This is the worst applicance repair company I have EVER had to deal with. My washer has had problems since Sept. 2009. They came out three times and tried to say it was different things. Finally, they said it was a problem with the timer, which is what a friend of ours had told us originally and it took AJ Appliance forever to figure out (and our friend is not even experienced with appliances). AJ Appliance figure it out in Nov. 2009. They said they would order the part and it would take 3-4 business days. Almost a month passed and the washer was not fixed and we did not hear from them. We finally had to call them and ask what happened. We were told that they had not fixed it because they had written down the model number incorrectly for the washer. They never bothered to call us to tell us this was the problem or that they needed the correct number. We were told they would come out and get the correct model number, but another week goes by and they dont call back. We have to take time off from work to be home to call them and give them the correct model number. It takes another week to get the part in. Then they promise to be out here yesterday. They NEVER come and dont call. I call and leave a message telling them to be out here today, and I am not surprised to see that they did not come out today and did not return my phone call. So I repeat do NOT hire AJ Appliance unless you want to receive the most unprofessional service you believe and the most incompetent workers

After calling AJ Appliance and informing them of my issue with my dryer they scheduled a tech to come out. I had called back again to provide them with the Error code that kept stopping my dryer from working and had asked if it meant anything specific. They told me that it did not and that someone would definitely have to look in person. When the tech showed up he seemed bothered, not to mention my unit is in a small closet on the second floor and he weighed about 250lbs. He turned the dryer on only to find that it was still producing heat, as I stated on the phone, and he said that the E code meant my vents were clogged and that I would have to call a vent cleaning company. The tech was in my home for about 5 minutes TOTAL! Still he charged me over $90 for the service call. I did not argue at the time until I had someone come to clean my vent the following week and they were NOT clogged!! Luckily the private handy man was able to correct the issue in about 25minutes and only charged me $50!! When I called A.J. Appliance back to discuss a PARTIAL refund I was basically laughed at and was told they would "call me back" after speaking to the owners about a refund. Needless to say they did not attempt to rectify my issue. I would NEVER recommend this company just on the principle of morals and poor business practice. I would not know how their completed work turns out since there was nothing done for me except handing them over $90 for absolutely nothing.

AJ Appliance incorrectly scheduled my repair appt for the wrong day. They left a voicemail to confirm the incorrect day to which I called back and left a detailed message saying that day would not work, that I had not scheduled that day to begin with and that no one would be home to let the tech in (it was my birthday, I knew I would not be home!). While out for my birthday lunch I received an annoyed sounding message from Joe saying he was on my front steps waiting for someone to let him in for my "confirmed" appt. Apparently Joe does not check his messages. When I called back to try to resolve the confusion the girl insisted (rudely) that the incorrect appt had been confirmed, yet no one in my residence had spoken to anyone, so its unclear to me how this could be true. Apparently by their standards, leaving a voicemail is considered confirmation. Not only was there no apology for their scheduling error, but the next appt they offered wasnt for another five days! I am hosting a party in two days for which I need to use my oven and explained this to the girl hoping something could be worked out. No surprise ending here, I was told "Nope, thats all we got." Thanks AJ Appliance, I hope you have better customer service in the New Year!

Awful experience. I called these people to fix a dryer. We scheduled something for the "afternoon" that week. They call me at 8:00 saying theyll be there at 10:30. I rush to get home in time to find that the technician was there at 9:00 and left. I called them back and they tried to tell me that they dont service my area after 10:30, ridiculous. I was ready to go with another company but they called back and said they could accomodate the afternoon. They came out one week and got the part number. The next week to install the part. Turns out that they ordered the wrong part. Supposedly, Sears had several part numbers that were "similiar" that were listed for my dryer, I guess they just closed their eyes and picked one at random. Either way, they had to re-order the part. Two weeks went by without a word. I had to call them to find out what was going on. Save yourself the aggravation, and the time. This process has taken at least 6 weeks if not more.

The day after I loaded up my fridge with a few hundred dollars worth of food, it died. Since this was the second time it conked out in 3 years, it wasnt worth repairing again so I went to AJ Appliance for a new one. With all that food sitting in the dead one, I needed something immediately. The sales person was very helpful; he went through various options in-stock, quality, etc. I explained that between the food that was going to go bad and work commitments I was really limited to a very narrow delivery option. He called the delivery team, juggled a few things and between his efforts and a delivery cancellation, I was able to get my new fridge same day. The only reason they dont get 4 stars is because the showroom really is small and I couldnt see many options in person - had to rely on his internet searches. Otherwise, could not have had a better experience.

Friendly service but HORRIBLE workmanship. Use AJ appliances twice for my washer and heat pump. The reverse valve on my heat pump broke during winter. AJ replaced the part for me but damaged the celluloid in the valve when they had un-solder the copper pipes. 6 months later, I find out the valve is stuck on heat. Meanwhile, my washer drainage was clogged so I also had AJ work on it. In the process of unclogging the washer, they disconnected my dryers exhaust in the back of the washer/dryer closet. They never reconnected it. I didnt notice it until paint around the molding of closet started to chip exactly 31 days later. Since it was passed their 30 day service guarantee, they wanted another $75 to reconnect the exhaust. Youre better off just using youtube and fixing things yourself. Otherwise you run the risk of AJ breaking more things and charging you extra.
