My experience with this shop was varied. When I first dropped my bike off, I mentioned exactly what I thought was wrong with the bike: 1) Front brake was starting to stick 2) Electrical issues with the charging system (battery wont hold charge for long) 3) Needed back brakes replace (I brought new pads with me to be installed). I left the bike with them for 2 weeks without hearing back anything. After two weeks, I started calling....and calling...and calling.... I didnt get a call for 3 weeks. This is after leaving countless messages and requesting information. At the end of the 3rd week mark, they mentioned the bike had been looked at and quoted me 580+ for the work that needed to be done which included a new charging system (stator, regulator/rectifier, battery as they said I had "low throughput") as well as replacing the back brakes. This seemed outrageous as the bike is an 07 Suzuki and shouldnt need this type of work yet. I asked for them to release the bike to me and I would work on it myself. It cost me $65.00 for the release of this bike into my possession for nearly no information as to what exactly in the charging system was faulty and the back brakes were still not installed. Later that week, I did some research and bought the Haynes bike manual and was able to determine the root cause of my problems was a weak battery alone after numerous deep cycling during the winter riding and unuse. I tested every other component of the charging system and determined THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THEM. They were all well within their respective operating range. This shop wanted to charge me to replace the entire system which was working fine. I bought a new battery and do not expect to see any issues in the foreseeable future. To their credit, when I was able to get a hold of them, the staff there were kind to me and tried to be helpful when I went to pick the bike up and talked me through what they thought was wrong with my motorcycle however being personable and likable unfortunately does not make up for poor service, unresponsiveness, and a wrong diagnosis. I wouldnt not recommend this shop for any type of diagnostic work. Perhaps if you know exactly what needs to be performed, they may be able to perform specific tasks but I was not satisfied with the service and cannot recommend this shop for any motorcycle work.

Finally! An alternative to the scooter shop on Passyunk and so much better customer service! While the scooter shop on Passyunk helped me with my Buddy for many years, once I got my "Chinese scooter" as a replacement to my stolen Buddy, they told me they dont work on Chinese scooters. What great advice; thats how I found South Philly Cycles. They were able to inspect my 150cc scooter and have taken GREAT care of my needs. They actually open before noon (which was frustrating about the Passyunk Ave shop) and they help me with whatever issue I have: flat tire, state inspection, lights out, etc. They are reasonable and somehow, the owner, Lynn, always remembers my name. GREAT customer service at a time when most business are lacking. Prices are also more reasonable than Passyunk Ave shop so its great to save money at the same time. I highly recommend this shop for scooter owners of ALL makes and models.

I brought my Zuma 125 scooter in to fix a Big Bore Kit install that I botched. Arnie (the mechanic) was very patient and thorough with addressing the problem. After some serious troubleshooting he found that I reinstalled my Camshaft Sprocket incorrectly. The whole process was made so much easier by his attention to detail and expert knowledge. He also installed a high lift cam for me, adjusted my valves and made sure everything was set just right. I should have had him install the BBK for me in the first place. However, I like to tinker and occasionally get myself in trouble. Now my bike rides like a dream! I HIGHLY recommend them for service on your bike! Great price, great service. What more could you ask for?

I was having throttle cable issues and they were great. No waiting to order a part, and they even fixed some cosmetic issues I didnt even ask them to fix. Then the next day when I thought I was having the same issue, I brought it back and this time it was a spark plug cap issue that they fixed free of charge, and even came in on the day they were closed so I could pick my scooter up. A much better alternative to Philadelphia Scooters. This place is a garage and they are professionals, unlike Philadelphia Scooter who only seems to want to sell you something.

I had a great experience at South Philly today. I had them change my oil and fix the turn signal on my 50cc Chinese import scooter. I waited while they did the service and the receptionist was very friendly. She showed me online where they sell my model of bike and where I can order parts. Not only did the mechanic do the work I had requested, he went over and above. He filled the tires and replaced missing screws in the body-work as we chatted and he showed me how to care for the bike. Based on my experience today I will definitely go back in the future.

After making an appointment and bringing my bike in for a routine tune-up (which took almost two weeks to do) picked it up and it had a really bad ticking sound when i accelerate, brought it back in to have it checked on again and the dude tells me it has nothing to do with what he did to the bike (of course), but it just magically started ticking after he did the tune-up??? so now i have to pay to have somebody else fix it so do yourself a favor and take your bike to someone who knows what theyre doing and save yourself some money and hassle

This place is horrible! There is a complete lack of professionalism on all aspects of their work. I went to them last summer to have my bike looked at, they told me it should be a quick fix not more than a few days and less than $100. I didnt get my bike back for over 3 WEEKS, I was using this bike to get to work and I was stuck for 3 weeks to carpool and find public transportation. At the end of it all I paid over $400 for the work they did. I AM NEVER GONG BACK THERE AGAIN!

Its not a bad place because I used them on numerous of occasions. However in terms of fork replacements take that else where. They used aftermarket seals that were very leaky. They did offer to do it a second time around, however it was still leaking. Im not sure if he did a bad job, but bringing it elsewhere solved my problem. I am still out 200 dollars for no fix. Theyre a honest bunch of give them that, however the service still wasnt up to par.
