Shopping here is one of my all-time least favorite chores. It has never been a pleasant experience in the 5+ years Ive shopped here for various reasons. The parking is an issue 95% of the time. They always seem to be out of stock on several items on my list EVERY time I go. What is available is damaged in some way i.e. crushed canned goods, crushed boxes, etc. This location is open 24 hours yet restocking occurs during daytime shopping hours. The aisles are difficult to navigate while TRYING to do your shopping because of the numerous other shoppers in a limited space. The restocking just adds to the frustration by further restricting the already limited access to the products. The checkout is a nightmare as well. Overall, most checkers are nice but there is always a long wait..either because of long lines, slow checkers, or too few experienced checkers. When checkers do experience an issue they arent trained to handle, access to management is scarce. Many times Ive been in line where someone was trying to complete a transaction but for whatever reason couldnt. Even after the checker was able to get a manager to come to the checkstand in person, the manager left before making sure the transaction was successfully completed, leaving the poor checker with the problem still unresolved and a long line of impatient people. This isnt a one time thing, its a very common occurrence. Ive seen two different members of management being, what I considered, rude & very unprofessional while addressing a checker on different occasions. I felt badly for the checker & just hugely uncomfortable. There ARE a FEW very helpful, very courteous, managers & checkers, however they are the exception rather than the rule. I shop here because my finances dont leave me much choice. I absolutely dread going grocery shopping anymore.

Worst experience ever at a WALMART. Last night 4/4/2013 at 6pm on a Thursday night they had one express and 2 regular checkstands open with huge lines. They REFUSED to get more checkers. I have pictures to prove that there was over 20 people in line for the two main checkstands. After a long long wait and asking multiple times to get more checkers and calling the store and 800 without success we left our two hours of shopping for food of three carts there and walked out. We had been in line for over 25 minutes and our frozen food was starting to defrost and we still had at least 8 people ahead of us. So if we had waited another 20 or more minutes to be checked out by the time we got home our food would have been melted and not good anyway. We decided to head to Fred Meyer and buy the items for a little more cost overall but at least the food wouldnt be tossed by us. The biggest shock they had several cashiers open and it was closer to 7pm at this point and we saw a couple other people from Walmart there too! They did something really strange at Fred Meyer though they started getting some lines (like I think three in each and maybe four in another and they called not one but two cashiers up!). Yes Walmart you may be cheaper but not if I have to throw my food out and waste my time as my time is worth money too so Overall Fred Meyer is cheaper than you. Good bye to this WalMart. I will be honest I will probably still go to WalMart for items but it wont be this one and it wont be my first shop. I am appalled by this lack of service you have lost a lot of money on average we spend over $900 a month at this store. I know it isnt much in the big picture but add that up by 100 people over time and that means something.

I AM A WORKING DISABLED PERSON. FORM TIME TO TIME I NEED A 10 CHAIN WITH HOOKS ON IT. IT IS VERY HARD FOR ME TO WALK TO THE HARDWARE SECTION. I HAVE CALLED AN ASKED IF THEY COULD PLEASE HAVE THIS ONE ITEM AT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DESK OR AT A CASHIER. MOST STORES CONSIDER THIS A CUSTOMER SERVICE THING. THE MANAGER OF THIS STORE SAYS THAT IS BEING A PERSONAL SHOPPER. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON TINA THINKS ITS NOT HER JOB TO HAVE SOMEONE BRING UP ONE ITEM. SHE SAYS THEY CANT LEAVE THE AREA THEY ARE WORKING. BOY IS SHE IN THE WRONG DEPARTMENT. SHE IS ALSO THE ONE STANDING TALKING TO OTHER EMPLOYEES WHILE CUSTOMERS WAIT IN LONG LINES. AND THE STORE MANAGER SAYS THAT THEY DONT DO PERSONAL SHOPPING. EVEN IF YOU ARE DISABLED .THEY DONT THINK OF IT AS CUSTOMER SERVICE ITS NOT THEIR JOB TO HELP YOU. FRED MEYER,HOME DEPOT OTHER WAL MART STORES ARE HAPPY TO HELP. BUT NOT STEPHANIE OR TINA THE MANAGERS OF WOOD VILLAGE WAL MART. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A PERSONS FACE LIGHT UP WHEN THEY GET TO SAY NO TO A CUSTOMER WELL TINAS DID LAST NIGHT. THERE WERE 10 PEOPLE IN LINE TRYING TO GET OUT OF THERE.. AND SHES STANDING THERE BSING WITH ANOTHER EMPLOYEE. ITS A GOOD THING THAT THEY HAVE JOBS, BECAUSE THEY WOULD NEVER MAKE IT IN BUSINESS FOR THEMSELVES. NOW I KNOW WHAT TOO BIG TO FAIL MEANS. WAL MART IF YOU DO ONE THING ABOUT THIS REVIEW GET TINA OUT OF CUSTOMER SERVICE AND INTO A MORE SUITABLE POSITION WHERE SHE DOSENT HAVE TO DO THINGS FOR THE CUSTOMERS.MAYBE SOME SENSITIVITY TRAINING FOR STEPHANIE AND TINA, MAYBE THROW IN SOME BUSINESS BASICS .

I have been to this Wally World before. Its not at all convenient. I live in North Portland. There is a very small store near where I live at Hayden Meadows center across from small Dollar store. I can usually find what I need but there but the selection is limited so I occasionally take a pilgrimage to the superstore. I agree that it is clean. I had the misfortune putting my cellphone down while looking at the Choices. I had asked for help finding a sink stopper. She tried but didnt find it. I was using one of their carts and stopped frequently looking for other items. I went to look for my cellphone to use the calculator. NO PHONE. I asked a store clerk to please call number. It rang but was not heard. They were leaving so I went to the service desk. No one there would help. My. Cell was nearly out of power. So I didnt have much time. I looked and couldnt find it. I never found a supervisor. Im reasonably sure no one found it. It was a basic smart phone and not expensive. I thought the staff would go down it while restocking the shelves. But they didnt. I dealt with them several times and did speak with a supervisor. He went to look in a cabinet that was locked. It was not there. All I asked was for someone to please go with me to try to find me. But no one would. The battery ran down so it goes to voicemail immediately. So, although it is far away Im sure I will go again but not real soon. I believe that customer service experience depends on who you interact with.

Ive shopped many WalMart stores that gave me an excellent experience. However the WalMart Super Center in Wood Village is very fragmented. It is like every department is their own store. So if you as a customer need assistance in Housewares & you need to ask an employee from the Toy Department the response Ive received is sorry not my area. Then Im sent all the way to customer service in the front of the store so an employee of Housewares can be paged to assist me. Poor Poor Customer Service. Very messy, this store piles their Clearance Items all together down 1 or 2 isles. Which are not shoppable. The stationary department is the same way. Nothing in the right place. Non department items thru out the whole department. The end of summer I needed to go out in the garden area which was locked & the employee in the pet department had the keys to let customers out there. One problem the large amount of keys one of the assistant managers gave her did not have the right key. It took the girl 20 minutes to get the assistant down to open the door. Of course he brought another assistant with him so they could continue their discussion while I shopped. Not a work related discussion. The whole store has been like this for a few years. I think good customer experience is just as important if not more important than price.
