I LOVE CAPITAL PAWN! I have been dealing with the pawn shops in the area for years now and the experiences i have had with every other pawn shop in salem and in the surrounding areas, extending as far as woodburn, has left me with nothing but hurt feelings and a very negative outlook of the entire pawn industry. Most pawn shops and the people associated with have proven to be very cut-throat and insensitive to the situations generally bring people to take out loans on their belongings. It was an extremely painful experience losing my wedding ring, which i had to pawn to pay storage and save pretty much everything else that my husband and i owned. So many things were going wrong in my life and my luck was limited to only the bad kind. Long story short, I didnt make it back into the pawn shop by the loans due date and when I did I was told that one of the most cherished possessions had been melted down and sold for scrap the very next day after the loan expired. I never wanted to pawn my wedding ring and had no idea when i did that i would never see it again and it broke my heart to lose it like that for a pathetic $100. I had done business with that pawn shop for years and leaving that place in tears was the last time they will ever see me. THAT NEVER WOULD HAVE HAPPENED AT CAPITAL PAWN. With all the other things going on in life it is so easy to lose track of things. Things being out of sight, out of mind, makes it all that much easier for a loan to completely slip your mind. I was absolutely blown away when i got a call from capital pawn just to let me know that the loan on my laptop was up and, since they had noticed that i had renewed the loan before, they thought i might still want it. They could have put the laptop on the shelf and sold it for quite a bit more than the i $100 they had given me for it, but they didnt. In fact, they have called and checked with me on every single loan i have had that has gone past due. Once, at a particularly hectic time, after my phone had been shut off, dealing with a hundred other things i very suddenly remembered my loan, found my pawn slip and was horrified to see that my loan had been up for very nearly two weeks. I flew down the stairs and while scrambling for the phone, relayed the situation to a friend that happened to be over. He told me "Oh, forget it. That thing is gone, long gone." As i dialed i told him "Well probably, but maybe not. Its at the new place on commercial and they have been really awesome." Awesome, i think is an understatement. I was told on the phone that i was "a lucky girl" and that too, is an understatement. They had called me multiple times and, being unsuccessful in reaching me due to my phone being shut off, they were just about to shelf it that day when i called. Even though it was technically theirs, i having again defaulted on my loan, they were still willing to let me pay just the $20 to renew my loan. It is about time there was a pawn shop like this. The people are amazing, they do great business, they care about me, and as long as capital pawn is around, I WILL NEVER TAKE OUT A LOAN AT ANY OTHER PAWN SHOP AGAIN!

I used to come in every week. I will NEVER come in again. Called ahead to make sure theyd accept an item because I was very low on gas and didnt want to waste any gas I didnt have too. I was relyiing on the potential funds to make a trip to see my grandma in the hospital. The employee I spoke too said they would take the item and even gave me a quote for $30. I went in and met up with the guy I had talked to on the phone. During our transaction his computer froze and he went to help another customer really quick while we waited for it to unfreeze. Another employee came by eating a sandwich and asked the first employee if he could help finish our transaction since he was now helping another customer. This bald chucklehead not only spoke to me with his mouth full of food he grabbed my item with his greasy fingers and got sauce residue on my property. Before I even had the opportunity to say "Hey please wash your hands before handling that" he pulled up eBay and said that people were selling my item for $5 and id have better luck selling it on Craigslist and that he wasnt interested. I said theres no way its only $5 online because its a $200 retail item basically brand new and that the other employee quoted me $30. He swung the computer around and showed me a bunch of in progress AUCTIONS, on top of that I saw in the filter section "under $20". What the heck, Capital Pawn? I pointed out that those were auctions and not buy now prices and that I had already gotten a quote and that I called ahead and I wouldnt have came in the first place otherwise because I was low on gas and it was a critical situation and needed the funds and that I came in every week to buy things and never seen him before or had been treated like I was an idiot that could be swindled. He had absolutely zero sympathy and continued to eat his sandwich and shrugged and said " well Its actually my break, ill do you a favor, we can go outside and ill give you $5 out of my wallet and buy it off you. " I was absolutey furious. It was obvious this guy was just trying to buy my workstation himself and lowball me using some bs. I demanded to talk to the other employee but the bald guy said he had left for the night. He asked me if I wanted $5 and I asked to see a manager and he said he was a manager. I said hell no. So I left, with no money ontop of that my gas wasted to drive out there. My grandma passed away that night and I didnt get to see her because Capital Pawn tried to bait and switch me. Im writing this review to warn other people that some of the employees at Capital Pawn will lie to you to try and get your items for themselves. I have posted this on FB for my 300 friends to see as well as yelp and filed with the BBB. Not acceptable. I have spent well over 10,000 this year alone and I will take my buisness elsewhere. Shame on you Capital Pawn for letting your employees eat on the job and behave like theyre TV pawn stars.

5 starts all the way. Amazing Customer service no matter what you look like or are looking for they always treat each person with the best service possible. They leave you with the impression that you are the most important focal point while in the store and there is nothing better than feeling like you and your opinions matter. Great Store, Great Owner, Great Staff, Great Inventory!!!!! if you dont visit your missing out, We wanted to provide a little more insight into how they earned this review so please keep reading!!! Our first visit to Capital Pawn was all it took for us to become return customers. The first time we stopped in we were just taking a look with nothing specific in mind. When looking at rings just to look and get an idea of prices one of the employees Josh treated us as if we had set down a stack of cash on the counter giving us his perfect attention and joking around with us. We have since returned to the store at least once a week for 4 weeks to check over new inventory in firearms and jewelry again with nothing specific in mind just looking. Each and every time the customer service is amazing. Their social media specialist even responded to my hassling about dates of when the new store would be opening with professionalism and rapid responses. With a few minor purchases here and there today was the day in which we found what we could not leave without. I wasnt sure who was more excited about the purchases us or them however the transactions were smooth efficient and enjoyable only adding to the guarantee that we will return here before ANY other store whether it be a high end jeweler, Brand name retailer, or firearm distributor our first choice will always be Capital Pawn. While I might not have mentioned everyones name (I cant remember them all lost in the excitement of our recent purchases) you are all amazing people, thank you for helping us spoil each other.
