales manager that they would sell the car for the negotiated price I commuted to the dealership. When I arrived I asked for Lauren and a car sales rep told me she wasnt there. After asking him where she was he notified me that she was just an online salesperson who just makes appointments online. That was just the beginning.. After sitting with the salesman I was under the impression he had notes from Laurens conversation with me.. no... They wanted me to fill out paperwork which is fine if I am actually getting a car, but nope this was somehow part of the dealerships normal activity of baiting someone in for a sale. After filling out some paperwork the sales man told me what they would give me for a trade in on my vehicle and also what they would sell their Santa Fe for. The price wasnt even close to the same as the online price nor what Lauren told me they would sell the vehicle to me for. They marked the price of the car up around $3,500 above the price that was even listed online and well above KBB value for dealership prices. I came prepared with other dealership printouts of the same car including miles and price. The Major Hyundai sales manager said said there was no way those dealerships could do it. I left and went over to Ken Pollock in Wilkes-Barre and they were great! Not only did they advertise the car properly they worked with me and didnt lie. The manager at Major Hyundai treated me as if I didnt know what I was talking about. If you want to purchase a car do not go to Major Hyundai in Stoudsburg, because they will rip you off and lie to you to get you into the door!

Today I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Major Hyundai in Stroudsburg, PA. I am in the market for a vehicle and am interested in a Sonata Limited. I visited the website which required me to enter some contact information. Within a few minutes I received a call from the dealership asking how they could help me. I explained what I was looking for, expressly indicating that I was only interested in the Sonata Limited. I was told that they had three on the lot, spoke briefly about cost, and set up an appointment. Upon arrival at the dealership I was greeted by a sales rep who responded with a puzzled look when I said I was there to see the Sonata Limited vehicles that he had on the lot. Upon completing a walk through the lot he turned to me and said "we have no Limited models, but we can add the features onto the GLS model. Upon questioning him further he indicated that they could add leather and sunroof. I asked about climate control and heated seats and of course he indicated that they couldnt do that. I followed up by calling back to the dealership to speak with the original person that I spoke to to let her know what happened. Her response was that she cant see what model the Sonata is on the inventory lists, she only can see that it is a Sonata but cant tell if it is a GLS, SE, or Limited. I wish I had looked at the reviews before spend the time going there because it looks like this is a common practice. I have no desire to deal with anyone with this type of tactics. It is a shame, since I was ready to buy a car today. I will just need to find it elsewhere.

I traveled two hours because a salesperson named Lauren told me that they had a specific car in stock and that I could get it for 99 dollars per month. When I arrived I asked for Lauren and the sales rep told me that she was not a salesperson just someone paid to make appointments. That was just the beginnining of my journey. The car I was promised was not on the lot and and was no longer there, but they offered to find one for me. I went to take a look on the lot at what they had and found out that every new car was marked up by $3,500.00 dollars over the MSRP. When I asked the salesman about it he told me that had always been the way that they price up the cars. How a dealer can mark up cars by $3,500.00 dollars and get away with it is beyond me. Then when I asked about the 99 dollars a month the salesman told me that it would only apply for the first year and after that it would go up to the regular payment which could be as high as 600 per month depending on the car you choose. Then I asked about the 4k more for my trade over bluebook. The salesman corrected me by saying that it was UP TO 4k more for the trade, meaning that it was just another sales ploy and they had no intention of giving me anymore money then my trade was worth. The manager was not much help, all he did was give double talk, typical idiot manager, who must take consumers for fools. If you want to save THOUSANDS of dollars on a car do not go to Major Hyunai in Stoudsburg, they will rip you off . Remember if anything is to good to be true it, it usualy is !

The buying experience was amazing. Everything with explained in detail and everyone was amazingly friendly. However it was after the buying process that I had a issue with Major Hyundai. We bought the car at night and did not notice until the next morning that there were swirls in the paint, like someone took a dirty rag to a dry car and scratched the living daylights out of it. We called to bring the car in (we live in Jersey). When we took it in we also had them check the car alarm because it was so sensitive and would go off every 20 minutes. They helped with neither, their response was that the scratches were nothing they could hep with and that they reset the alarm but nothing had changed with it. Whatever, it was fine we figured things out on our own. A month or so down the line my boyfriend started having problems with the car with quality of parts and materials both inside and outside of the car, I sent an email to the person who helped us get the car and it has been over a month since I sent it, with no email back. It is extremely hard, because of the hours that we work to be able to find time while they are open to give them a call about terminating our lease. As a result we are currently looking for a new car and just going to terminate the lease without staying in the Hyundai/Honda brand, especially their location.

i did not like my buying experience. they lied about the milage on the car. they plastered the car with advertising and i told them not to do that. i made them take it off. they drilled 2 holes in the front bumper. i had to leave the screws in. the car had 100 miles on it. they told me it had 10 when i went to pick it up. they must have been using it as a demo car while i was waiting to pick it up. i discovered it on the way home. about 3 miles away. they said they had to go fill the car with gas. it was bs. the rear brakes went at 18000 miles. the sliders became corroded. they told me they should have been lubricated. i brought my car to them for all service. they never mentioned lubing the sliders or i would have had it done. i had to pay. what about their bumper to bumper best warranty. it is useless to me. i got a flat tire and used inflate a spare and my wife took the car to the dealer for repair. they said the inflate a spare might cause the TPM to malfunction and told her she needed to buy a new tire which they over charged. $200 + for a tire for a Sonata. I dont like sales or service. I wont go to them for anything. There is suposed to be a 100K warranty on engine and trans. but im sure they will find a way to get out of it if something is wrong.
